Has anyone got the O'Brien picture where he's the only one who has realised he's scored his free kick against the mackems and is wheeling away in celebration? I don't even think the ball is in the net yet and he knows it's going in anyway.

That Gazza one on the fence is quality.

Wasn't the one above it (from the Leazes) in colour originally? I remember it being in one of the football stadiums books circa 1990/1. Even though the ground was open at both ends I always loved that image of it. It didn't in reality, but from that angle I thought it made the stadium look quite impressive/modern/continental, compared to all the pitched rooves and roof trusses everywhere else. The fact the picture was bathed in sunlight helped an all like.

Re the Gazza one: see the guy at the back with his arm up? That's me.

Re the one from the east side of the Leazes: Probably a pic taken as part of the investigation into the petrol bomb, and where, exactly, it landed  ;)

GOING DOWN AT ROKER, SUNDERLAND, ENGLAND, 1992 (Cat #: 1039)
We, an island race, obsessed with our football, huddling shoulder to shoulder in all weathers, including a fine autumn day . . . and suddenly the ball is whipped in and no one is yet celebrating save for he who has kicked it and the man up the floodlight pylon who has an even better view for as long as he hangs on.

Class pics ;) Bring back memories.  See just where this pic is showing I was stood looking from this angle, for Gazza's last appearance at SJP for us against West Ham.  The ball went in the benches and some bloke kicked it back on to the pitch but as he kicked it his slip on shoe which were all the fashion went flying on to the pitch too.  It landed a foot away from Gazza who picked it up, smelled it, and fell down as if he was consumed by the fumes  :D  was a priceless Gazza moment.  Right in front of the corner almost.

The bloke who's shoe it was would get an all-ground ban now.

Mike Ashley owns NUFC to advertise his Sports Company and make a profit, premiership survival is the only aim, to advertise the Sports Company worldwide, and if he doesn't make a profit he will sell a player instead which is far easier than going for the Champions League money and success on the pitch.

My money is on Keegan buying well and improving us quite a lot if Ashley backs him.

"Yet again it falls to us Mackems to educate the Geordies!! Majority means 'the most', so if there were three choices and two of them got 33 votes, and one of them got 34 votes, the 34 would be the majority, and would be the winner, so, in this case 48 is definately the most, and therefore the MAJORITY. So DomMan, who is the dummy?" - SMB
