1. Liar, I've heard the moans from across town....oooh, debit, aaahh credit, hmm stop it you naughty suspense account you!
2. I have heard he is on an unbelievable deal - I believe £500k is well short of the mark!
3. Aaaaah, Bobby's jokes - excellent!
4. But you are fruit, right? You like a bit of fudge up your choccy-locker, aye?
5. It was a classic Bramble performance on Saturday, I said to my mate beside me after 20 minutes - "look at Bramble, he is wandering all over the place like he is in a daze - he is definetely going to have one of those days" - and unfortunatley I was right. The guy has the physical attributes but none of the mental attributes needed to be a top class defender.
6. Yep, I just had a look at a few of the recent bannings..my god.
7. I'm not quite sure what's going on, the mods have gone from "Don't like it? Tough, it's crucial to the forum" to "OK, if it goes, it goes, I didn't care about it anyway". I can only assume Mr Admin has made a royal visit to the forums, seen the mods acting like rampaging chimps and overruled them. It's even starting to look like people wont have to have their thread rubber stamped by some emotionally crippled adolescent before it appears in the NUFC forum Agreed mate agreed.
8. Has he put weight on in that picture, something is different
9. Amusing but totally out of order, when the Mods get talked down to that's how they reply!
10. That's it, I've had it, I tried to stick it out but its gone mod f*cking tastic over there with a touch of looney tunes!
11. It was quite amusing (not for an aussie mind) at one point in the game when they put up on the big screen the fact that Lewis had become the most expensive bowler in the history of ODI's. How to kick a man when he is down!
12. He must have taken too much Lucozade!!!
13. My lass' brother is going, even though he is a mackem, sometimes I do feel for him, they do even worse than us down there and as most of us know its a long way back! But then he will come out with some p*sh like Owen is cr*p and my sentiment dissapears quite quickly!
14. Ramage at left back is a nonesense! you can't expect a player of his experience, who is right footed and a CB to play in the premiership in the specialist role of LB. Yeah Taylor did it a couple of times, but it doesn't mean it was ideal and in fact it really weakens our already weak defence. I just don't understand the mentality that presumes that we can just 'stick' players in other positions to 'fill a gap' and that we will get away with it.
15. Then it is Elliot - phew, no worries there then!
16. What happens if Babayaro gets injured tomorrow? I take it you would be happy with Taylor or Elliot filling in for a few weeks?
17. I'd rather get a decent defender than Solano right now!
18. Souness last season got us 14th place with some of the worst performances I have seen at St. James park for over 14 years. So far this season we are 2nd bottom, no goals, weaker defence and are producing even worse performances than last year. Pardon me for not being particularly confident that he is capable of doing the job!
19. You've answered your own question. The reports of him being worth 15-20m were "crap". 24669 Thats fair but I question whether the sale has been for tactical reasons, more to balance the books. I have been a big critic of Jenas but with our injury record selling players may come back to haunt us! 24681 I know what you're saying, but I don't see how selling a player who's been nothing but disappointing for us on at a profit can be anything but a good thing. Keeping him in as "another warm body" in case of injuries when he's clearly a very saleable asset wouldn't make any sense. 24698 Yep, thats fair comment and I have to agree, I just can't stop worrying about our lack of players, but your right, my concern actually isn't in centre midfield, its definetley more wing and defence orientated!
20. We know that we have a good squad. We also had a squad that was better than 14th on the paper. You pointed out to Souness good run last season. Sorry, but at two stages in the season we won a couple of games against second rate European teams and English teams like Coventry and Yeovil. Except that we got tonked at home a couple of times, played very poor football overall. The last goal at home scored by a Newcastle player in March. The signing of Owen has appeased a few. I was prepared to give him time after his first radio interview which turned out to be a great PR stunt. "The best team I have ever managed." "I am the most attacking minded manager the club ever had." "The club won't need an overhaul." "It is just about some fine tuning." etc. Those obviously were blatant lies. He hasn't been able to fulfil one of these promises. He demanded a complete overhaul. He played crap football and even the defensive record got worse. His only consistency is coming from searching for excuses. Souness had more then 50 games. 90% of them were crap. For me he had enough chances to demonstrate that he isn't capable of doing the job. 24691 Completely agree!

22. You're definitely right about people being too hard on him when he first came. A lot of people had made their minds up before he'd even managed one game. To be fair the jury is still out, but he certainly wasn't given a fair crack of the whip by a lot of people. 24634 Definitley mate. I think Parker, Luque and Emre are collectivley better signings than Owen for £17m but even last week Souness was being called every name under the sun? The team was booed off on Sunday and the Souness out campaign continued. Yet suddenly signing Owen sounds as if everyone thinks your troubles will go. They won't. He's forging an excellent first team (squad ain't great) and brought in players to play good football and he's won a HUGE PR battle with the signing of Owen but things wont click into place overnight. Owen will have a miserable time feeding off scraps (he did that enough after 2001 with Houllier). Newcastle need some patience I think. I've backed you for 6th place personally. 24646 Patience is one of the key ingredients to a successful side IMO! 24654 Aye and patience may be the key to a relegation battle the way we have been playing!
23. Thats a joke, what happened to the cr*p about him being worth 15-20m! Payable over installments! I think that is a poor piece of business!
