  1. I would like to try this lineup tho I admit I would be a little worried defensively Krul Janmaat mbemba colo haidara Sissoko windj Thauvin de Jong Perez Mitrovic
  2. I wouldn't take him I rather have a player like wanyama who I've read isn't happy at southhampton now I doubt there is too much truth with that but a guy can dream
  3. You stay with Anita or colback next to sissoko the only reason I suggest mbemba is because I think he is an improvement over Anita or colback as a DM and he is athletic enough to at least try in the position
  4. Question for everyone if we were able to sell a few players and sign abdennour or van dijk and assuming tiote doesn't regain his form what would you guys think of starting mbemba at DM he has shown he can make great tackles he has some pace strength can fight for the ball and isn't too bad going foward but he could be out enforcer this year and next year replace colo all together. Pair him next to sissoko and that's a good physical duo Lineup could be Krul Janmaat dijk colo haidara Sissoko mbemba Thauvin windj ayoze Mitrovic
  5. We have to sell players hate to see abied go but understand the move we have to get rid of some wages players like Williamson goufrann ect. I completely agree that we need more defensive work but if this is all we buy I will say we did a great job and in January or possibly next summer there won't be a need for buying so many players all we would need is a quality cb lb if haidara doesn't prove himself this season which some think he can (I don't but I'm ok giving him a shot) and possibly 1 other position depending how everything else goes that I can see being possible doesn't strike me as impossible
  6. If we don't get any players in the summer "we didn't buy how can they possibly think we can compete" We buy 5 good players "it's not enough the defense needs work We buy foreign players "they don't have the passion for the country and the epl" We buy domestic players "not good enough why aren't we going out and getting Spanish German ect. talent" We sell players "we ruined our season" We don't sell players "why are we still paying these players" the life of a Newcastle United fan lol On a more serious note we have made good signings we do lack defensively but we can't repair the whole team in one summer it's going to take time lets just hope we continue in the right path even if it's a slow process as long as we get there (Europa and hopefully champions league)
  7. Overall the signings we made have been very good especially since I feel like it's a good compromise in the way Ashley likes to do things and what Newcastle needed to do. We bought young talented players with a lot of potential they can help the team in the present and be sold for a lot of money (if they fulfill their potential) in the future it's a win win for both sides. As for thauvin I like the signing we obviously need to improve defense but are wing play was weak as well. Hopefully we bring in aymen abdennour I would also love a LB but don't see that happening unless we sell all our dead weight.
  8. Janmaat was hurt stupid no excuses. Rest of the team lost heart especially after the red. LB needs to be upgraded and possibly a DM. If we could buy thauvin the Portuguese LB and a quality CB I would be 100% satisfied. Krul Janmaat new cb mbemba new Lb Colback Sissoko Thauvin windj Aarons Mitrovic This team could have beat Swansea alas it mite only be a dream lol
  9. I understand what everyone is saying about tiote not being match fit I agree 100% but the question I'll ask is when is the last time you saw tiote play well fit? It's been way too long though I will say that maybe mcclaren can get the best out of him but I'm just not sure. Haidara can maybe develop into a solid Lb but that will take time and I think he has a ceiling but if we get another lb maybe jetro who actually is younger I think Haidara can be a good back up and with games in the cups some leauge games and hopefully Europa next year he can still get play time CB would be good but doesn't have to start right away he can learn from cool and slowly overtake him as the year progresses. I agree cabella can play well in this system but I still would want 1 more talented winger
  10. After watching the southhampton game I think our needs are pretty clear. We need a LB, winger, DM, and CB. I don't think we need a striker with cisse Mitrovic ayoze and rivière eventually I think we should be fine. While overran played well he was played on the left when clearly he needs to be on the right besides Aarons and maybe cabella we don't have any true good wingers. Anita and colback played pretty good together but when tiote came in we went to shamble and I just don't trust him anymore. Haidara is just not up to par wouldn't be a bad back up but just not good enough for the starting 11 and finally CB I think with more play time mbemba and colo could play well together but we need depth behind them or even an upgrade to take over for colo.
  11. Tomorrow is the big day super excited to watch real futbol again. Been thinking a lot about what the starting line up should be tomorrow and this is what I have come up with let me know what you think and what you would want/believe will be the line up 4-2-3-1 Krill Janmaat colo mbemba haidara Anita colback Sissoko windgi Aarons/ayoze Mitrovic 1. Colo haven't played and mbemba just arrived but I believe that these 2 easily are better than Taylor and Williamson regardless I will admit colo does worry me a bit 2. Anita is a good fit in this system and with the players he has shown flashes and I think we haven't given him a fair chance give him games and let him play with like minded players I think he can do well or at least better than anything else we have 3. Aarons would be my starter unless there are concerns of his fitness or health I don't want to rush him if not then ayoze fits well and I want him to get plenty of playing time to further develop his game. 4. Mitrovic needs game time period let him play he will learn as he goes cisse proved better off the bench last season and Mitrovic potential is much higher than cisse Thoughts?
  12. With this season pretty much a wash i was thinking about what we moves we could make in the summer transfer market to improve the team going forward. You can post your own mock offseasons or critique others. (Please no get rid of Mike Ashley we all know that is what we need/ wont happen) I think we are going to sign Remi Garde before the winter transfer market ends. He fits the mold of what Mike Ashley wants in the "head coach" and makes sense for the club. As for the rest of this season all i hope for is to start getting players back healthy such as De Jong, Aarons, Santon and getting them game time. Give the young players some more chances such as Armstrong and Bigirimana. I believe we will end mid table somewhere between 8th-12th. Now in the offseason: A. Resign Players Ryan Taylor/Sammy Ameobi- Both good squad players that add depth and love the club B. Sell Players Cisse- I think its now or never if we are going to sell him. He is 29 and honestly not the player we need at striker. We should capitalize on his recent run of form and sell him for about 9mil-12mil pounds. Tiote- Basically same reasons as Cisse although with his poor form i think it will be harder to sell jim for a fee we would want. Hopefully he has a good African Cup and comes back and has a decent run of games and we can sell him for 8mi-10mil pounds. Williamson/Vuckic- Williamson obvious reasons and Vuckic just hasent panned out. if we could get 2mil pounds total for both players I say make the move. (I dont think we will sell Sissoko in the summer not becasue we dont want to or because he doesnt want to leave but i dont think a "big" club will make a move for him. while he has been great for us i dont see him making the starting 11 of any bigger club so its in his best interest to return to us have another great year and prove he is worth the move to a bigger club. only possibility i see is Liverpool they need a replacement for Gerrard while issoko is a different type of player i see they are linked to delph and sissoko is by far a better player so thats something to monitor going forward.) C. Buy Players *Mbiwa stays i dont think we accept the low offer Roma wants to offer and with Remi Garde i think he will play mbiwa and this will convince him to stay. Danny Ings- Sign him for free this move makes too much sense. We get a young English striker who has proven he can score and has good pace and work ethic. Steven Caulker- I think QPR will be relegated and we take advantage and buy Caulker for around 5-6 million pounds. *now for the last sginings i have 2 options 1 is very optimistic and possibly unrealistic the second is very realistic. I would prefer the 1st but would be ok with the 2nd 1st option Memphis Depay- We need creative pacy option across from Aarons and Depay offers that and more. I think he is still a year or 2 away from signing for a really big club and i think this move makes sens for both parties because we get Depay for i believe around 15mil pounds and if he keeps getting better we could sell him for double that in a year or 2. It makes sense for him because he comes to a better league and gets to show case his skills and we have a decent amount of Dutch players making the move smoother for him. 2nd option Serge Gnarby- Sign him on loan from Arsenal he has EPL experience good pace and skillful player. With all the talent in front of him at Arsenal coming here for playing time makes sense for him/Arsenal. Hopefully we can get him with option to buy but im not sure if Arsenal would do that. Renato Ibarra- Plays in the Dutch league and has had good success. He is an Ecuadorian winger that i would say is a little bit of a combination of Montero and A Valencia. He is still a raw and needs some coaching to reach potential but he is 23 has great pace and can be had for 3mil pounds making him a low risk high reward player. D. Roster Strikers: Ayoze Perez Danny Ings Riviere Adam Armstrong Wingers: Aarons Obertan Sammy Ameobi Depay or Gnarby/Ibarra Midfielders: De Jong Cabella Sissoko Abeid Colback Anita Marveaux *Bigirimana Fullbacks: Janmaat Santon Haidara Ryan Taylor Dummet (can be depth as both fullback/center back) Center Back: Coloccini Mbiwa Caulker Lascelles Steven Taylor Keepers: Krul Darlow Elliot *Woodman *can be loaned out What do you guys think? What would you guys do in the offseason?
  13. I just don't get it! I understand being linked to a massive amount of players during transfer windows is normal and obviously we aren't going to sign most of them. Right now Newcastle has to buy from need not luxury we NEED strikers at the very least and yet nothing is coming to pass. Every player we have been linked to Gomis, Lassoga, grenier, cabella, Valencia, caulker, lescott, I know I missing a few have all either gone somewhere else or we have moved on because of some reason or another. What is going wrong? Is it Ashley not wanting to pay? Pardew being useless, teams/players not wanting to do business/play for us. I just don't get it. Ashley is in this for the money it seems but how can you even make money if you won't even get players with some talent to eventually sell and our youth system is a joke. Sorry for the long rant I just had to get that out.
  14. First I'll say that Alan Pardew honestly should have had more control and shouldn't have "head-butted" the player. I understand the fine hopefully he doesn't get anything else to severe. Now with that being said I have no problem with what happened. Pardew reacted to being pushed and the frustration of how the player was all over our player before the ball went out. While that really isn't a excuse if Hull was winning 3-1 the player wouldn't have pushed pardew but as he was frustrated he pushed him to get to the ball. It was just the heat of the game and shouldn't be blown out of perspective. I also like the passion Pardew shows he sometimes almost goes over the line but I like that he is not one of those managers that just sits there and he also isn't a lunatic like Di Cano. While sometimes I don't agree with his choice of squad or his tactics no one can deny his passion for the team. He is a little rough around the edges but that's why he is perfect for us a team/fan base that is a little rough around the edges.
  15. So I have a question for debate. What do you guys think the roster is going to look like next season? Shola, Gutierrez, Obertan, Marveaux I think are as good as gone. Remy I don't think will want to come back. Ben arfa and Cisse I think will be strong possibilities of being sold. Coloccini is a question mark. Debuchy and Krul I feel were good enough this season to merit interest from "bigger" clubs and if offered the right price I think we will sell. If some or most of these goes through we become a very depleted team in quality/depth. Do you think we actually go out and try to bring back quality even if it's on the cheaper side? Or do you think that we go young and let players like Bigi, Sammy, Vucinic, ect. get a real shot at the team?
  16. Ha thanks but honestly why should this even be considered that optimistic. I understand he is not the typical player we go out and get but I'm not saying lets go out and get aguero or Suarez I'm saying lets go get a player that haven't started for his club in a few years and scoring recorded isn't anything earth shattering while I understand he is a good player we should be able to go out and get at least 1 player of his caliber to help our cause
  17. What really upsets me is that we don't have the ambition or drive to go out and get one real good player that could really help us have a legitimate chance to her champions leauge football my pick would be Edin Dzeko. Would cost sonewhere between 20 to 30 most likely somewhere in the middle. He is a huge improvement over shola has the same strengths such as being big can hold up play and can win jump balls but can also create for himself and others while having an eye for goal. He doesn't start and haven't for awhile now this a World Cup year so the more first team football he gets the better which he would be guaranteed here. He would help our club immensely and would be loved and adored for it and with his help we could get champions leauge football which mite be the only thing maybe preventing the move it makes to much sense on both sides but alas it will never happen
  18. I disagree with this I think it is pretty easy who our 3 weakest links are Shola-obvious Santon-not playing too great or bad but makes some mental errors Goufrann-good player with good work ethic but with santon out of the lineup and a more sound defensive LB we could use a more attacking LW that can create for himself and the striker which honestly goufrann really can't This is all nit picking though I am very happy with what the ram has done and I hope for continued success Now for what I hope happens in the January transfer market I would love a striker(I kno which players I would love to bring in but I don't think any are to realistic), central midfielder (dembele was my first choice and before avb got fired I though very possible cause he wasent being used as much but under the new coach I'm not to sure), and cover for RB(this alson not to sure but wouldn't mind a younger talent ala Haidara last year) then sell cisse and obertan and I would consider this a great transfer market
  19. M'baye Niang the perfect transfer target for Newcastle in the winter He's young (only 19 years old) He's French Has not gotten enough play time could be looking for first team football Not to expensive somewhere in the range of 7-10mil Good young talent that can be sold for huge profit if he develops He is a striker which fits our biggest need That pretty much hits every criteria that Newcastle seems to have when purchasing a player
  20. i read today that 1 of the reasons we didnt buy in this transfer market is because we purchased players meant for the summer in the winter ie. goufrann, sissoko. So basicaly we do our shopping 4 months to late and i would assume that means we will bring in players in the winter. The only way i will be ok with this is if somehow we are top 8ish in the table around December and we still buy a few players to help the push for the top of the table. BUT thats seems like only a dream Anytime from now on Pardew/Kinnear say they are going to do something i will only have one reaction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7V1IYPdFJQ
  21. Ba coming back in loan does sound ridiculous to me but at this point ill take what we can get hopefully he can pick up scoring goals again. Idk if I like this cabaye staying thing I rather get the money and buy a replacement he has been in bad form, refused to play for us, is depressed or whatever is going on in his head doesn't sound like the best player to have at the moment
  22. The thought process of Mike Ashley confuses me. He wants to make money that is glaringly obvious and it does not matter to him if it is at the expense of the club and its fans. So he gets his scouts to find young talent and tries to sell them for big profits a few years down the road. What I don't understand is if he really wants to make money why he wouldn't reinvest his money in the club and buy talents such as Christian Eriksen who is more expensive but could be sold for millions if he plays to the potential he is capable of not only that but the more successful the club the more ppl but tickets jerseys merchandise which means more money for Ashley. Look at Barcelona they got the money spent on Neymar on jersey sales alone. You have to spend money to make money why wouldn't you be ambitious enough to make hundreds of millions not just tens of millions if money is your only goal. Secondly I've heard that he wants the club to do bad to sell the club which doesn't make sense cause who is going to pay the money he wants for the club when the club is in shambles? Basically what I am getting at is that no matter what his intentions are for the club are he seems to be failing miserably in all accounts talk about a useless person. If life was a game he would have been lost already smh!
  23. After watching the west ham game I like out back four could use a RB cover/competition for debuchy but love collo and Mbiwa together. Midfield also not bad just a player with creativity a cam or left winger or both BUT most importantly need a striker!!!! We can't score for our lives I would like to see remy/goufrann or new striker up top together
  24. Sell cabaye but a left winger (thauvin or Montero) buy CAM (Eriksen or someone) now u have 3 creative players with pace up top that can create plays for themselves or cisse/remy
  25. Wow 30 years that passion. I am a pretty recent edition to the toon army but I love Newcastle United through the good and the bad. I understand we are in some BAD times right now and there is next to nothing to really be optimistic about, but no matter what this is our team and instead of all the constant complaining and I have been guilty of this too I think we should get behind the players staff even the owner cause for better or worse they are who we have and we gotta believe, pray , hope for good things. I dont care what anyone says i believe we can be a top 4 team barring any injury and the players actually play to their ability. We are a good team with the best fans and hopefully if we can start winning some more we can begin to recruit a higher tier caliber player and thats when the fun will really begin =]. It all begins with the win at Man City on Monday =] ***I apologize for the rant just passionate im not trying to go against anyone or calling ppl out just wanted to express my opinion***
