I've been offered a decent enough paid job at a good, growing company, still shifts but only 8's and maybe the odd half a shift on a Saturday morning every three weeks. It's been three months since I was made redundant and things were looking bleak job wise after I'd exhausted some good early leads because some of the few jobs available belonged in a Dicken's novel just going on the T&Cs. I honestly feel like crying with the relief of it. Easy to get to and no bad traffic time starts. Thank christ for that. Aaaaand breathe....16 points

If we take stock of the season now weâve had some memorable times Smashing Man Utd away, beartng Man City in the cup, playing Cl football, destroying PSG, nearly winning in Paris, mackems, sheff utd away. Etc We have been knocked out of cup v Chelsea away in the quarters of league cup, will most likely get knocked out of quarters in FA cup v Man City and still have a chance of qualifying for Europe despite an unprecedented injury crisis. I personally think itâs been a good season when you take a short look back. Think of where we were 2 years ago. If we qualify for Europe I think it will be an amazing season but if we donât weâll have learned and be better next season.15 points

Letâs not be miserly in praise of the nippers here- theyâve beaten 3/5ths of the side that would give Madrid and PSG a run for their money. On their home turf.13 points

Well, the newest member of the Fishy family was born today. 12:14, weighing a healthy 8lbs 11oz (3.94kg). Baby Girl Fish seems pretty chill so far, but has a powerful set of lungs when riled. Hopefully get back home tomorrow. No way am I sleeping tonight, on a semi-comfortable chair in a ward of 4 newborns. Mrs Fish is spark out, so the little'un. NHS staff have been amazing.12 points

"Looka here bonny lad, ah bumped into Steve Nickson at Newcastle airport, ah was going to Beni with the lads for a long weekend and he said him and his lass were doing the same thing but going to Milan. He reckons their lass got a good deal if they flew to Bergamo and got the train to Milan as it's near. He might be telling the truth, he might not, but in this game you've got to chuck the odd dart in the hope of a bullseye, so NUFC in for Ederson from Atalanta?...... .....Why not? Lol. Ryder and fucking out, wor kid!"12 points

I really hope he doesnât go to the Euros with England. He got very little break last summer and has played a lot of football this season so could definitely do with some time off to spend with his missusâ massive chebs.12 points

Turns out we've signed a deal with JD Sports to be the only 3rd party retailer of next seasons shirt (outside of the club/Adidas). Fat Mike is fuming https://www.catribunal.org.uk/sites/cat/files/2024-03/16375724 - Sports Direct v Newcastle United - Summary of claim 21 Mar 2024.pdf11 points

Our lass has had her colonoscopy and itâs all clear. Thank fuck. Been in James Cook all week with my brother because his fits were out of control, then drove down last night and spent all day today in the arse inspection unit of the MRI. Great week.11 points

"Retro's where it's at, mate. Nee one gives a fuck about Matt Targett when they can get my WORLD exclusive from Kieron Dyer about THAT time he and Lee Bowyer came to blows against Villa and Steven Taylor was that shocked he clutched his chest, fell down saying, 'I think I'm about to have a cardiac arrest, lads!'11 points

They're changing the rules this summer arenât they? I have a feeling that will somehow make Chelseaâs issues go away. Theyâre a ticking time bomb when it comes to FFP, theyâll get hit with a massive player amortization amount every year and theyâre going to have to basically make large profits on player trading every year to offset it. Itâs massively risky and probably inevitable that they will have a window where they canât shift enough to cover the large expense, but for the time being theyâre managing to do it (Gallagher and the sale of Hall seem to be two large profits theyâre trying for this summer). Football was far and away better without VAR and FFP.10 points

I'm loving this new version of the Premier League where the games are played and every decision is reviewed by teenage geeks watching detailed frame by frame replays and then league positions are awarded depending on the strength of your team of accounting consultants... Its absolutely thrilling10 points

Anyone calling for Eddie to go is a petulant know-nowt fuckwit. Given the complete asset strip that Fatman did on the club- players, staff, facilities, the fucking lot, for us to have made the CL, reached a cup final, still be in with a shout of a Euro spot, not to mention avoiding relegation when we were dead in the fucking water, gives him more than enough breathing space when the inevitable dip in performance from a paper thin squad comes. In terms of the rebuild heâs doing, weâve dug the foundations and have the blueprints. Thatâs it.10 points

I've posted the photo below before in a discussion about remembrance day. The young man standing and kilted is my great uncle Gordon, he was killed in action in 2015 at the battle of Loos, he has no known grave. We have all his letters up to his death (and letters afterwards from the war office and his comrades). Reading them over the years I feel like I knew Gordon. Well today I received a letter from the MoD, they think they've found him !!! 100 sets of remains were discovered whilst a hospital extension was being built in Lens next to Loos. What makes them think this one particular set is Gordon is that he was found with some buttons from Newcastle Tramways Corporation (weird eh?), my Great Grandfather (retired Sgt Major seated in photo) was Chief Inspector of Newcastle Tramways when he retired from the army. Too much of a coincidence surely. DNA kit awaited to confirm. Excited and quite emotional here !!! (The bairn is my grandfather)9 points
