  3. If you can't say stuff which is undeniably right just because people don't want to hear it then we're fucked. Maybe he should just have put May's "cry wolf" speech on repeat and not spoken at all.

  4. Australia already does this, and so too now, as you have mentioned, the Netherlands.

  5. I think when Renton and I have had this argument with HF we've sort of agreed that it's all part of the deal - the middle east has been shit on and adding a toxic ideology and shit lives into the mix produces sick people. Different people probably have different mixes. As for cause and effect I'd put forward Spain - they were a happy member of the war on terror until Alcotcha and then publicly backed off - as a result they have had nor more shite.

  6. Sweden wasn't under attack before US/UK went into Iraq. The whole world has become less safe. Huge events radicalise young Moslems and obviously the foreign policy of the early/mid 00s was complelty dictated by 9/11. The thing is going into Afghanistan to wipe out bin laden was probably justifiable. Going into Iraq on a blatant and obvious lie (millions marched against it, but what did they know?) is something that can't be blamed on a twisted ideology. That action created Isis. Locking jihadists and senior bathist military officers up in the same prison whilst nicking a sovereign state's oil, after deposing the man who kept a lid on things for 40 years is something that should be pointed out to the British public as a mistake iyam.

  7. @Alex i don't think jihadi ideology was caused by UK foreign policy. uk foreign policy hasn't helped matters. i thought the iraq war was a disgrace, but do i think we wouldn't be a target for jihadis if we's stayed out? no, i don't - look at sweden. they see it as a war on the west and our values, regardless of whether the western countries they target engage in illegal wars. sweden have a pretty benign foreign policy tbf as do the germans.

  8. i've never said that Uk foreign policy in iraq didn't play a role, many times i've told you that it played a part in creating sympathy for the terrorists, aiding their recruitment. i just don't think it's the main thing to blame. only a complete moron would. i know the uk foreign policy isn't responsible for the attacks in sweden or germany, or belgium. it's the ideology that drive the attacks - the war on the crusaders and infidels.

  9. I'm not in a fucking echo chamber, I spend most of my days reading news that contradicts everything I believe I just asked a question about where your info was coming from. Apparently it's from your gut. How about this from the same article: On domestic policy, Mr Corbyn will say: "To keep you and your family safe, our approach will involve change at home and change abroad. "At home, Labour will reverse the cuts to our emergency services and police. Once again in Manchester, they have proved to be the best of us. "Austerity has to stop at the A&E ward and at the police station door. We cannot be protected and cared for on the cheap. "There will be more police on the streets under a Labour Government. And if the security services need more resources to keep track of those who wish to murder and maim, then they should get them." If this message isn't getting through, and I'm reluctant to say this, it's because the media are deliberately focusing attention elsewhere. I remain steadfast on this - telling the fucking truth about our foreign policy and its consequences is absolutely necessary, should be praised, and is entirely in keeping with who Corbyn is. If it costs him, it costs him. But he couldn't do anything else.

  10. I dunno, he'll win attention of the anti-interventionists with that. And they tend to be Kippers. He's also 100% correct IMO. Especially in this case. Where is your assessment that the public mood is that we should keep burying our heads in the sand coming from? Was it polled?

  11. Just watched park's earlier video of May as well as ewerk's. Again, pathetic. To launch a manifesto and then backtrack immediately shows us exactly how the EU negotiation will go. It'll be a shambles with May caught between a demanding public and an intransigent EU.

  12. Generally agree - it's a dishonest move. But ffs, we are where we are because we're the only ones playing by the rules anymore. 'Anything it takes' should be the mantra at this point. Hopefully they're doing deals in the background.

  13. Can you explain this bit more? I'm interested as to how this will be achieved and what will follow (genuinely)?
