  2. I loved this match, I love this club (feels like ours again at long fucking last), and I love this team. I don't care if we ever win anything, this is what I wanted us to be again and it's back already. Just reading through the Arsenal forum match thread and they're all sat there laughing about Joelinton being our biggest weakness, how they've got nothing to worry about etc. Then the shock hits as they can't get the fucking ball. "Newcastle won't keep up this intensity, the crowd will shout themselves out, we just need to survive this then professionally dispose of them". Then we scored and they were all talking about how we were going to park the bus More stunned silence follows as they still can't get anything going and we go on to get a second. We're not some lower league makeweight happy to even be at the same table as you, Arsenal fans, you condescending pricks. When you come up here we absolutely will be going for the win, and you're gonna have to dig a lot fucking deeper than you just did to walk way with anything at all. Or you're going to get battered up and down the pitch, as you just were. Beautiful stuff, I love it. Great way to sign off the season and a shot across the fucking bow for the rest of the league.

  4. Oh what a night Should have been in bed hours ago but on such a high after that. Iā€™ve watched a bit of the atmosphere on TV but it just doesnā€™t do it justice. I donā€™t remember anything like that. So much respect for worflags and all the volunteers who made it possible. Got up nice and early so the daughter could really enjoy the build up. Went and watched the players arrive. ASM spent a good 10 minutes with all the kids signing and taking selfies. Good lad. Went to watch the Arsenal coach pull up and joined in the customary booing. Then into the stadium at 6.30. I thought the whole team were stars tonight. Even Lascelles looked commanding when he came on. Trippier was warming up right next to us and was barking orders and gesturing non stop During the lap of honour, Ghodoussi threw himself into the fans right in front of us, much to the irritation of the 3 very mean looking bodyguards. He was absolutely loving it. The singing all night was brilliant. It was the perfect party night and for once it all came together. Fuck me WE ARE GOING PLACES

  5. ā€œWho would be the perfect midfield signing for Man Utd? When that question was put to Kleberson, the 2002 World Cup winner ā€“ who was speaking in association with Paddy Power ā€“ told GOAL: ā€œIt might be a bit too soon, but the way he plays, the quality he has and the way heā€™s improved Newcastleā€™s players, Iā€™d love to see Bruno Guimaraes at Manchester United. Heā€™s doing a great job at Newcastle and itā€™s too early to move to United but heā€™s one for the future.ā€œ The bloke would legitimately be Manchester Unitedā€™s best CM (since Pogba doesnā€™t bother performing). The arrogance of these ex-man yooo players is staggering itā€™s as if they have absolutely no clue of what Manchester United have become the last ten years, and to what we are now. Sorry Kleberson but by the time heā€™s ā€œreadyā€ to play for Manchester United the real United will be miles ahead of them.

  6. Couldn't agree more. I think Krafth is also one that should not be overlooked for praise as well. He's been truly immense from the moment Trippier got injured. Who'd have thought we'd be saying that about him not 6 months ago? I thought Longstaff had a really good game yesterday too. The 'dink' in the run up to Bruno's goal was sublime.

  11. I hope we sign him cos he seems a good lad and he deserves a contract. But if we don't it'll be because Howe thinks we can do even better which would be great. Win-win.

  12. Personally I'll enjoy watching the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal flap about like fish out of water as we pass them by, let their ex-players/pseudo pundits have a few fits in the process too.

  13. I liked the post below. Coming from a fan of a team that has Visit Rwanda on their sleeves, and Emirates the airline of the UAE as not only their shirt sponsor but also their fucking stadium sponsor sure pal your lot definitely have ground to go after that. Itā€™ll be Man City fans saying it next.

  14. Only seen the second half this morning and Alan Smith shouldn't be on Arsenal games, he's biased but it probably flies under the radar with a lot of people as they've already been lulled into a stupor by his voice.

  15. Just watched the highlights back. You can hear the anguish in the voice of the sky commentator as Brunoā€™s goal wins us the three points. Delicious stuff.

  16. Yet we only had Dan Burn and Bruno on the pitch out of that spend - so Ā£48m. Meanwhile Ben White alone cost Arsenal Ā£53m so that argument is utterly futile.

  18. Unforgettable night: the performance, the result, the atmosphere. Genuinely canā€™t remember anything like that since the keegan days. Perhaps not ever. Even the east stand where I was sitting was raucous. Arsenal, honestly were nowhere near all night, we absolutely bossed it from the first kick. Thereā€™s no reason why we canā€™t be among that group of clubs challenging for Europe next season on that evidence. Joelinton and Bruno were just immense in midfield. i wonā€™t be leaving it another two years till my next home game. Weā€™re back!

  19. Ive only missed two home matches this calender year. Leicester, which i watched in a pub, and Liverpool, which i missed entirely. Almost forgotten what it feels like to lose at home. Tonight was brilliant. The flags, the atmosphere, and for me the inevitable certainty of victory from the start. We're going places. The bad time are over.

  22. Fuck that. I want Andy Robertson and a 28 year old Paolo Maldini competing for that spot.

  24. We're 12 points off 6th. When you think of some of the points we dropped in that period post-Howe's arrival where we hadn't worked out how to kill a game off yet. It's absolutely ridiculous to think but we were a few last minute equalisers from genuinely threatening the European places. They showed the league table since Christmas on Sky last night. We are 4th with Spurs in 3rd having played 3 games more than us. Just ridiculous stuff from Howe, his team, and the players.

  26. Just cut the losses with Lewis. The Lewis Losses. Heā€™s not going to get the consistent game time he needs to actually improve if we sign two left backs so just flog him. Thereā€™s no time for hoping we realise his potential when weā€™re shopping in another supermarket altogether

  27. And if you add in that 16 point deficit, it takes you to 65 points - which is what we achieved in 2011/12 when we finished 5th. So arguably we're already at that level with a summer of investment to come. Let the good times roll.
    3 points
  28. So we have 46 points, with a potential for 49. The last time we achieved 46 points or more in the PL was 2013/14 where we also ended on 49. The season we had Loic Remy, the season we won at Old Trafford for the first time in 42 years, the season when Pardew headbutted David Meyler. Debuchy, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cisse & Ameobi all played us. After 14 games our record was (with this seasons in brackets): P14 (14) W7 (0) D2 (7) L5 (7) GF17 (16) GA21 (30) GD-4 (-14) Pts23 (7) Carver, McLaren, Benitez & Bruce have been and gone and not achieved those levels. 2013/14 was a decent season for us but this year we could possibly achieve the same end result having come from a 16 point deficit on the same point in 2013/14. The job Eddie Howe and his team have done is nothing short of remarkable.

  29. Easier just to point out that we spent money and write off all the work Howeā€™s done, that way they donā€™t have to show that one of the worst managers in the history of the PL is a shit manager. Late in the game a graphic randomly flashed up showing we were the highest spenders in January this season, almost as if it was shown to ā€œgive contextā€ to why we were battering Arsenal, itā€™s interesting that they didnā€™t show how much Arsenal had spent back in summer to compare to that.

  31. Thatā€™s probably the most satisfying part of this whole resurgence for me- the new lads played a part, but it was blindingly clear what had gone on under Bruce, when you see the wholesale change in the existing squad. Him holding out for his grubby pay-off was the absolute measure of the bloke.

  33. Did anyone else hear Trippier coaching our lot as he was warming up on the touch line? Telling them where to drop in etc. Born leader that one, surely our next captain?

  34. The players have only just left the pitch apparently. CT finally got his mathematically safe party and he turned up with a 6 pint, two-day old hangover.

  35. Shout out to CT: it's 12 points now but it'll be a lot closer come the end of the season, etc, etc.
