  1. On behalf of myself & the other admins and I would like to thank our Patreon Members & regular members for a very successful year for the board. in recent times it looked like we may not survive, or that'd we'd struggle to be the board we know and love. Our members are what keeps us going & what separates us from Social media or other message boards. We have some great characters, whether we're talking about football, politics, music or whether we stand or sit to wipe our arses. The other day I was quite shocked when I read the profile of someone I'd regarded as a 'newer' member only to be surprised that they'd been here for over a decade! Toontastic Patreon was set up to help us run and pay for the board. The amount this costs can fluctuate for a number of different reasons, such as software, hosting, licences and Andrew buying guitars. However, thanks to the generosity of our members It quickly became apparent that more often than not we'd have surplus income at which point we took the decision to run as a non profit organisation and donate our surplus funds to a charity of the patreon memberships choice. Initially the idea was an annual charity donation voted on by the membership. However events at the around the world and at the football club prompted us to make to earlier donations to British Red Cross Yemen (£75) & British Red Cross Ukraine (£75). This year we had some wonderful suggestions for charities to donate to, however our runaway winner was Newcastle West End Foodbank! This afternoon we were able to make a donation of £500. Before the recent Cost of Living Crisis orchestrated by the Conservative Government life was already tough enough for a vast amount of families across the country, especially the often neglected north east. This money will make a difference to people's lives & hopefully their Christmas! Once again, thank you to everyone who made this possible! Much like the football club, We go into the next year stronger, smarter and better looking than ever. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Thomas, Martin, Andrew - Rayvin & Monkeys Fist 👊🏻

  2. MLF's turned gloryhunting 1992 Mags turned gloryhunting Argies! You'd think you couldn't make it up but RTG reach the depths others don't. Outstanding, truly outstanding stuff. (Do they realise, even from themselves, especially from themselves, there's no equivalent Mags turned MLFs story, and if, in the unlikely event they do realise it, do they wonder why that is?)

  4. The Parsnip Echo chamber must feel like some kind of Daliesque mackem hellscape. No room for debate just MLF absolutes & distortions. Lee Cattermole with Bart Simpsons head blows some smoke from his vape, it forms the shape of a ship before drifting into the form of a mark lammar quiffed man taking a shite on the glass factory roof, across the wasteland under a cloud of blue pop vapour, Stuart Donald and Mr Meth Van collect the Nobel peace prize

  8. Bad day In a ridiculous true story a couple of years ago our pub quiz team used to be called Primal Scream. Embarrassingly one night Duffy was on a different team in the same pub. Came over for a chat. Lovely bloke

  9. I told you they’d mention us in nearly every thread in the main forum now the NUFC specific one is in Parsnip

  10. they're trying to raise some money for a flag display for their game against boro, £30 should do it apparently. amongst the themes discussed are a homage to lee cattermole and then we have this suggestion from thatheaderman, one of the resident slobbering cunts on the sportswashing thread and main user of the term camel humper. bearing in mind they struggled badly to spell out the 10 letters of niall quinn the mind can only boggle as to what they'd manage to write if they had to put over 30 letters in a line!

  11. Good idea actually. Next year we should each get an allowance to pay a celeb on Cameo to record a message slagging off the forum member of your choice.

  13. Good mate of mine's mother has days to live and I'm gutted for him but also just feel a bit sad full stop as I've known her since I was about 16 and despite never having a pot to piss in and a lot to deal with is just a lovely, lovely bubbly person. My pal let me know a few weeks ago how serious it was and I hadn't seen her for a few years so put that right and seen her twice since. His dad is also in hospital and doesn't yet know how imminent his wife's end probably is. I suppose it's coming or already came to most of us on here baring in mind our ages but the knowledge of it is more and more getting into my mind for my own folks. Was on the blower last night to him and what do you say? Like I say, gutted for them all.

  18. Was surprised at how upset I was last night. Strange mixture of him being the epitome of melancholy in the first place but also images of kids wandering around schools in pork pie hats and shades, some of whom didn’t make it.. Two Tone was ours, those of us too young for punk. Made awkward young lads embrace the dance floor for the first time . It was unique and of it’s time only but left a huge legacy.

  19. He became internet-famous for sprinkling salt on steak and real-life "famous" for selling said steak for ludicrous amounts at his restaurant. For a while he also flogged a gold leaf-coated steak that went for about a grand. The perfect face for a Qatar World Cup really.

  21. I quite like him, he’s usually been on the fans’ side re: NUFC. I do think that article seems to ignore that the vast majority of people enjoy World Cups via tv and not in person like him. You either realise how privileged you are to be there in his position or have a proper pop at the hypocrisy and corruption of it all. He doesn’t really do either. Football-wise it was fantastic. Even with a fairy tale ending

  25. Echo what Gloom says 100%. Him just knowing you've got his back will be an enormous help, honestly. Terry Hall has put me in a somewhat fatalistic mood today, listening to his first solo album right now which is fucking class, I'd forgotten how much. And as he said in the Specials, "Enjoy yourself, it's closer than you think". Sounds like your mate's Mam got this memo from what you've said about her. It's all any of us can try and do.

  28. Absolutely. I doubt anyone has captured the zeitgiest of the time more than the Specials (not trying to sound pompous, there really is no other word for it). And it was right in my formative years, which I think is why it is playing on my mind a bit today. But I genuinely loved his later music too, including the Colour Fields., which I will stick on today. I've seen the Specials a few times, last time would have been mouth of the Tyne festival at Tynemouth Priory, about 10 years ago (ffs!). My best memory of Hall though is when he played at the Riverside upstairs venue, I think the same night as the notorious Oassis gig downstairs (although memory may be tricking me). There was a lad at the back constantly shouting "Terry, you're a special!" because he wouldn't play any Specials songs. Terry just handled it in his own gumpy way, I didn't know then (1994 I think) he had manic depression. At this stage I preferred his other stuff anyway. But it was still a lovely intimate gig.

  34. I agree with that, especially with regards to us. When the majority of the written media were suggesting we were acting like entitled cunts for wanting better than Mike Ashley and that we were ungrateful for not recognising his financial management, Winter has always said it for what it actually was - that we just wanted a team that tries.

  35. That’s spot on like. I don’t think he’s a cunt tbh, he talks a lot of sense about the game in general. He is being very sniffy about the last month though. He says it wasn’t as good as 2006 or 2016, tbh I strongly disagree with that but as you say he’ll have a far different perspective than we do on it all.

  40. I want us to lose so we can concentrate on not getting relegated. Oh wait, do I fuck, that is so <2021....... The balmy heat we suddenly have will suit those Southern ponces, so I anticipate a mere 4-0 win for us unfortunately.

  41. Listen here Private Pissy Pants, we're 3rd and that's unbelievable, but we are categorically not in the title hunt. Not yet. We'd need to improve our form beyond the spectacular return we're seeing now. You flit between hubris and pessimism quick as a hiccough. It must be exhausting. It's exhausting to watch. But I cannot imagine living a life that oscillates so.
