  1. With its appalling human rights record, awful standard of living and widespread poverty and famine, I can't see how Sunderland would be an attractive choice for your average North Korean fan.

  2. I once met Jonas walking down dean street. We'd just qualified for Europe and I was talking to him about that and even though his lass was rabbeting on about wanting to be away he stayed for a picture. Proper friendly bloke, loved the club. He was wearing a bright purple, felt suit with loafers. What he didn't have in goals and assists he certainly made up in graft and bollocking players for not grafting.

  8. As an aside, while these two comments may make you feel good, brimming with righteous indignation, that's not how the legal system in this country can afford to work, is it? I haven't actually watched any of Dankula's videos beyond the nazi pug one because to me, he looks like a random bloke with a webcam, and not someone to whom any serious attention should be paid for political insight. Do many of his videos highlight a longstanding issue with antisemitism? Does it rear its head often? Is it even dog whistled? I suspect if there was evidence of this, it would have been raised loudly at the time. You've gone down a blind alley with this one and your comments are reactionary. This is why I don't get suckered into the press' position on everything - they want this reactionary nonsense from otherwise rational people. It is acceptable to look at things on their own terms, and make your own conclusion. And disagreeing with the press' view after doing that, does not make you antisemitic (in this instance). I'm gonna say, by the way, that I do not think there is a Jewish conspiracy running the world - I don't think there's a conspiracy full stop. I think there is a systemic problem that rewards a certain section of society disproportionately. I do not believe Israel should not exist, and I have sympathy with the fact that they are in effect surrounded by hostile nations, and that this influences their politics considerably. I do not think that Palestinians throwing rockets over the border are blameless when Israel responds. I don't even have an issue with Jewish people complaining about antisemitism in Labour. The only thing I do have an issue with, is the weaponisation of the story into apocalyptic proportions because it has the useful side effect of protecting the rich from Corbyn.

  10. I don’t know how anyone could watch that documentary and think highly of that fan base. They came across very badly imo, which is very telling of what they’re really like considering it was made by a bunch of mackems who iirc in another doc they made had the subtitles or voice over say Maradona wanted to play for Sunderland when he really said Sheffield United. As a football club they’ve played something like 2 games in Europe in history, this is why they’re champing at the bit to always create these intangible properties to their crappy club. It was classy until the club wide backing of a sexual predator, recently it’s been this ‘special club’ nonsense despite being at best a run of the mill fan base support wise (their ticket sales are shite, even needing to give free tickets away during their PL stints). They just need to wake up and realize they’re shite, they’re owned by blokes that have a lower net worth than many PL footballers, they’ve weirdly become even more arrogant as their club nose dives even further down. Shitty wretched little club with a shite fan base, I honestly don’t know how they can think themselves as some great support group when among other things in recent years they have; gave vocal support to a pervert, harrassed both of their best PL era managers (Reid and Bruce) throwing bananas and abuse at one and never accepting the other in anyway and ignoring his achievements at their club as he was born in Newcastle, and racially abused the mother of one of their best players in the PL era. All you have to do is watch when either Grabban or Bent score against them in that documentary, those are not the reactions you’d expect from former players of a club with a really special support.

  11. Er, hello. I’m mainstream media Jew. I’m as establishment as they come in Rayvin’s eyes. I even grew up in Washington (sadly the Tyne & Wear washy, not DC). So we might have more in common than he thinks - I went to a shit state school and was raised by idealistic, socialist parents who used to drag me to CND, stop the war and anti-Nazi league rallies as a young boy. They even took me to the fucking woodcraft folk.

  15. What a shame. He was a fantastic player but neither was I convinced of his coaching abilities nor his alleged behaviour. His allegiance with the current regime was questionable too. Whenever I will think about him I will try to forget about the last two decades then.

  21. I'm pretty sure that if an employer suspects an employee of being under the influence on alchohol then they have a duty to make sure they don't drive and to provide an alternative way home. It should be the same principle with the migraines you're having. @strawb would probably be the man to answer this.

  24. I accept that some Tory publications will prioritise coverage of this over something like austerity, yes. But the reason the story gets so much coverage is because the leader of the opposition is doing little to make it go away and the longer that happens the more complicit he looks. We didn’t dream this - we are talking about the leader of the opposition, a party leader who tolerates antisemtic conspiracy loons who share platforms with David fucking Icke but gives someone who has been the victim of antsemitc abuse and death threats the silent treatment for over a year. I don’t have time to reread this thread and quote you verbatim but did you not claim that this story was simply a distraction, engineered by the MSM to smear Corbyn? That the problem is confined to twitter trolls and doesn’t exist within the Labour Party? I think most people have a problem with the coverage and claim media bias because they don’t want to acknowledge that the problem exists. It goes against everything the Labour Party is supposed to stand for. That’s why it’s newsworthy. I’m glad the media is doing its job and informing people like this that it does exist and that it is indeed a serious problem.

  25. Corbyn is an incompetent leader. We can’t blame that on the media. It always should have been McDonnell, he tried but never managed it and Corbyn got lucky and reluctantly decided to give it a go at the right time, unfortunately. I’m convinced MCD would have crushed the antisemtism crisis and properly opposed Brexit in a way Corbyn hasn’t.

Forget your footballers, tennis players, track and fielders etc. The achievements of elite climbers never fails to amaze me.

  39. The secret diary of Lee Ryder aged 44 and a half 16/02/2019 Oh this year we're off to sunny Spain! Y Viva Espana! EEEh ya fucka, diary. The things ah get to do in this crazy world of following NUFC just so me loyal punters get their daily fix of Ryder hot takes of life on the United beat as Olly used to say. Ah managed to get to Murcia via an easyjet flight to Alicante then bussed the rest of the way to the United camp, 'living the fucking dream' diary! Lol. When ah fund oot aboot the trip ah thought ah'd ring rund the lads and kill two bords with one stone which is something all us seasoned hacks know is the way to get the scoops. Anyways, ah bells cockeyed Mala and he let on that Pigeon chest Campbell was thinking of having a second stag do after his first got ruined by getting drugged and bummed by a couple of rent boys in Budapest after a prank got a bit oot a hand. Like Hannibal off the A-Team, ah fucking loved it when a plan got together and thought we'd ah'll gan on the piss after the friendly v CSKA Moscow where ah'd metamorf, meteormophis, err change into Balou with the NUFC stuff and only do the bare necessities with a Rafa quote, a player quote and a 'five things' bit before giving the Spanish senorita hinnies six nowt later on! Ah'd also gave one time Spanish Toon defender, 'Sore-finger-on-my-chip' Marcelino a bell asking him to turn up so ah could tek a photo of him as ah knew he lived close by. "Senor Ryder! I am having a family BBQ that day! I cannot make it, my old friend" he said on the phone. Ah then reminded him of a certain Thomson House cleaner called Jeanette and how Senora Marcelino might want to hear a few tales when he reluctantly decided to show up! (You have to be ruthless in this game, diary, kid gloves off). Anyways, after a shite kickabout ah got a couple of quotes, took 'fingers' pic then met the lads in Murcia toon centre. Ah'd already had a few chilled sangrias pitchside in the heat and mustn't have realised the potency as we headed oot. Ah was fucking rampant winking at the Iberian fanny and any holiday makers of the female variety. Ah was fucking mortal by the time we got to a nightclub and that's where these fucking Russian booncers set their lip up. "No! This one does not come in!" said fucking Ivan number one. "What ya talking aboot ya daft cunt! ah've anny had a few!" ah said trying to stand up straight. It was then ah noticed a CSKA tattoo on his knuckle! So, he was in the huff at not beating the mighty Mags in a friendly, eh? Thought he could mess with the former foot soldier of the Toon army? Ah was aboot to swing a punch when ah realised he was probably one of the MMA Russian hardcore hooligans. Ah thought to mesel that ah couldn't spoil Pigeon chest Campbell's second stag do after the first one went Pete Tong so ah let Ivan off the hook and we staggered to a brothel where even Cock eyed Mala got his end away and Pigeon chests arsehole remained unmolested! Lol. Anyways, flights to catch, NUFC stuff to write, Punters to keep happy! Ryder and fucking out.

  40. Went to see the Charlatans and James at Wembley last night. Charlatans were canny but his voice is a bit screechy these days - makes him sound more like the manc stereotype. They did do a great version of Ever fallen in love though. James were excellent - good new songs and the hits were great.
