  1. Limitations of the Spectrum colour palette right there. On my superior Amstrad CPC he was [checks notes] erm, maroon.

  3. Bruce there following the British Managers Lunch Club manual for getting a pay off. 1. Put in no effort 2. Achieve dismal results 3. Turn on the media 4. Blame those above you And if all else fails 5. Turn on the players

  4. Totally forgot, went into a greasy spoon a few weeks ago in Wallsend and they had this arcade machine and it was playing the star wars death Star game that was on the spectrum. The clientele were definitely hills have eyes/craggy island extras and the owners no different so the machine's probably been there since it was first out. (The sarnies were canny to be fair and fairly cheap. They don't take cards, naturally).

  5. I constantly worry about how I'll get by when I lose my job, will my pension be enough combined with my state pension and will they up the age again etc. This fucker is clearly not enjoying it, has surely built up a very comfortable nest egg already and could quite easily call it a day after a working life in football. Pride or greed? Bit of pride I'd guess, (emphasis on 'bit') but has to be sheer greed? (Unless he'll owe Ashley money if he breaks his contract, nobody's paying a compensation fee for him, let's face it).

  7. No, that's right. It was used to generate the graphics for kids TV. It had a decent keyboard but otherwise was a bit shit for games, part from Elite which was amazing. Very expensive too, for posh kids only.

  9. It's quite frightening the amount of thick cunts abound and then you realise they're weapons to be used either voting on complex issues, voting full stop are putty in the hands of dangerous players out there. If we had any semblance of a normal government the last few years would be getting looked into seriously but looks like we're too far gone at the minute.

  10. Ooh, I’ve really missed racist ethnic stereotypes in our comedy. Men in drag making gay innuendos as well. Maybe Chubby Brown can guest on the first episode of the Big Break reboot

  11. If they’re patient we won’t need to worry about the PL at all. * organises mass meeting on day of the game… no one can find where it is.

  12. I just don’t even see the point, does he genuinely do anything with training? I honestly find it fairly unlikely the lazy cunt does much and instead just delegates it to everyone else while sleeping his hangover off in his office. We have this fucking loser in charge, and Mike Ashley as owner with zero sign either will be gone anytime soon. What’s the fucking point. Btw I honestly think Bruce is the most I’ve disliked a Newcastle manager, just an absolute chancing cunt to the bone.

  13. Two points after five matches. We wouldn’t be any worse off if we had Paul Wyn as manager (which I’m a big fan of btw).

  16. Elite:Dangerous is the reimagining for the new generation. I tried it and it baffled me at the best of times so watching you lot try will be like watching a dog trying to do a card trick.

  17. I vaguely remember someone at school having a bbc computer, with a space game called elite but could have that wrong. Seems odd for the bbc to have had its brand on a computer

  18. I remember a game based on the Thompson Twins that came on a flexible 7 inch single. Freebie with C&VG, worth £35 now apparently. Never got the fucker to work, spent hours trying. I now know why. FFS! The shit we went through.

  20. Did anybody have the Shakin Stevens game that came on side 2 of the cassette version of his album, The Bop Won't Stop? No I didn't think you'd be cool enough. Obviously I was.

  21. Bitmap Books make excellent visual compendiums and histories of consoles like the Spectrum if you old-timers want to go down a nostalgia hole. Full of stories and behind the scenes chat if you’re like me and like hearing how these mentalists managed to find shortcuts around the limitations by soldering circuits together and all sorts

  26. He’s lost the plot tbh, he has been decimated in that discussion so he brings up some intangible thing like how he rates the players brought in v ones lost. ASM is better than both Rondon and Perez so Bruce gained him and since got Callum Wilson so it’s again trying to just make up excuses that aren’t there. The blokes a fucking shit manager, it’s not suddenly going to click in year 20+ of management and it clearly fucking hasn’t. It’s also fucking hilarious that he’s having a pop to “be accurate” about someone saying he said much better v marginally better but meanwhile either way he is saying a bloke has done a better job when it’s just been proofed out that he isn’t.

  27. Bruce also “inherited” Allan Saint-Maximin and 40 million pound Joelinton not to mention Wilson the season after

  28. He wants better players, he’s fighting with the fans, the players and now the higher-ups. The media can’t stand him and are picking holes in his press conferences on a daily basis and every 90 minutes is an exercise in futility and helplessness as he watches the opposition tear his flimsy game plan to shreds. All of this could be solved if he just walked away. Shame he’s such a greedy fat, money hoarding cunt

  32. Probably some kid on an clerical apprenticeship who wants to ask him what his wage will be when he's finished it as he's only getting the statutory pay for his age/apprenticeship status and on the odd occasion he gets the courage up to ask him he's told the sky will be the limit as an apprentice entrepreneur.

  36. Another loss for wine and chicken boy. In other Bruce related news he’s chipped back at Shearers comments on Ashley, it’s exactly the fucking reason Bruce can’t be given any excuses related to the failings caused by Ashley as he’s more than willing to leap to Ashley’s defence whenever he can.
