On the other hand, you could be seated opposite a judgemental grumpy Yorkshire couple....
Or "a Yorkshire couple" for short

I'm sure at least this legend was in attendance.

There's a permanent "model solar system" in one of the villages where I used to go walking regularly when we lived in that London. It's brilliantly underwhelming.
My favourite (well, it would be) is Uranus next to the bin next to the bus stop.

Flippin 'eck, are you not over the cup final yet?

I think it's quite common for non-gamblers to equate "odds" with "likelihood" when they talk about things like this, hence getting high/low the wrong way round.

Sweet flavours paired with spicy flavours can be great tbh, including on a pizza. Any issues with a Hawaiian pizza are as much down to the bland insipid ham as the pineapple.

I fancy us to win, or maybe a draw or we get best.
Fast-forward to the match being postponed because Lewis Hall attaches himself to a goalpost with a cable tie

We said "kets" in Gosforth in the 80s/90s so I'm not having that as any kind of marker of working-class authenticity tbf

We don't know what flavour it is, and the usual "As long as it's healthy" caveats aside, I'd like a daughter. Complete the set, y'know? Plus the increased likelihood of my answering the door in pants, socks and a blood smeared butchers apron to greet her first boyfriend.
As opposed to the postman and the Ocado driver like you do now.

I’ve failed my ventriloquism exam.
Personally I’m gutted, and as for my dummy - well, I can’t speak for him.
That's quite good, by which I mean it's quite bad

It's Lee Ryder, it's quite conceivable that the player doesn't exist.

I've been offered a decent enough paid job at a good, growing company, still shifts but only 8's and maybe the odd half a shift on a Saturday morning every three weeks. It's been three months since I was made redundant and things were looking bleak job wise after I'd exhausted some good early leads because some of the few jobs available belonged in a Dicken's novel just going on the T&Cs. I honestly feel like crying with the relief of it. Easy to get to and no bad traffic time starts. Thank christ for that.
Aaaaand breathe....
Delighted for you mate, the weight off your shoulders must be immense. Congrats

The BBC doc on the Columbia disaster is well worth watching if people are into that kind of thing btw. It seems NASA just repeated the same mistakes as with the Challenger disaster. Far too process driven without seeing the bigger picture and a culture of burying awkward truths. A lot of guilt from engineers who know they didn't speak loud enough. I'm not sure if anything could have been done to save the shuttle though, in fact part of me wonders if the ignorance of the crew were a blessing. Maybe this will be explored further in the third and last part of the series next Monday.
Edit: All episodes are on player. Shuttle that fell to Earth.
Watched all of this yesterday (this is the kind of fun thing I get up to while the fella's away for the weekend). Fascinating and terrifying in equal measure.

All sympathy to you and yours AH. Life's so randomly unfair sometimes it's a wonder we don't all go crackers.
