  2. Sorry, but players, managers and fans are punished when mismanagement leads to administration. The reason Man Utd, Spurs, Barcelona, and the Italian clubs wanted this league is because they're so far in debt it makes a mockery of the idea of Fit and Proper. Punishment should be meted out on them, whether it's fines, points deduction, transfer embargo, banned from CL or whatever. And if the managers, players and fans are unhappy with that, they should be reminded that it's their owners who brought it upon their club.

  11. One of the highlights about this is how much people have ripped the piss out of Spurs. They finally thought they had made it but they well and truly fucked it, once again. They’re not even going to get the JPM loan to pay Mourinho’s compo. Here’s hoping they get humped in the milk cup final on Sunday just to round off a memorable week.

  22. Gotta be honest I'm kinda gutted all these clubs are dropping out of the ESL now while they still can. I was looking forward to a brighter future for the Premier league with these pricks trying to buy it gone!

  26. Sorry if any of you feel annoying with 'the other 14'. You know, my English is no so good. Is the way I have read in press and I don't think could be offensive. But I am sure, even my English was bad, I didn't say Newcastle needs Spurs to survive. I said that all of clubes or Premier League need The Big 6 to get better TV agreements. So, I am not guilty of what you want to understand.

  27. This is a Newcastle forum. I have not mentioned my club. Ewerk asked me if I liked the idea because I am Atletico Supporter and you can read that I do not agree with it at all and that, in fact, I have decided not to renew my season membership ticket. I only give my opinion of what I think will happen and, in this case, I link a news from a court that is more important than what everyone here thinks will happen.

  31. BTW can you imagine if we'd been bought by the Saudis. We'd have to be taking shifts on here to fend off all the fans turning up to ask HOW THE FUCK we had snuck from 17th in the league into the "Big X". It would have been equal parts exhausting, embarrassing and fucking hilarious.

  32. The club's couldn't have given a monkeys about the clubs in the football league one of whom was us. The league was based on sheet greed and designed to make the rich richer. How many teams are now fucked and shit scared of losing the PL money? Parachute payments etc has even skewed things for the other EFL sides who don't have it. The PL and CL was like a game of monopoly, the longer it's went on, well....look at it now. The game's been fucked for years, same clubs trying to pull the ladder up and but for the odd exception you know who's going to win stuff. This is just the next step on that ladder. I'd love to see massive and more balanced change throughout the leagues where relegation isn't an existential threat on a clubs existence or threat to a decade plus of obscurity. Whether the 6 clubs come back or not, this is the perfect time to get football sorted as even the current situation is now little more than a joke with the dice loaded with the rich 6. I welcome sky's analysis but they've said absolutely fuck all about the status quo as it's suited them to the ground. Hypocritical cunts.

  36. Aye, I don’t understand this viewpoint that these breakaway teams stand much chance of winning the legal side of things, they’re going to get mullered. I know a Liverpool fan who brought this up and said surely they have thought through all the legal side of things before doing this, I genuinely don’t think they have I think they’re arrogant enough to believe everyone else will tow the line they’re setting. As PL pointed out there’s strong rules in place that stop teams playing in external competitions, straight away that will give the PL the strong hand in any legal sense as these teams all agreed to that. KCG is also right about internationals imo, it’s the same way how international teams can force players to play international matches (recent example was Matuidi iirc). They are FIFA owned tournaments, they’ll just require you to be registered with a club that plays in an FA approved division or something of that ilk, you can’t ban them from things like the Olympics I agree, but who cares about the Olympics football competition? Fwiw Diego I think this is absolutely something that’s better to be out of than in. It’s a mechanism built on pure greed and is wholly aimed at the Chinese and US markets. The rest of the game will move on quickly, this idea that the “other 14’s” league will crumble and struggle is a complete fallacy, one that these breakaway teams want everyone to believe.

  38. I don't think it's any coincidence that Project Big Picture that Liverpool and Man U were trying to push through last season in order to 'save the Football League' also gave the 'Big Six' carte blanche to write the rules of the league.
