  1. I agree they're fucked tbh.

Which I'm glad about given my intentions for this election. A 'have my cake and eat it' moment as far as voting outcomes go - I get to be a naive, principled twat without it costing anyone anything ;)

Was this copied and pasted from Suella Braverman's speech yesterday?

In the mod channel I literally made this joke myself

Was flat out never going to work. TT struggles to accommodate new posters when they come in as a gust of wind, let alone when it's a hurricane of them /Suella.

Fuck off Gazza😉, I'm too old to be having bairns at this age.

BTW I think there is a decent poster somewhere in LTA and she just needs to give herself a shake and stop biting everytime someone tries to wind her up over our former bandage bear (it's an Australian thing look it up).

We haven't had a chick posting on this board since Fish scared the unicyclist off and Cath got sick of having to ignore the board's over use of cunt - so I'm hoping she, LTA, takes ownership of this thread.

We all have dreams I suppose!

Agree with this, not that anyone will be surprised at my bleeding heart view on it. The ASM stuff has never bothered me as much as others as he was a fun player, and while the take on Gordon is a bit mental I feel like it's only happening because she's been locked into by default rather than genuinely believes it. There'll be an eventual climbdown there IMO ;)

  4. My general rule of thumb here personally is if I watch the clip and end up sucking air through my teeth at a rapid rate with a look of disgust/horror, then it was a red card.

This was a fucking red card

  5. This is unfortunate and inevitable. And funny tbf.

The thing with TT is, we don't care if anyone else shows up really, we're not looking to grow the userbase as such (if people join and get the place, great, if not, we're fine), we're just here to talk with a bunch of people most of us have known for over a decade. Over the course of the years that TT has been running it's developed a particular culture. You can't just drop 10 or so people into that culture out of nowhere and in total ignorance of said culture, and then take offence at it. No one was being harsh or mean to you, you just don't get how this place works.

Keep reading the forum outside of this thread, see if you can insert yourself into a conversation or thread somewhere, and you'll find you get on pretty well IMO. None of us are bad people, none of us are children, we're all grown adults with jobs and families and whatever. We all care about each other.

In earnest though even if we'd given you the perfect welcome with bells on, taking a community group that seems to be well connected to each other such as your own and merging it into another community with similar bonds and ties with no planning, conversation or attempt to understand each other was always going to fail.

Sorry to hear about the blog and its owner btw. Good luck in whatever you do from here.

  6. Are they seriously going to elect Suella?

I can't see it, would be suicide.

Would amuse me to see the Guardian have to line up behind a white male candidate against a female person of colour though. They might implode.

There's always gonna be people biased towards their own club on their own forum.

I've definitely seen an upturn in plastics on our forum the last few years. Plus rags and dippers masquerading as blues to cause mischief.

New people with now now now views shouting over the top of the older generation.

I don't know. Some of the above is right.

There was definitely a mix of "we want to win it all" and "its only the league cup" before the game that obviously swung towards the latter after.

I did think the sky line about famous victory was a bit much, after all we were knocked out by another champions league club.

I'm not sure i sense much hatred for newcastle amongst city fans in the flesh.

The people i know recognize you've had some rough years much like we had.

That said, keyboard warriors are a different breed though.

We did put out a decent side, that played ok in the first half, but carried no real threat. I think you realised that and went for it with some gusto after the break.

It's true I certainly would have fancied our chances more against you if most of Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Rodri, Bernado, De Bruyne, Haaland had been on the pitch. But they weren't so.

In my defense, i came on here before the game and pretty much predicted what happened.

I didn't come on afterwards as i was gutted,

Tbf mate you've been very sound and I didn't grab any of that because I think city fans are particularly egregious for this stuff. You're not. And I'm sure if I went to Newcastle Online you'd see some of our fans coming up with similar shit about all sorts.

I just happen to quite like going looking for it tbh. RAWK's CL thread last year was a real highlight for instance, along with a lot of the midtable teams who weren't ready for us to be good.

Have seen far worse than all of that.

  8. The way they're going on you'd think this goal was a matter of life and death.

What can they possibly do here in escalation other than get a few people sacked and put the fear of God into the officials? They can't undo the result.

    Loathsome club tbh, absolutely pathetic.

  9. I can see how from the outside it could be viewed as 'just a tree' but it feels like a middle finger to the rest of the community IMO. It is well known and loved, it's part of the cultural landscape of Northumberland insofar as almost everyone in the surrounding areas have been to see it at some point.

It's just crass and self indulgent to do this - done at night by the sounds of it too so clearly whoever did it knew there'd be an outcry.

  10. Can't help but feel we're having a very harsh discussion on the guy less than 24 hours after he was part of a defence that kept a clean sheet against a very good team

Yes he's not going to be first choice at any point, but last night demonstrated that he is capable of having a decent game for us in a good system. At least in my case, I'll be a little more confident about his cameos in future than I would have been before last night.

  11. Just looking at the response over on Bluemoon. In a nutshell:

    - They weren't arsed at all about the game beforehand.

    - When teams were announced they were supremely confident that they would win because our lads were mostly shite and their line up very competitive.

    - First half they were sublime and their players were gods.

    - Second half their players were all coming back from injury or kids, plus Newcastle were a really dirty team and that mean Joelinton was bullying them. They were now arsed about the game though due to the indignation of losing.

    - At final whistle, in response to Sky stating things like "famous victory" and "no one gave Newcastle a chance at the outset", there were comments about how they had made 8 changes, how no one should have expected them to win, etc.

    - Lots of hate on NUFC in general, but I picked out this one just because I think it speaks to a wider point that these fans aren't getting:

    image.png.691bd83c1db85dead0e2837103c619cf.png

The reason we are no longer likeable is that we are actually trying to win and compete. I'm sure if we went back to being the sort of side that their second string could put 4 past and call it a day, we'd be back to being a benign, pitiable club that simply wasn't important enough for anyone to have negative feelings around. Now we're kicking these clubs out of competitions, we're suddenly detestable.

Joelinton makes such a difference to our press. He has a brilliant sense of timing and it seems that he is often the catalyst either in the tackle or as the close by pilot fish picking up the scraps after a teammate applies the pressure.

Joelinton is absolutely massive for us. Possibly moreso than Bruno now we have Tonali.

  13. I'm still amazed by this response from GB News mind. They're suspending Fox for being misogynistic and saying it doesn't match their values.

I mean.. what do they think their values are? This is their values writ large. It'd be like them suddenly panicking about Boris Johnson saying something racist. Surely this sort of thing is the whole point of their network.
