  1. When is Ben Arfa due back? For the love of God I hope its soon. Providing his leg isn't permanently crocked, He's the only pacey attacking player who can finish.
  2. Hello, I'm currently looking into tickets for the Liverpool game. It will be the first time for a long time that I've seen Newcastle play at home, and am looking for advice on where best to sit, difference in atmosphere between stands, that sort of thing. Not bothered about price, I just want to be sure that I can actually see that its Newcastle I'm watching. Cheers in advance.
  3. I sense a humiliating defeat and possibly an N'Zogbia hatrick on the cards...
  4. Cant see us scoring again unless something magic happens, like a Barton overhead kick from the halfway line.
  5. As good as he may be, we need at least 2/3 attacking players to do well this season. Sigh.
  6. I'm a rational, free-thinking atheist. I don't mind if people are religious. If it gets you through the day, then it gets you through the day. However, for better or worse, I can't help but treat people who claim to be religious like they have a mild learning difficulty. I'm never really sure what to say to a full-grown adult who believes in heaven or hell as a concept. I just ask them if they're okay a lot and make sure they have enough to eat/drink.
  7. I would love it, love it, if it was true.
  8. Hopefully Hughton was just experimenting and he'll put his lab coat back on the peg after today's match. I have a horrible feeling that this isn't the case though Reminds me of the bonkers tactics he used away from home last season, the awful televised draw at Leicester springs to mind.
  9. No. Too old. Less than 1 in 4 last season. Also a blatant press fabrication.
  10. From the looks of it Hughton is hedging his bets. He is trying to sign players that he knows will stay if we get relegated, and will be good enough to get us out of the Championship season after next. I don't know what else Perch, Gosling (whenever that finally happens) and supposedly being in for Hooper would indicate. They are all young players with sell on value, but I havent seen any of them play so I cant rate them. Odd choices for a Premeirship dogfight though.
  11. I am worried by this news. Giving Carroll the No.9, while good for giving him a confidence boost, to me implies that we aren't getting a striker this summer. I think if we are going to consolidate our position as a Premiership side, we need to sign at least one striker who is a proven goal scorer in the top flight. Granted Carroll is the best of what we have, and is the only striker I have faith in to do well next year. Lovenkrands should not be his regular partner, as he is not an out-and-out striker, more an attacking wide player. Best and Shola I wouldn't even have on the bench in an ideal world. Still, good luck to Carroll. With the right guidence he could become a good premiership striker in 2-3 years.
  12. Criminal. Could have done a good job for us.
  13. This may just be me, but I'm really shocked we haven't grabbed Kris Boyd yet. I know he's unproven in the Premiership, but at near enough 1 in 2 goal scoring average, he must be worth a punt. Especially as he's free and he actually sounds like he wants to play for us. We still need one out and out striker at least, as the only striker we have that could do well in the Prem is Carrol. I see Lovenkrands as more of a winger who occaisionally plays up front than a striker. Ameobi, Best, Xisco will not even cut it as back up IMO, which is why we should be in for Boyd, even as a squad player.
  14. As am I...try and guess which team is mine.
  15. I can't wait to start my Masters there in september!
