  11. Friday, 15 July 2011 09:55 UK Aston Villa have made a bid to sign Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia, BBC Sport understands. New manager Alex McLeish is keen on the Frenchman to replace Stewart Downing, who is in talks with Liverpool after the clubs agreed a fee on Tuesday. Villa have also seen Ashley Young depart for Manchester United earlier this summer. N'Zogbia, 25, has made almost 250 appearances in English football, with Wigan and former club Newcastle United. McLeish was on the verge of signing N'Zogbia last August, when the Scot was in charge of Birmingham City, but the transfer broke down over personal terms. A spokesman for Wigan refused to comment on any potential transfer, but did confirm that N'Zogbia was in Sweden training with the squad. Last week, Wigan owner Dave Whelan seemed resigned to losing one of his star players, saying: "We have to sell Charles N'Zogbia because he's on the last year of his contract. We can't keep him if a big club comes for him, and he does deserve a big club because he's that kind of quality player. "We would love to keep him and pay him what he wants to stay with us but it's a very difficult situation. He's such a great player and we are such a small club sometimes we don't go together." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14165590.stm just to back up my opinion. it doesnt look like am the only one that thinks he'll move to villa
  12. i would love to see zog back but cant really see it happening. now that downing is going to liverpool i can see him going there.
  13. my take on what they are worth suarez 40m carroll 18m henderson 10m downing 13m adam 8m thats 89m IMO so they have over spent around 15-20m ( most of the fee being said is not a official price but its paper talk so it maybe not be 100% correct )
  14. sounds about right. 20m is just crazy . to think they could get mata for a few mill more
  15. they look like twins. if memory serves me right the lighthouse family wasnt actually that bad, had a few good hits
  16. Not sure, sounds as though it might be permanent. http://www.clicklancashire.com/sport/black...ed-starlet.html 2 goals in 49games. i new he was crap but o dear (i know that stat makes it sound worse then it is) . how much you reckon? 250k
  17. thats 5secs of my life that i will never get back
  18. I'd happily have bendtner here, think he'd improve by loads with consistent games and being the centre of attention up front like. I would. Not for the 12 million they're after though. not a fan of his. his got a massive ego which really does my head in. he finds it hard to score goals in a team like arsenal so wont expect much if his playing for a mid table team. i can see him moving from club to club without doing anything special with his career. he lacks talent and from the outside seems like he lacks the mental attributes to became a top player
  19. i would have given it to barton. so whos vice cap?
