Can Newcastle beat West Ham to climb the table?

After a well-deserved rest during the international break, football fans and Premier League stars are now eagerly anticipating the return to games on British soil.

While the Toon Army’s forthcoming match against 19th-place Queens Park Rangers should be a walk in the park, their later pairing with West Ham United on 29th November is sure to be an exciting match.

Currently at eighth place in the Premier League, Newcastle have some work to do if they’re to catch up with fourth-place West Ham United, who have shown themselves to be something of an underdog this season. After exiting last year’s Premier League season in 13th place, Sam Allardyce’s 11 have certainly proven themselves to be a top-four contender this year.

The Hammers’ achievements thus far this season including beating last year’s Premier League winners Manchester City in an epic showdown which saw Morgan Amalfitano score in the 21st minute followed by a 75th-minute goal from Diafra Sakho. While Pellegrini’s City managed a goal in the 77th minute, courtesy of David Silva, it was not enough to take away the coveted three points.

But are West Ham any match for this season’s Newcastle United? They too have been steadily climbing the table this season, having finished in 2013 in 10th place. Morale will surely be high too for the Magpies – the team have won their last four games, and with an upcoming match against QPR, will surely be in line for the fifth – but can they make it a sixth?

Newcastle certainly don’t have the home advantage on their side, while West Ham’s performance at home has definitely been respectable this season, having beaten Queens Park Rangers and the aforementioned Manchester City at the Boleyn Ground.

However, the Toon Army have cause to be complacent with their recent string of wins, and they also boast one secret weapon who has really come into his own of late – Spanish prodigy Ayoze Pérez. The 21-year-old has scored in the last three games against Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

So who then, will emerge victorious? It’s a question that is driving bookmakers crazy when it comes to setting the odds, and punters may be best advised to visit sites like Classicasinos to get the best return on investment as it’s really too close to call this time.

While West Ham may be keen to hold onto their top four spot, the way the Toon Army are going, they’re not going to let anything get in their way.
