I wouldn't say jordi cruyff or karel poborsky are blinding success stories. Still won things though.
Enrique's another story. Doing alright, the Bastard.

Mike Ashley owns NUFC to advertise his Sports Company and make a profit, premiership survival is the only aim, to advertise the Sports Company worldwide, and if he doesn't make a profit he will sell a player instead which is far easier than going for the Champions League money and success on the pitch.

My money is on Keegan buying well and improving us quite a lot if Ashley backs him.

but according to you, "we won nowt". Just pointing it out for your benefit, anyway, if you think we will finish above them, you are living in dreamland. Of course, those "trophy players" they have, have proved a right waste of money haven't they.

It took them 120 minutes and penalties to get past a mediocre championship team, they are closer to us than they are to City and Man U. The way you go on its like they are Barcelona. It's their first trophy in 6 years

they were happy enough yesterday.
People have said "we won nowt", I'm pointing out that "trophy players" actually pay dividends or perhaps you would like to swap the likes of Perch and Obertan for the return of Enrique and Bellamy or Carroll, as you think our setup is "better" ?
We will never match the likes of Liverpool and Spurs again, until we attempt to do things in the same way they do.

you won't find any posts from me saying that chum, I was one of the few people who didn't actually think it was beneath us when others took a champions League place for granted, insisting that "anyone could do it now", the fundamental reason why the team that only finished 5th was booed.
What do you think of those ex Newcastle "trophy players, troublemakers and overpriced players we are better off without" who won a trophy with Liverpool yesterday ?

why do people put Owen down as their example of "failure" ?
Ba, Tiote and Cisse will all be sold for cheaper, and so it will go on.

Doesn't answer a single thing in my post
You may as well have gone on about Muslims or something... hang on, don't!
Why did you deliberately ignore the good players we have signed and start comparing Perch and Obertan to Carroll, Enrique and Bellamy?

omg
Why do people harp on about "trophy signings", when we never signed Messi ? Would people not like Messi to play for Newcastle ?
After all this time, you STILL don't get it

Correct, the likelihood is we will sell them on for more than we paid for them and then fail to give the proceeds to the manager to invest in the team. Thats why we will never realise our potential under Ashley and thats why teams like Liverpool will continue to win trophies

Well, I say standards, this is below their hugely inflated opinion of themselves. Notice how the quotes read as 'going on to bigger things' and 'stepping stone'. The big prize still eludes them and it eats away at them. Burns inside them whilst Man U. continue to pick up title after title.
So whilst they beat their chest for the time being it must dawn on most that whilst this would be success as far as we see it, to them this is a minimal return to what has been invested. Not good enough. Carroll and the rest will still be seen as a big waste of money.
It's small comfort, I know. But when you realise the scousers support a team who's only association with 'dark times' was the Souness era, it helps a little.
