Bournemouth are looking to record their first league win in 5 games, after a poor run of form that has left Eddie Howe’s men a point above the relegation zone. Bournemouth have struggled to acclimatise to Premier League football since achieving promotion from the Championship. With season long injuries to record signings Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings, as well as star striker Calum Wilson. The club are now reliant on winger Matt Ritchie and the experience of Glenn Murray up front to deliver for the team.

Newcastle United can leapfrog Bournemouth in the table with a win at the Vitality Stadium. Steve McClaren’s side achieved their first win of the season in the 6-2 demolition of Norwich two weeks ago, since then Newcastle have failed to score. Club top goal scorer Georginio Wijnaldum will be looking to add to his tally of 6 goals so far this season 4 of which came in that win against Norwich.

Match preview

This will be the 7th league meeting between the two clubs with both teams having two wins each as well as two draws. Newcastle will be looking to end their away day hoodoo having only scored three goals away from home so far this season and achieve their first win on the road this season. As for Bournemouth they’ll be looking to use the home advantage when they come against Newcastle with 5 of their 8 points coming from home fixtures so far this season.

Team news

Bournemouth will be without winger Christian Atsu (shin) and Defender Steve Cook (foot) once again. Atsu suffered the injury while on international duty with Ghana. They join Calum Wilson, Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings and Tommy Elphick all of whom have long term injuries.

Newcastle will be without Jack Colback (knee) for 6 weeks after suffering an injury in the team’s 0-0 draw with Stoke. He adds to the dilemma Steve McClaren has with the squad currently having 11 players sidelined due to injury, including long term absence Tim Krul (knee).

Betting preview

Given Bournemouth’s recent struggles and injury woes this could be another tricky day for Eddie Howe’s team. Newcastle have looked to play on the front foot in their last 5 games and will be looking at this as a huge opportunity to take all 3 points. This is already a huge 6 pointer in terms of relegation this season. Sure thing here is goals with both teams attacking and having holes at the back.

Newcastle or draw 3/4
