Perhaps why Newcastle Online got shot of him ;)

Are the group stages on UK telly anywhere?  BBC coverage seems paltry...

The final will be shown live on BBC Two, while the two semi-finals will be available on red button and BBC Three.

The BBC website will have team news, statistics and match reports for every game and live text commentary from the opening match, semi-finals and final.

Piers Edwards will be blogging from Angola, while Richard Connelly will be sending regular Twitter updates.

I think the group stages may be on Eurosport.

ITV4 has secured broadcast rights to live coverage and highlights from the upcoming African Cup of Nations in a new deal announced today.
ITV4 will broadcast four live games from the African Cup of Nations, which takes place from January 21st to February 12th in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea: one key game from the group stages (Ivory Coast v Burkina Faso), plus live coverage of one quarter final, one semi final and the final. There will also be comprehensive highlights programmes throughout the tournament on ITV4. Matches will also be simulcast on the ITV Football website.
Niall Sloane, ITV’s Controller of Sport said: "The African Cup of Nations is a major football event with a huge following in the UK and I’m delighted that we’ll be offering viewers free to air live coverage and highlights throughout the tournament on ITV4."
More information, including details of the presenting team and transmission times, will be announced next week here on the ITV Football website.

Funny how ITV describes Ivory Coast vs Burkina Faso as a 'key game'

It is a key game and should be entertaining.

I'm looking forward to the African goalkeeping masterclasses, personally.

Tiote sent off in warm up match. May as well come back to Newcastle while he's banned.

I think it's a 1 match ban to be honest.

Yeh. That's the more pressing matter. But I think they have a pretty good side. At least in attack. They could go a fair way. While Cote d'Ivoire are probably close to favourites.

What are the odds for a Senegal v Cote d'Ivoire final?
