  1. Exactly. Bruce comes out with his “I’ve been doing this a long time” schtick and they lap it up like that counts for something. Yes Steve, you’ve been doing it a long time and you’ve achieved fuck all, your teams play clueless football, and you’re widely hated by the fans at your former clubs. Somebody should tell pundits like Jenas that keeping a team in the PL is not an achievement, it’s the absolute bare minimum. It’s like a bus driver saying “Aren’t I good, I’ve been doing this a long time, I haven’t crashed the bus and killed all the passengers once”.

  2. Bruce has never achieved anything as a PL manager and as a general proposition his teams play awful football. That should be the end of any rational discussion on Steve Bruce’s credentials.

  4. Every time a lazy pundit starts going on about our unrealistic expectations etc, a large bloke should walk on and punch them in the face. That’d put a stop to it

  5. iirc it’s a myth they were missing for most of the season anyway. A myth put about by Bruce and unchallenged by anybody in the media I should add

  6. I do also find it ridiculous that they are also always using the absence of Wilson and Saint-Maximin as a card blanche. It’s actually saying a lot about your capabilities as a manager if everything is depending on having all your best players available. It doesn’t need saying that those players make a huge difference to the quality of a team. But a manager should still be able to cope with it and make the best out of the rest of the squad. That’s where he failed miserably because he couldn’t come up with any solution. Never mind I the awful performances when he has had the full squad available.

  10. Btw someone needs to tell tr2 that AC/DC didn't mean that sort of dog! Note fair warning: Don't press on the link if you don't understand the 70/80s were a different time and then want to go all Noelie on my arse.

  12. It's not, it's just all I could be bothered to summon up in the space of the 2 mins it took me to write that. I'm not seeking to convince you mate - it's not like I actively follow his movements on here anyway, I only really notice he exists at all because of all the gifs that follow his posts. But over the course of the years we've had plenty of other mackems do this. Indeed, RTG seems to have NUFC fans who do the same thing. It's beyond me as to why it happens but there we are. I used to think as a community that we were a bit too quick to assume people were mackems, but at the same time I had to concede in the end that it mostly turned out that the community was right

  13. I always find when they play shocked that Rafa “got more respect/leeway from supporters” one of the weirdest angles the likes of Edwards work in their Bruce v Rafa obsession. Benitez earned that level of respect, Bruce has accomplished comparatively nothing as a football manager.

  15. Difficult to decide who’s more tragic here. Let’s call it a draw

  16. Less chance now of finishing higher than Rafa had us so not a bad result. We all know he’d have a dig at the fans if it did happen and his pals in the media would have a field day .

  18. Again though. It was "good old fashion British common sense" that was gonna see us avoid a second wave. And then what happened? If you had a 5 year old that kept going back to the stove and burning their hands as often as this cunt, you'd put it on gas mark 5 and be done with it. I would anyway. It's why I don't have kids.

  19. How quaint. How old fashioned. A club that isn’t run by muppets, owned by a horrible fat arsehole and isn’t happy to lose to the BIg Six in every competition as long as it squeaks to 17th place in the league every year. Masters must be livid.

  20. Class that, wish we had an owner with even half of the ambition Leicesters owner has.

  21. You could see from the scenes on the pitch with the owner what sort of a relationship the players have with him. It’s about a bit of money, a lot of ambition and a genuine desire by everyone to work together towards progressing the club. Contrast that with our perennial standoff between the players and owner over the bonus sheet. When you have a positive vision and unity then good things happen.

  23. I could only think of Michael Owen. I place more stock in Anne Frank’s opinions on drum kits than I do Michael Owen’s opinions on football (and denim).

  25. We wouldn’t have played like that v City’s first team in say January but it was a really good end of season game. Willock was plainly shafting Arteta’s missus

  26. Aye good luck KD I’ve had cancer twice and moving house was worse. We are one week (aka the flooring being fitted) from having the extension finished. Our lass has gone overboard on the spending for the “new” house. So now even the rooms I did and finished are full of shite. My head is battered and I’m skint. Been without a kitchen for getting on six months, desperate for some oven chips or something.

  28. You do also have to remember that out of the 360 minutes played in April we were utter shit for 45 minutes against Burnley, embarrassingly bad for nearly 45 minutes against ten men West Ham and for 90 minutes against Liverpool except injury time. We certainly and thankfully got very good results but it could easily have been a totally different outcome in those matches. It does also say a lot that most of those people who respond positively to Alex Bruce are Man United fans.

  29. They really don’t understand that the way they’re so abrasive and seek to shove it in people’s faces when things goes well has an impact on people’s attitude towards them when things are going bad. They’re taking the piss giving him that btw, no team did better than 2 wins and 2 draws? We didn’t even move a spot in the table in April did we? The guys still a fucking shite manager so I’m not sure why his thick son is acting like it’s some proof he’s good, also I’d been giving him the excuse he’s a lazy prick if he’s actually putting in long hours like his son says (he’s definitely not btw) that’s even more embarrassing when looking at the shambolic way the team play. As always I really can’t wait until this wanker is nothing to do with our club. “I know how much this job means to you” they realize simply repeating something doesn’t make it true.

  33. No, I'm paraphrasing what he said and don't want to make it sound worse than it is, but he wanted Gaza "raised to the ground once and for all" or words to that effect. I can sympathise a bit because someone in his block had just been killed, but the Palestine causalities are a magnitude worse. Israel's behaviour has always struck me as astonishing considering their history. Just shows as a species we learn nothing.
