  1. Hahahaha. Different board, same Shaun. Enjoy him TT dwellers.
  2. We've been handed a winnable tie. We should do the decent thing and go and win it. By all means rest one or two but it should be a as near to full strength as feasibly possible. I'd consider going to this, but having been to the league cup game at Posh, I'd really want to know before I commited the cash if we were going to try and win it or not.
  3. I was disappointed in Swansea to be honest. Having watched them a few times on the telly they have always seemed very incisive with their passing, in a kind of cheaper welsh arsenal sort of way. They had plenty of the ball but frankly only little Dyer ever looked threatening. They had a couple of chances but very rarely got round the back of us. Colo was inspired, he had a real none shall pass attitude about him. Although overall Harewood was poor he did put two in the bag, and it was nice to hear him getting cheered off when he was subbed as opposed to the booing in previous matches. Lovenkrands was far better than Marlon, Nolan and Smith were pretty quiet but effective. Enrique was at times a bit dodgy and the tagline 'flits in and out of matches' will surely be on Jonas gravestone. Would have been nice to see us go on in the second half but I have a feeling the players were told to concentrate on keeping it tight as opposed to go for more goals. It's funny how many managers do that, as it seems to me to be a dangerous tactic. With a bit of clinical finishing Swansea could well have been back in the game, and once you take your foot off the gas in matches it can be hard to get it back on. On a side note, I took my boy (who is the biggest Chelsea fan of all my sprogs) up to the game. He loved it, couldn't get over how big SJP was. I told him that as he has never actually been to Stamford Bridge under the rules of football supporting he is now officially a Toon fan. He looked upset.
  4. Aussies, Poms, Kiwis and Saffers. Sounds like Saturday night in Shepherd's Bush Walkabout. Actually, thinking about it, I bet all the southern hemisphere theme bars are absolutely creaming their pants at the thought of all pissed up antipodes now having an interest in the World Cup. It could get messy.
  5. Only spotted it myself at about 7.08 I'm afraid. Like my school report always said, must try harder.
  6. ESPN's premier classics are showing the game between NUFC and Liverpool in November 1993. Should be a good watch if you want some nostaligia.
  7. I could be in for a cut. £30-£50 sounds about fair to me. I certainly couldn't afford any more than that.
  8. I always thought she was decent to look at but she always struck me as being a bit of a twat. Having said that she came accross really well in the interview and I learnt some stuff about her I hadn't been bothered to find out. She was always the one out of the two you would drag down an alley mind, filty bitch. I feel for all the young Xfactor boys. She just looks like she's ready to rape them at any moment.
  9. I'm confident we can do this one, which is unusual for me. SUFC 1 NUFC 3 Scorers: Carroll Nolan Raylor
  10. Obviously I don't know you Parky but I feel for you all the same. However hard it is I am certain you have done the right thing in the long run. My ex-wife (mother of the chelsea two) was at it with one of my 'friends'. Despite being caught lying through her teeth and even being seen virtually at it with him whilst we were all out clubbing she denied it. I let her off but she was soon at it again with him and another fella, with rumours of more. It took a lot of strength for me to walk away but you can't let people treat you like a something they trod in. I went on a two year birds and booze session after we split, not the socially acceptable thing to do I know but it made me feel better. This culminated in me metting my now wife, who is a million percent mark up on the previous version. Having said that I'm jealous that you are heading back to Newcastle, my visits to the toon are fleeting and it's almost worth leaving the wife to spend more time there, almost. Chin up and let your mates do what they can for you because they are worth more than any bird.
  11. Personally, as a devout Christian Creationalist, I'm finding all this talk deeply offensive and I want you all banned. How dare you question the almighty and his works. He has a plan for you all and if he wants to warm the world up and burn all you mo' fo's then that's what he's going to do. I know my place in the afterlife is secure, as I sacrificed a few unicorns the other day.
  12. Oh well, can't please everyone can you. If you live round my way, which I assume you don't, if you don't put your recycling out (or if you put it in the wrong container) you are liable to be fined by the local council, and yes I know people who have actually been fined. It's happening in a lot of boroughs. Easy money. Before the Olympics last year there were many pieces of investigative journalism which looked into the shipping of western 'recycling' to dumps in China. Farmers who previously earned a couple of quid a month were earning hundreds a week by going through the rubbish and pulling out all the plastics and electricals which they could sell on to the maufacturing companies. Here's a few articles I found in about one second on google. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2004/sep...vironment.china http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews...cheap-fuel.html http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Sky-News-.../20080641246242 Personally I'm not too fussed what one group of scientists say. Another group will offer a different conclusion. I conclude that, in general, the group will reach the conclusion that the people who are paying for the study want them to reach. Call me cynical if you like. Finally, I might well be an Omnivore but there is very little of the Omni going on. I don't eat a great deal of veg and pretty much everything I eat is meat based.
  13. Really, I make him 100 times worse, at least. He's just a little higher on the scale than Ashley IMO.
  14. Top man is Graham Wood. He was Chairman of my local team, Hampton & Richmond Brough, until the opportunity arose for him to take over at his beloved Gateshead. He sold his 25% share in H&RBFC to the newly formed supporters trust (worth approx 30k) for a nominall fee of £1. As a result the fans of H&RBFC now have a representative on the board and a real say in the running of the club. Everyone at 'The Beavers' is grateful for what Graham has done for us. As someone who watches a fair bit of non-league footy, I'd have to say I can see the point with peoples concern about the size of stadiumn compared to attendances but it's all down to the FA regulations on stadia. To get in the conference you need a capacity of 4500 with planning permission in place to achieve 5500 within a year. I believe the minimum requirements for the football league are 6000 for league two, although they do tend to give clubs a lot of time to get it done. Good luck to them I say, every club deserves the opportunity to improve themselves and go as far as they can. If they've got a guy who's prepared to put his hand in his pocket for the good of the club then long may it continue. The BSP is a hard division with many clubs fighting out for the holy grail of the football league. PS, I hope they beat Brentford in the cup. Can't stand them.
  15. When staying at the premier inn by team valley this weekend, my wife perused the menu and pointed out to me that the restaurant had only one vegi meal on it. And quite bloody right too I said. I can't stand all the bleating about the poor little fluffy animals and the like. I love Meat. I love Fish. It tastes nice. Would you tell a lion not to savage a zebra? No, you wouldn't. I'm a carnivore, that's the way God (if he exsists - but that's another arguement) made me. Who am I to argue? Even worse is all this environmental nonsense. The climate of this planet has been constantly changing for millions of years. It gets hot and it cools down. The water rises and falls. Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Tsunami and Hurricanes have always happened. IMO the evidence for man having an effect on the planet is sketchy at best. I could go further and say that to think that less than 200 years of industrialisation has overturned the previous hundreds of millions of years where nature ruled supreme is, well, a little arrogant on the part of man. And as for recycling, it's just a way of getting money out of you. They introduce it so they can fine you for not doing it. Something like 80% of the recycling we do in the UK is sent to be 'disposed of' overseas. A big fat con. There are far more worrying things at the minute that should be concerning the population of this country. Like the breakdown of the family unit, the rise of the feral child and progress of ridiculous pieces of legislation like the Health & Safety Act and the Human Rights Act.
  16. First time I've been to SJP this season and, firstly, I'm delighted we won and it was an exciting game. I've only just got back as I spent the weekend visiting family in Durham. Mostly, however, the performance was shocking bar a few decent patches. After big andy's header in the first half I didn't think I'd see a worse finish for a long while but he went and outdid himself in the second half. And then he goes and smashes in the most difficult chance he had all game. It's no wonder people can get so infuriated with players. Still, cracking goal to send the place mental. I took the wife along to her first game (ever - anywhere!!) and even she could see that Jonas was terrible. She took to referring to him as 'the big girl' after twenty of minutes of watching him jump out of tackles, fall over, dangle his foot at balls coming his way and generally flop his hair about. I though Butt was also really poor, for a player of his experience to make the mistakes he does is ridiculous. Harewood did very little and I can see why he is getting a hard time from the fans who have seen him over the past few weeks. Other than that I was really impressed with Enrique. I never really got him before but seeing him live I could really appreciate the energy he puts in. Nolan didn't do much but he does look a class above when he has the ball compared to the company he is keeping in this division, and he hit the net again so can't really ask for more. We did seem a little off balance with Guthrie playing right as he spent a lot of the time playing central which meant a big hole infront of Ryan Taylor. Ranger seemed to inject some desire into the team so for that alone he needs to start above Harewood. The difference between them was vast. At least it was a win to break the run of poor of results, something to build on for the next game.
  17. Not if they lose tonight you won't. Unless you gonna go to Salford?
  18. FA CUP 3rd Qual Replay isn't it?? For the right to host the mighty AFC Telford on Saturday. I don't mind a bit of non-league myself. My local side are playing Sutton Utd in the 4th Qual on saturday, won't be there though as I'm up for the donny game. In my dreams it'll be NUFC vs Hampton and Richmond in the third round. Anyway, back to tonight. Scrappy game. Somehow we scrape a 2-1 win. Maybe off of Harewood's arse.
  19. You do have a problem with photos, don't you. Bearing in mind the saying a picture paints a thousand words and your sparse use off words in each post, I am only suprised you choose not to use them yourself. Are chomps only 10p there? Bastards are ripping us off here. Not much use doing one if you're an anglo Australian, you can only ever go back as far as 1788 Yeah, and they all end up in the same place, yr'honor.
  20. Chris should have told him to get stuffed. If Mike Ashley sells the club he will get binned off, probably with no compo. If he doesn't sell the club Chris is on a hiding to nothing, with no money to build the squad and more than likely players sold in January we'll do well to get a playoff spot. Basically either way he get's a shafted. Way to repay someone who has remained dignified and worked hard in an impossible situation.
  21. My old dear has gone back about 300 years or so with her family. She tells me it's interesting stuff. I'm not convinced.
  22. Decent bloke is Winstone by all accounts. My mate Lee Devonshire (son of Alan) knows him well as he's a big West Ham fan, he's been down to Hampton & Richmond Borough (where Alan is the manager) for some celebrity matches and is always happy to talk to the ordinary folk. I love Sexy Beast, one of my favourite films ever. But I can't stand him on those Bet365 adverts, he really wrings every last little ounce of east end cockney talk he can into it. Have to say though, what a recovery from the archives for this thread. Nearly three years dormant and then boom, it's coming at ya like cleopatra.
  23. I won't mention him again, it was just the barbers thread and the photo on "to dumb's" profile reminded me that I had met him.
  24. There was a lot more to him than that business with the irish bird, and anyway, what a cock teasing little whore she was. I'd have paid good money to see her tied up and .......I'll stop there before I get in trouble. Anyway, I just liked his who gives a fuck attitude to the rules of the show, and when I met him he was exactly the same in real life.
  25. Previous to the latest series I've only watched one of it's incarnations with any real interest (the one where the camp norfolk hairdresser had the unhealthy obsession with the geordie dancer, and the fat lass stuck a wine bottle up her chuff). And I only watched this one because I found Marcus a great watch, after he was evicted I didn't watch any of it.
