  1. Big difference Shelvey not playing, I thought we hit lucky Maximin coming off and Atsu coming on as I thought he was brilliant for us yesterday and I'm not always his biggest fan. Sky were fucking laughable yesterday, bullshitting about how dominant Spurs were whilst putting up a couple of graphics showing 'Spurs 0-2 NUFC' shots and 'Spurs 0-2 NUFC' shots on target as well the constant scoreline in the corner. Spurs did the square root of fuck all with the ball in the first half, we'd already wasted a great chance to score by the time Joelinton gave us the lead.

  2. Just like under the later Pardew and McClaren years it’s hard to fully enjoy the victory as you know it’s just papering over the cracks. The truth remains that we’re going nowhere under Bruce and if he’s sacked then there remains a hope that Ashley will accidentally stumble on a decent manager out there who might be able to get us a little bit excited.

  3. Lad stood behind us at WHL yesterday just knew Great day, pleased we weren’t fuckin humiliated on national tv. As much as I detest Ashley it’s difficult to not love the sheer joyful exuberance of a bunch of piss taking mags when the team wins away from home....

  4. I was pretty apathetic watching the game, which is obviously a shame as it’s a match I’d have been really excited about. I will say though listening to utter cunts like Robbie Keane whinging about not getting the pen was class With regard to Bruce, I can’t say I’m arsed about wanting him out because if it isn’t him it’ll be some other old British dinosaur, Ashley is and always will be the root of the problem and where the ire should be pointed. There is the underlying fact that Bruce is an utter cunt, immediately having a pop at the fans who have been against him is an example of that, I know it’s probably what you’d want to do but you just don’t do it and it sets him up for a fall when the results in future inevitably don’t go his way. I give him the credit he deserves for the result but before he puffs his chest out too much he should also realize Spurs could have easily won that if they had more about them with all their possession, and the penalty incident could easily have went against us. Fwiw I do sadly want us to go down. Firstly because it cuts Ashley off from the gravy train, which may make him sell, but also I just feel it’d be better for us to watch down there with the level we are under Ashley. I get that many want us to stay in the PL but personally I don’t enjoy watching us play backs to the wall most weeks, so if we’re not going to bother investing and improving we may as well watch our side give some weak teams a hiding.

  11. I said as much about Atsu on Twitter. Playing an injured player (again) and not using the squad, a pattern developing

  12. It was a penalty for me. Yes, Kane made the most of it but if he hadn't then he still would have been impeded by the falling Lascelles. I think the reason that VAR didn't give it was because the ref had already seen it and it's wasn't a clear and obvious error by him. An example of VAR working as it should do rather than re-refereeing every decision.

  13. I suspect with Bruce you’d need to hunker down for 15 pints, a lock in, followed by waking up on his living room floor with him watching an old Man Utd video in his underpants and drinking whiskey

  16. Exactly right. Though I can't help thinking his master stroke was telling them to forget everything he's told them since he arrived and just play like last year.

  17. We lost this narrowly, 3-2 but it was a class time out. It was nice to sit and watch a football game without people behaving like total knobheads.

  18. Remember this kid he's all grown up now He owns a couple of Steve Vai's famous guitars that Steve gave him the 1st ones on the Passion & Warfare cover The 2nd one featured in the video for Goin' Crazy by David Lee Roth when Vai was in his band I've recently got back in touch with Tom as I think I helped him a little bit on his journey. In August 1988 a couple of days before Donington i saw an advert saying something like Junior Jimi Hendrix play at The Percy Arms Newcastle. This intrigued me so I went along & saw this little kid playing an Ibanez Jem Floral he played Tobbaco Road bits of Euruption etc I was gobsmacked. I spoke to Tom's dad John during the interval & mentioned I was going to Donington Monsters Of Rock at the weekend. I said it was a shame they couldn't go & meet Steve Vai as I'm sure he'd be impressed. I'd only ever seen I Jem before & that was of Vai in Kerrang. It was an off the cuff remark. At the end of the night i took off my Van Halen t shirt & gave it to Tom telling him if your going to be a rock star you better start wearing t shirts like this. I wish them both well & navigated my way across Percy St to get the bus home. About 6 months later there was a documentary on BBC about guitar greats it featured Hendrix , Blackmore, Beck, Page etc. Then right at the very end they showed some footage of Tom playing at The Moira Arms in Donington. It wasnt until a few years later I found out what happened John drove Tom down to Donington managed to persuade the pub landlord to let Tom play that night. It just so happened that Vai's roadie was in the pub. He got John & Tom backstage the following day & were taken to Vai's caravan Tom plugged his guitar in started playing & Vai was blown away. The rest as they say is history Tom featured as "Little Stevie Vai" in the video for The audience Is Listening. After that Tom & Vai got some other talented youngsters together & formed a band Bad 4 Good they featured on MTV eventually Tom came back to the UK. He's now manager of a music shop in Newcastle & the last couple of years has taken up playing again. He very recently released an e.p. under the name McRoclin called Beginnings & in November support Dragonforce on their UK tour playing in Newcastle on the 14th I'm hoping to get along were me & Tom have decided to have a meet up.

  19. He’s honestly going to act like a Premier League football team in 2019 cannot afford a swimming pool? £5m-£10m doesn’t tend to get a good player these days but would massively improve the training and youth facilities. I’ve said in the past that his lack of interest in developing youth is illogical when compared to his usual stance of trying to profit. I know he’s impatient but when you look at a deal like Carroll, and the offer Man Utd gave for Longstaff it shows how much profit could be made and it’s one less first teamer he doesn’t have to buy until they do leave. If you have a good youth set up you can often shift players on for a few million quid to lower league sides which would probably cover the cost of running the academy anyway. But we’re 12 shit years into this idiots ownership and he’s clearly not fucking arsed, he’ll just keep trying it the way that’s got us relegated twice.

  20. Even I’ve been shocked by the amount of halfwits who seem to be blindly buying into the notion that ‘getting behind the team’ and ‘giving Bruce a chance’ is the only option for the ‘true fan’. Likewise nearly as many seem to think Rafa’s a greedy cunt and Ashley tried his best to keep him here to no avail. I’ll happily revel in those cunts’ misery

  21. Jesus. For the first time in fuck knows how long I just looked at virgin central (newc online) They hate Bruce even more for pulling off a more than decent victory. Very little credit being given simply because Rafa fucked off for more ££.
