  1. I had to sit in the Gallowgate for the first few games of the season (Due to being bamboozled by the membership policy to sit in the leazes corner) and it was absolutely twatful for atmosphere, id rather chew a ballsack than move to anywhere else than the Leazes corner But i think to have a good atmosphere at St James' its gotta be a night time game, there has to bebanter between the two sets of fans and the teams gotta look like were at least gonna get something out of the game, and unfortunately the Everton and Bolton games had none of the above from what i can recall
  2. Add is on N e a r Y x and i'll hand your arses to you's when i've got the time
  3. It's ALWAYS sunny in Whitley Bay, so I don't have that to look forward to. Looks like you've just gotta keep your fingers crossed Spanish city gets rebuilt, or your gonna have a shyte summer
  4. The only plus point a toon fan will have this summer is that it might get canny sunny
  5. I think he done a hammy or his calf
  6. Aye thats what i reckon, just goes in, gets the job done, theres no hassle about him, i thought he'd struggle but he's been top notch
  7. What about that Jarvis lad from Wolves for a winger? I'll be honest ive never seen much of him, but whenever pundits etc go on about Wolves he always seems to get a mention, anyone know much of him and if he's alright?
  8. These last two games aint been as atmospheric in the corner, it aint been the same from what i'm used too, we had better atmospheres in the Championship last year than weve had in some Premiership games, but thats probably down to us battering teams last year and having wave after wave of attack, and due to most of the games we played at home last year were night time games, and they always seem to have a better atmosphere than day-time games
  9. Coloccini's came into his own this past 18-20 month been our outstanding performer on a number of occasions, it is looking like £10 million was an alright deal. I reckon Williamson's been alright, i thought he would crumble in the Premiership, but he's proved is wrong and been pretty good, sometimes you watch him and think "fucking hell what you doing" but then seems to get out of it with a decent tackle
  10. I can see Lovenkrands maybe going back to Denmark at the end of the season, he just seems to be anonymous to much in the games he played in unfortunately, i don't see us ever selling Shola if i'm honest he's a cult hero just a shame he's usually shyte or injured i reckon we should keep Best even though he'll be third/fourth choice if we hopefully get 2 strikers in but he seems to put in a shift he just needs to learn the offside rule and Ranger will need to go out on loan or he's just never gonna develop and be another youngster that just fizzles out into obscurity at Newcastle
  11. Lets get that sorted the morra, tbh. Got the Toon on my accumulator, not gonna happen! I went mental at my brother for putting them on his accumulator, its an unwritten rule you never bet on the toon, it always jinxes the buggers And it's Newcastle over England everytime, to be quite honest, i couldn't care if England win, lose or draw, the only time i support them is when a toon player is in the team
  12. He was the worst of a shyte bunch today, too many basic defensive errors in his game today
  13. Aye and a good ruckin' from wor Cheryl if he'd have shot Ashley
  14. Correct. Whilst coaching the kids i tried this out quite a bit...especially as a few of them just loved running so in turn got turned into fullbacks. Two of the lads i coached are now on youth contracts at sunderland. My point is if you have a squad who are willing to listen and adapt then its a very strong formation both in attack and defence. Wing backs HAVE to be hard working for it to work though and personally i think Enrique and Simpson would do well in that shape. I get where your coming from, but it wasn't Premiership football was it? No doubt it looks good on paper but playing it for 90 minutes against a good Premiership team and familiarising each player with a different position and tactics in just one week, IMO it would't work, plus i think having Enrique out on the left by himself would totally nullify his threat going forward and defensively, fair enough Gutierrez is poor but he does link up well with Enrique Nobody knows until you try it. Pardew tried something similar against Bolton and we looked decent. Edit: At times in second half. Enrique down the left on his own would probably suit him mate...Jonas doesnt offer alot these days and i think having the protection of 3 CB's and 3 in the engine room he would have more licence to do what he does best. I do know where your coming from, don't get me wrong, but i think it's a bit one dimensional, more than 70% of our play comes down the left hand side, and Enrique thrives playing behind Gutierrez as he overlaps Gutierrez's runs and when Gutierrez goes far wide it gives Enrique the chance to drive infield with the ball, a thing which he's doing more and more and i think having Enrique being out there by himself, he'd just get frustrated as he'd be unable to do the runs he does with a player infront of him, he's got a cracking engine and is IMO the best LB around atm but i think its asking a bit much of him Also i think we'll have a problem scoring goals with one upfront, and going back to the point i made before not only Enrique would have to adapt to a new position but most of the team will and the tactics would have to completely change too I mean no disrespect mate but your clueless. One dimensional? Anything but fella, solid through the middle meaning barton seeing more of the ball in the crucial area of the pitch. As too with Nolan or Ireland...and keeping the width. More width probably. One striker...Yeah we need a new striker or two anyways dont we? But with Ben Arfa in the whole we'd get goals. Your opinion on Enrique is bollocks too mate, he doesnt need Jonas at all and he wouldnt need to adapt to fullback...he already plays as one but with more restraints. Are you actually serious? It may work on Football Manager or Fifa but in the Premiership, Howay man, think about it? As PaddockLad said no one plays it anymore because it isn't successful, Enrique is the best LB around but he cant do the work of 2 men, and neither can Simpson, your asking them to attack, defend, cover both the oppositions wide men and get out wide without the opposition picking them up and marking them out the game? And your saying about Ben Arfa, Barton etc playing the formation, they're injured. Why change a formation that has been largely successful for us and suits the players we have as they've been playing there, their whole careers, and then total bin that formation and risk it on a formation that no team plays anymore apart from the Andorra's and Liechensteins of this world and thats only to stop them conceding goals, playing 5-3-1-1 or however you want to name it has too many drawbacks instead of just tweaking a player or two around when the time comes to do so

  17. Those big clubs have hardly fallen over themselves to snap him up have they? I wonder why.... Thats what i'm getting at, It'll have only been tabloid gossip, but once he heard that the likes of Marseille and all that are interested in him, he was going on about using Wigan for bigger and better things and IF he does come to us, which i don't want to happen, as soon as he see's those stories in the press again, he'll want to move on again..
  18. Bit contradictory no? Fwiw i do agree that a season on both domestic and european fronts would be very hard on the squad as it is...for us to get through those hard times of injuries and fatigue and still have a good season, we need at least 5 new faces in and no major departures. I meant it as sometimes teams do get "second season syndrome" and some teams don't. I think we would get it if we did get into Europe because as you say we've got a big summer coming up depending on whether we can keep hold of our core players (the likes of Barton and Enrique etc) and what we'll do with the supposed £35 million transfer budget we're gonna get
  19. Even if N'zogbia did come to us he'd only use us as a stepping stone to a bigger club (like he's already admitted using Wigan for) so once a tabloud story comes in that a bigger club than us is interested in him, he'd just throw another strop and want out
  20. I think we'd find it a bit difficult playing Europe and sustaining Premier league safety in our second season, especially with the old myth of second season syndrome being banded about teams that manage to stay up in their first season
  21. No, no, no, no, no. When have we ever played well with three centrebacks? Keegan tried it, Sir Bobby tried it, it just doesn't work for us. It would with the right players though. I actually think this could work... ---Harper--- Williamson---Taylor---Coloccini Simpson-------------Tiote--------------Enrique Barton---Nolan---Ireland ---Best--- When Barfa and Shola is back... ---Harper--- Williamson---Taylor---Coloccini Simpson------------------------------Enrique Barton---Tiote---Ireland ---Ben Arfa--- ---Shola--- It's too risky playing a formation which the players probably have never played before and the tactics would have too completely change, it'd be alot mroe sensible changing one player to a different position than totally re-arranging the whole team
  22. I reckon we need another winger like, Gutierrez just doesn't do anything consistently, he's the most frustrating player to watch plus it might give him a kick up the arse to start playing better if he has a bit competition. Also if we do get another winger, i see us changing to more of a 4-5-1 formation with Nolan behind the lone striker, who ever that maybe?
  23. John Arne Riise according to all the press. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liver...icle709995.html Probably the 2nd worse non-founded rumour, only beaten by the Puyol - Steven Taylor swap deal
  24. Are you mentally handicapped? Simpson RM? haha Alreet Shankly. After AP talkin about Ferguson its alot more likely if anythin that jonas on right and fergie on left. Fwiw i think Ireland will start. Aint that what happened at the Bolton game? Fair enough we were down to ten men but it looked as though Taylor got moved to RB and Simpson just a bit ahead of him, plus i think its a safer option than starting Ireland straight away, might aswell bring him on later in the game if were looking poor in midfield I heavily doubt Ferguson being played especially on the left, as without Enrique making Gutierrez look 5x better than he is and he's a shower of shyte tbh, Gutierrez would be non-existent
