I embarrassed myself showing my age at a works night in Lane 7 the other day. Fancied a game of the old silver ball which was a quid a go. Went to the bar to ask for change, but they told me they were cashless. I was a bit scoobied by this, and asked how can I get pound coins for the pinballs? Turns out you get credits on them through contactless as well. Eeeh, isn't technology amazing? Anyway, some of the fucking kids at my work had never even seen a real pinball machine before ffs. Tbf I blew them away with my Tommyesque skills. As I get older I am losing my sight and hearing a bit too as it happens, as well as my libido and bladder control. But at least I'm still a wizard on the whiffle boards. 👍

My first missus at the time was working on secondment for KPMG in their London office at the time and just by chance was in Newcastle for a meeting when the tickets went on sale and was lucky enough to get two. She knew I was coming over to see her for Easter and we'd planned a trip to Paris but after getting the tickets we went via Eindhoven. Was fucking amazing, the fans for both sides were great with each other and pub we stayed at couldn't understand why two Australians were there to see a Newcastle match. I remember there was a chip van in the city that made the best chips I've ever had, no you can keep the mayo thanks. Unfortunately that was also the last trip with the missus, as six months later she can home, packed up her stuff and fucked off to London permanently. Oh well, at least we didn't lose.

I'm just going to say it. It's bothered me for years. I don't think Harry Kane is any good. At all. I think if he played for Southampton or Wolves or even West Ham, we'd never hear a word about him and there'd not even be a whisper of an England call-up. He's a slightly above average PL striker, hence why no bigger club than Spurs was ever willing to go in for him, also considering his injury record and the monumental price tag it would take to sign him. He just doesn't represent value for money because he's not actually going to improve your side. He can score loads against Panama and Everton (similar level of opposition quality) but in big games he goes missing, North London derbies excepted, and forget his record in big tournaments for England. It doesn't even bear mentioning. He's massively overrated, mentioning him in the same breath as Shearer and even Phillips is a joke.
