As if things weren’t bad enough for Newcastle United after relegation to the English Championship and mounting debts as the club struggles to offload big earners from their contracts, they have now revealed a contender for our worst 10 football kits of all time.
Manufactured by Adidas, the Newcastle away shirt for the 2009-10 season is a two-tone yellow colour which has got to be a strong contender for the worst football shirt of the new campaign.
It’s going to be hard enough attracting players to play for the club in the Championship without making them suffer the indignity of playing their away matches in this soccer jersey.
There is yellow piping around the edge of the collar. Somewhat appropriately, this football shirt is sponsored by Northern Rock. To compound the matter, the will be worn with yellow shorts and socks.
The kit will be available to pre-order from 11am on Monday June 22 and is launched on Thursday, July 23.
