Cba typing on an iPhone ill answer you both later

it isnt happening, look at our current points tally and upcoming fixtures.
Im far more worried about going down than finishing top-10.
-
You want to challenge Spurs for 4th/5th? They're currently missing big first teamers like Adebayor, Bale, Dawson, Ekotto and Kaboul. Probably bigger misses than us. But look at how strong their bench was on Saturday...
No, but our squad doesnt excuse less than a top-8 finish. Which we are miles off atm. Too far to be ignored.

Average over acheiveing squad last season
Lack of investment in the summer
Players heads being turned by other clubs/their own agents
Injuries out of all propotion compared with last season
Suspensions
Small squad struggling with the Europa League
I'll grant you Pardew is responsible for the last one as he got us to 5th last season
None of which excuse a relegation scrap
-
So the last barricade of defence is "noone else wants to come here".
Wearing thin,the excuses are.

I was just the opposite on Saturday, Williamson, Simpson, Perch and Jonas are championship players. Nearly half the outfield are very average. HBA and Ba are amazing, after that Cabaye is great but Tiote, Cisse, Santon and even Colo have been off form.
No, Williamson, Simpson, Perch and Jonas are not championship quality players. They are not good but you find dozens of similarily dross players in the other teams in this division.
And when everyone is off form, that is ultimately also the responsibility of the manager.
Or do you disagree?
-
Look, you need to take off your black and white glasses for a second and think.
Look at this from the outside. Look at the quality of our first teamers, packed full of stars who would be instant key men in their respective squads if they went somewhere else.
The results this fall, the way we are playing, the individual performances.
We would be laughing our asses off if we were fans of other clubs looking at this mess.
Look, last years wonderseason is over. Its back to reality, and reality is staring us in the eyes and telling us we are relegation candidates.
Any turnaround begins with firing our manager.

I don't think many people lay all the blame at Ashley's door. Pardew did an amazing job last season but also got lucky with injuries and foreign players bedding in straight away (Cabaye and Cisse) then got Ben Arfa playing well in the 2nd half of the season. Think about it though, he's a bloke with an indifferent managerial record who hasn't got a massive amount to spend and, as I alluded to, is on peanuts. Now, that's not to say we couldn't have performed better this year and that he's not partly to blame but I'm not sure what the fuck people expect at the same time. Aye, you could point out we were poor when nearly everyone was fit early doors but we've been ravaged by injuries compared to last season. And are two most creative players are now out and we've got a small squad to start with.
And you keep banging on about the Ba thing but bearing in mind what I've just said I can understand Pardew doing all he can to keep him happy so he doesn't want to fuck off in January. Fair enough it's possibly back-fired a bit (although Cisse has looked poor anyway so I don't think it's just a case of playing 4-3-3 with Ba on the left and everything starting to come together).
He got lucky full stop. Ravaged by injuries ffs
We`ve had 2-3 first teamers out, thats standard procedure for every club in the division.
Look, whatever degree of blame you wish ( or not) to lay upon Pardew, with the managerial role follows an objective culpability regardless of specific factors.
This board seems divided in the fact that some assess blame to pardew for failing to play well and getting results this year ( Me, Aeris, CT)
The other lot point at alot of different things culminating in our rotten form, including a tight board. Fair enough.
Bottom line, it doesnt really matter.
Your team is doing shit? Tough luck, you are responsible.
-
The difference tbh is some on here want to lay every bit of blame at Ashley's door. Not me.
Not a great decision to just bend over and take it from Lille and pay the extra when they hiked Debuchys price up. I guess they thought after playing hardball and getting Cisses and saving millions they could easily do it again.
So let's draw a line under that. They should have strengthened.
Lets also just nail the next one which is it was a great move by the board to keep that team together and resist offers. Most, me included, thought a few may have been cashed in last summer.
So I guess we have a board who had just finished 5th, kep that team together and thought they could get by a few months til January.
None of that should distract from the abysmal job Pardew has done this season, long before injuries mounted up.
He kep banging away with no creativity down the left and everything else either hoofball or over reliant on Ben Arfa, playing two strikers that were not working in a 442.
With each game it got worse and worse and he had nothing. No ideas, nowt.
I said after 5 or 6 games that heads would drop and that this would snowball.
Even now he perseveres with players who are simply not doing it.
I thought he looked good last season, but this season he's failed the challenge.
Bang on the money CT. Couldnt have said it better myself.
-
Agree with Aeris. Seems excessive.
-
sick of the racism card. Its just a bit of banter, tis all.
Like me calling Aeris a muslim whore. Who shags for cash.
See.. she is not bothered..
Are you Aeris?
Aeris?

Lose this and Alan should celebrate christmas at the jobcentre.
-
Lose against QPR and he should be on the dole, no doubt about it.
Churlish to suggest otherwise.
-
Man City "eased to victory", were "stylish", "classy" and "dynamic going forward". Nothing about our performance.
we lost 1-3 at home, what do you expect. A pat on the back for good effort
This isnt kindergarden, there are no medals for losing with grace.
-
Losing in itself is no biggie, city are better than us. All in the performance. All I ask for is for us to show up and have a go.
Plenty of small teams take scalps each season, just about applying ourselves.
That being said nowadays I just want pardew gone.

The genie is out of the bottle man, legislation won't help
Gun related deaths have been falling year on year in the US, the dramatic picture above is an old one. 2011 US 8,757 gun deaths (of which 6,009 were handguns)
http://www.guardian....-crime-us-state
17,000 murders in South Africa in 2010 btw
Very true, and its worth keeping in mind that the nation was built on the premise of protecting your house with a gun. Its even in their constitution.
So culturally there is alot to be said for liberal gun laws from their point of view, and even though it seems a bit prehistoric there are strong undercurrents supporting the right to carry arms there.
One of the most conservative states even aired a law which entitled you to shoot anyone on your land that YOU felt threatened by
It didnt pass but still.
-
Saying give teachers guns? Someone actually said that out loud? Fucked up.
Its for the very same reason security companies in norway are against being armed during transports.
The first ones to find out about this is criminals. Robberies are usually quite leisurely when they occur here, the robbers know the guards arent armed so...
By the same reasoning thieves breaking into houses during night know the homeowners have guns in the house in the US, hence they come armed also...
Just look at the traffic cop shows over there, approaching vehicles they pull over with a hand on their gun? Fuck me I dont want to live in a society like that.

Pardew
" Make no mistake about it, we are not expecting to win this. Manchester City is as big as they come, and certainly alot bigger
than us. Should we lose, and lets be fair most bookies reckon we will, its important to take that little bit of positives with us and try to
get a win for the fans against QPR. With my long-term contract and the stability it brings, we want to pay the best fans in the world back. "

Just stopped off at a chip shop in a village which is a real B&W stronghold and said shop even had an NUFC poster behind the counter. Imagine my shock/surprise to see "cheesy chips" on the menu!
Now I wouldn't normally be so arrogant to advise macums how to do things, but I really would have thought they'd have tried to protect that most Wearside of delicacies along the same lines as producers in say....Champagne, Parma or Wensleydale have done.
If they do seek to protect their famous fayre then perhaps chippies outside of Sunderland could get around this by refering to the offering as "chips with cheese" or even "pomme frites avec fromage" in more pretentious establishments.
-
I've noticed that our poor run of form has increased how much he looks like that big flying dog off of Neverending Story.
-
Here's a clue to whether you're being objective, the whole of the English football recognised the job Pardew did last year.
They recognized the fact that we finished 5th, the results and the league table.
At no point did we look like a top-5 team on the pitch and that is the very reason the media havent really had any interest in our relegation form up until this week.
-
Its not only luck per se, but it was certainly a fluke - similar to Hulls first half season and ipswich 6th finish some 10 years ago.
We will never repeat it under pardew and half a season In that is becoming increasingly obvious dont you think?
-
Rose-tinted glasses firmly donned, history is being rewritten to fit the agenda.
I cant be bothered debating it, me and CT aside most on here blame Ashley for the way the team is playing this year, forgetting that last year was much of the same only with a few wondergoals and lucky draws added in.
Which is wrong, but I guess its better to have a firm anchor in nonsense than to paddle out on the sea of thought.
Roll on City and QPR.
