I'm just coming from a position that it's wrong to sell arms that are being used in a genocide. Don't think it's a particularly vote losing policy and I genuinely think it might be a net gain.

Maybe I'm not cynical enough yet

Don’t think it necessarily would be but could make the difference it the previously safe Tory seats they look set to take. Loads of those are still in the balance. No point in jeopardising that. Plus we know they are not held to the sane standards - see Corbyn. Then there’s the accusations of antisemitism scandal which large elements of the press would love to reignite. Purely from a tactical point of view it’s the right thing to do the way he’s playing it.

  2. What Starmer needs to do is start fucking up the massive lead he’s got in polls with pointless gestures. All to appease a few people who won’t vote for him anyway 👍🏻

    Isn't he South African?

Think his mam was born in England. He blamed the racial quota system for not being able to get a break in South Africa. Because so few white cricketers play for the national team there (not). Fantastic player but you could probably sum his personality by his sending text to South African opponents criticising his captain Andrew Strauss in 2012. To make it worse Strauss was almost universally liked by teammates and was playing in his 100th (and what turned out to be his last) test match. That and being best mates with Piers Morgan

I just listened to that talksport clip. It’s basically so unprofessional from start to to finish. He actually must have rang Talksport to tell them he was getting the job before it was even announced.

That interview alone should’ve been enough for him to be deemed unsuitable for the role. Suspect his appointment was just another buffer the owner put up between him and the fans though and Kinnear did sweet FA as DoF in practice

  5. Don’t really have strong feelings about the bloke one way or the other. I can’t really blame him for taking the manager’s job (or the even more bizarre decision to give him the DoF role later). Nor was it his fault for being palpably out of his depth (the stories about him hiding in his office at Darsley Park watching daytime tv while training took place for example). It was just another example of Ashley taking the piss out the fans, not really having a clue about football, not really caring that much so long as the club scraped by, being a gargantuan cunt again, etc.

you're a more tolerant man than me.

fought his way through multiple layers and folds of arse fat before finally reaching bruce's hoop. then stuck his tongue as far up it as he possibly could.

never forgive, never forget. fuck him.

Forgot about the Bruce love in. Feels like a lifetime ago. Fortunately

Did he have a rotisserie chicken dangling from a headband? Y'know to encourage him to run?

Not on this occasion. I don’t know if you recall but I last saw him before Xmas after he’d just smashed a bottle of Pinot Grigio in Palmersville Aldi. After the handle of his carrier bag snapped with hilarious consequences. I’m 95% certain it was him on both occasions as I heard him speak both times too. This time gasping ‘thanks’ after I let him pass the other way. I’ve actually warmed to him a bit recently. He always seemed ok, then lost the plot big style during covid / seemed determined to wind fans up over the takeover not happening. Even then he was alright when he wasn’t talking about NUFC. He’s spot on re: Howe doing an amazing job under the circumstances too (see previous page)

  8. Willie Miller, of course. He looks different. He must’ve been a kid there though. When I watched that documentary a little while back about Aberdeen winning the Cup Winners’ Cup, I’m sure it said he was one of (if not the) oldest in the team, despite only being in his late twenties. And that was nearly a decade after that photo*. Also, Danny McGrain was a guess. I don’t recall seeing him without a beard. I just thought it looked a bit like him (probably that is something to do with it actually being him  ). He somehow looks older there without the beard than I remember him from Scotland / Celtic games in the early 80s.

    *edit: 7 years

  9. Keeper is Alan Rough and a very young Kenny Dalglish is in the back there. Is that a pre-beard Danny Mcgrain in the white? I thought he was born with a beard. The two behind the one in the white look really familiar but I’m fucked if I can remember their names. It’s a shame you don’t see more Umbro kits any more

  10. I was in France on my hols. Staying in a lovely spot in Limousin with limited internet access. I actually said the phrase “Joe Fucking Kinnear!?” to my lass

Another Reform UK candidate bites the dust, and he's not gone quietly.

They really are the home of the scumbag.

Reform too woke for him?
They should be honest and just form an openly racist party tbh.

  12. Silva by the way. What a whingeing cunt. We scored two ‘legitimate’ goals to their none. They didn’t take their chances and we did.
Absolutely agree with VAR and the need to bin it. It’s gone from its supposed purpose of eliminating howlers to getting involved in overturning highly subjective marginal calls. Perfectly illustrated by the Burn ‘foul’ being given after VAR talked the ref out of his initial correct decision.
