If you're not well enough to work, it doesn't matter what the test results. Tell them to FUCK OFF!Â
After already having a week off I had to ring today to say Iâll be off for at least another. Still testing positive on day 8 and not sure whether itâs because Iâm a first-timer but fucking hell man, itâs knocked me sideways. Constant dizziness at the moment. Iâm just wandering round the house like a zombie half-heartedly doing jobs that canât wait.Â

Yeah we only test new admissions if symptomatic but thereâs been a few slipped through the net that have caused havoc once confirmed. I get that we have to live with it but also need to limit the spread amongst the most clinically vulnerable. And poor anaesthetic nurses who get roped into helping on wards when theyâre short-staffed.Â

At the Freeman theyâve told staff whoâve tested positive they can go in if they arenât symptomatic. As long as they wear a mask. Really.Â
What the fuck? Mask-wearing is still mandatory at our place in all clinical areas as standard. Thatâs madness.Â

I just assumed you were the bloke with the constant diarrhea when I saw this response.Â
Â
Hope you're doing better soon Cath. First 4 days were the worst for me, but def take it easy even when you think you're feeling better.Â
Thanks. I think the fevers have stopped and now just feel fluey and wiped out. Work rules say I have to go back if negative on days 5&6 which is unlikely. Iâm definitely off til at least a week today unless still testing positive next Wed.Â
ÂHaving not had it until now itâs made me extremely grateful for the vaccine and boosters that Iâve had. And also reflect on seeing so many patients die at the beginning. Itâs quite surreal âšď¸

I can guarantee it would me shouting âNooooooooooo!!!!â as said man stood up and unleashed a torrent of sewage across my shoes, scrubs and floor. I had my fave Jimmy Anderson socks on too. Poor Jimmy đ˘

Hope youâre feeling ok. Youâve managed to dodge it so far havenât you?Â
I have.Â
ÂI know exactly where I got it and Iâm annoyed but it was pretty unavoidable. It was a vulnerable patient with Covid, Alzheimerâs and constant diarrhoea that I had to clean up several times. I had PPE but it was relentless. Started with fevers on Sun night and have been rotten ever since.Â

Itâs going to be rough but just be there. Youâve been there yourself so you know that thereâs nothing that will make it hurt less. Keep doing what youâre doing - youâve got this. And take care of yourself too x

Didn't he campaign for a greater in corporation tax than she did?
I honestly donât know. Heâs just quietly been skulking in the wings waiting for his moment. I wonât ever forgive him for what he did to the junior doctors and the NHS in general.

What's your take on this case?
Â
22 charges of mudrder/attempted murder. Technically thats a serial killer?
Â
Â
Itâs absolutely horrific. I havenât looked into it in detail but know they all took place over a period of one year. It feels mad that it wasnât noticed sooner but thatâs easy to say with hindsight and given that the poor babies involved were already in a critical state of health. Even from the limited evidence thatâs been presented and reported on it feels almost a foregone conclusion that sheâs guilty. Could she have coincidentally have been present at each and every adverse incident being reported? Iâll be interested to see her defence for each incident already outlined. Itâs unforgivable if proven.Â

Cath just casually giving any potential serial killers who may get on here the secret code of what to use should they end up on a ward with access to the cupboard.
To be fair, two of those are specifically anaesthetic drugs and theyâd have to get the keys from me first. đ

The question I have, and perhaps those in the medical profession can answer, wasn't access to insulin by a nurse restricted and had to be signed off by doctor in light of what happened with Allitt? Â
What, so the doctors can kill them instead? đ Nope, insulin is kept in the cupboard with everything else. There are far more effective drugs to hand if you wanted to do a Shipman (Potassium/Propofol/Rocuronium - we use them every day) Thankfully very few of us are serial killing psychopaths.Â

I canât say I saw more than about 10 minutes of the coverage yesterday or follow the whole carry on, beyond knowing her and Harry have moved abroad and effectively left the royal family. Also, beyond this place, Iâm pretty much off social media. Would I be right in guessing that her attendance created more outrage than that of Prince Andrew?Â
To be honest, she wasnât mentioned any more than any other members of the family Itâs just certain âjournalistsâ that are unhealthily obsessed by her. Harry was mentioned more than she was as he wasnât in uniform etc. She really didnât get much coverage not to mention criticism.Â

Why are you no fan of Meghan out of interest?
Sly eyes.Â
I donât like the way she makes up stories to either garner sympathy or to put herself on a pedestal which are then disproven by people who were present and know the facts. I donât like liars. There are other things but itâs more of a distrust of her motives whilst she makes herself out to be a victim. Â However I also think her relentless hounding by certain sections of the media is a disgrace. In regards to the funeral and Wootonâs vitriol; she didnât put a foot wrong yesterday. She was respectful and appropriate and will no doubt be happy to get the hell out of the country.Â
