  10. So the plan appears to.be to just repeatedly claim that this is a global problem and the govt is doing everything it can to make people's lives easier. Pure gaslighting basically. Honestly, I'm not even convinced it won't eventually work. I still don't know that it saves them, cos if you fuck people, they're still fucked whatever the reasons you claim for it. It's the lies though. I fucking despise these people. I hope horrible shit happens to them and all their families.

ALl the others are similar, she's well and truly lost the support of her base. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11261567/Liz-Truss-expected-say-WONT-reverse-economic-plans-finally-emerges-face-public.html#comments [I clicked so you don't have to].

  14. A glance back to happier times. Just something Donald Trump said to Teresa May the first time he met her. This was after asking her "Why isn't Boris Johnson Prime Minister? Did he not want the job?"

  15. Can a no-confidence in the government motion be passed? It beggars belief for MPs, even Tories to stand and say they have confidence in this shit-show. The party is utterly fucked. The members decided she was the best option to lead them. GE is the only thing that'll save this country right now.

  16. IMO they'll ride this out until they're about a year out from the election and then if the polling is broadly the same, bin her in favour of returning Johnson to power. He comes riding back in as a saviour to the country in difficult times (Churchillian), has his past magically purged clean thanks to the intermittent period of Trussonomics and resultant castastrophes, and hits the ground running with a bounce big enough to take them up towards Labour. Then the full unbridled fury of the Daily Heil will be turned against Starmer and Labour, and we'll be fighting for our lives again. If they bin her now, its too soon for Johnson to come back, and would give him too long in office to make the most of the bounce he'd get (i.e. he'd mess things up and remind everyone how useless he was, the longer he's in office before the GE). And while the longer she's in power, the more damaging it becomes for the country... the good of the country has never stopped the Tories from committing to a particular action in the past. As we all know, we are in this particular dystopian nightmare because resolving an internal conflict within the party was more important to David Cameron than what was right for the country. The party comes first, always. They will let Truss happen.

  17. The thing is these Tory MPs picked her and Sunak knowing there was a very good chance she’d be chosen by the membership. Then they nearly all jumped on the bandwagon when it became apparent she would win. They’re as much to blame as anyone but yet again they’re acting like it’s fuck all to do with them

  18. Its almost forgotten that under the tories life expectancy has started dropping for the first time in recorded history. You've got to hand it to them. They are fucking with your standard of living, housing, and pensions, but at least you won't live as long to suffer it.
