I've booked a trip to Yooo-S-A again with a mate and I am spending 3 days in LA.
Anyone been? Need to know where to stay and what to do!
I quite fancied watching LA Galaxy play but they are away that weekend.

Pardew on Carroll (Dec 10) : "The number nine shirt here is legendary and he has shown the fans that he is big enough and good enough to wear it. It will be a massive, massive blow if he left so it's very important that he stays. Derek assured me that he will."
Pardew speaking about Liverpool deal with Enrique (Apr 13): There’s definitely no deal between the clubs – 100%”
Padrew speaking after losing Enrique to Liverpool (Aug 12): "We will get a striker and left-back over the line, 100%"

I'd stay around Santa Monica or Venice. Plenty of cool bars, resturants, shops etc - hang out on 3rd street promenade, venice beach and Main street. Avoid the tourist tat on Hollywood blvd. Go for a drive up Mullholland. A walk around Griffith park for a good view of the Hollywood sign. A drive up the PCH is a must but you need more than three days for that.

Aye, stay in SantaMonica, as mentioned. If you want to head to the beach, Zuma Beach is canny from what I remember.
Definitely have a wander down the Venice boardwalk, to see all the freaks.

If you're doing anything remotely cultural, this is well worth a visit:

Cheers guys.
Looking at the prices, it doesn't seem to get a lot of value for money in hotels in LA.
Santa Monica looks decent but I guess we'll have to check out Hollywood Boulevard etc

We're just booking our honeymoon to America later in the year. Doing New York, Las Vegas and then travelling up California -all over 3 weeks. We are undecided whether to stick Chicago in for a couple of days, has anyone been and is it worth bothering with?

So Jim, have I ever told you about the old country? The songs! Oh Jim, they'd melt your face.
"Ohh I live in a shoe on Moore Street, I'm a prostitute from Newry".

Chicago's nice, but I would stick with what you've got. You'll feel like you're cramming too much in, and as nice as Chicago is, there'll be tons to do in the other places you're off to.

By the way when Galaxy are away Chivas USA are usually at home, they stadium share if you're not just going to see Becks/Landon. Also the Dodgers will probably be playing when you're there if you're into that. Venice Beach is supposed to be cool too.
