If you're not well enough to work, it doesn't matter what the test results. Tell them to FUCK OFF!

After already having a week off I had to ring today to say I’ll be off for at least another. Still testing positive on day 8 and not sure whether it’s because I’m a first-timer but fucking hell man, it’s knocked me sideways. Constant dizziness at the moment. I’m just wandering round the house like a zombie half-heartedly doing jobs that can’t wait.

  2. Yeah we only test new admissions if symptomatic but there’s been a few slipped through the net that have caused havoc once confirmed. I get that we have to live with it but also need to limit the spread amongst the most clinically vulnerable. And poor anaesthetic nurses who get roped into helping on wards when they’re short-staffed.

At the Freeman they’ve told staff who’ve tested positive they can go in if they aren’t symptomatic. As long as they wear a mask. Really.

What the fuck? Mask-wearing is still mandatory at our place in all clinical areas as standard. That’s madness.

There’s a first time for everything and this might just be it.

I just assumed you were the bloke with the constant diarrhea when I saw this response.

Hope you're doing better soon Cath. First 4 days were the worst for me, but def take it easy even when you think you're feeling better.

Thanks. I think the fevers have stopped and now just feel fluey and wiped out. Work rules say I have to go back if negative on days 5&6 which is unlikely. I’m definitely off til at least a week today unless still testing positive next Wed.

Having not had it until now it’s made me extremely grateful for the vaccine and boosters that I’ve had. And also reflect on seeing so many patients die at the beginning. It’s quite surreal ☹️

When you explained the circumstances I did the right thing and decided to delete the voice mail rather than listening to it first

    ;)

I can guarantee it would me shouting “Nooooooooooo!!!!” as said man stood up and unleashed a torrent of sewage across my shoes, scrubs and floor. I had my fave Jimmy Anderson socks on too. Poor Jimmy 😢

Aye. And you woke me up in the middle of the night

I was wrestling with a shit-covered man and bum dialled you! That’s what you get for being first in my phone list 😂

I had to send 3 apologetic texts that next morning. Mortified 🥺

Hope you’re feeling ok. You’ve managed to dodge it so far haven’t you?

    I have.

I know exactly where I got it and I’m annoyed but it was pretty unavoidable. It was a vulnerable patient with Covid, Alzheimer’s and constant diarrhoea that I had to clean up several times. I had PPE but it was relentless. Started with fevers on Sun night and have been rotten ever since.

In Korea, if you’re born at 11:59 on December 31st, then a couple of minutes later you’ll be 2 years old.

    Stop encouraging them! 😆

Didn't he campaign for a greater in corporation tax than she did?

I honestly don’t know. He’s just quietly been skulking in the wings waiting for his moment. I won’t ever forgive him for what he did to the junior doctors and the NHS in general.

What's your take on this case?

22 charges of mudrder/attempted murder. Technically thats a serial killer?

It’s absolutely horrific. I haven’t looked into it in detail but know they all took place over a period of one year. It feels mad that it wasn’t noticed sooner but that’s easy to say with hindsight and given that the poor babies involved were already in a critical state of health. Even from the limited evidence that’s been presented and reported on it feels almost a foregone conclusion that she’s guilty. Could she have coincidentally have been present at each and every adverse incident being reported? I’ll be interested to see her defence for each incident already outlined. It’s unforgivable if proven.

Cath just casually giving any potential serial killers who may get on here the secret code of what to use should they end up on a ward with access to the cupboard. :D

To be fair, two of those are specifically anaesthetic drugs and they’d have to get the keys from me first. 😁

The question I have, and perhaps those in the medical profession can answer, wasn't access to insulin by a nurse restricted and had to be signed off by doctor in light of what happened with Allitt?

What, so the doctors can kill them instead? 😉 Nope, insulin is kept in the cupboard with everything else. There are far more effective drugs to hand if you wanted to do a Shipman (Potassium/Propofol/Rocuronium - we use them every day) Thankfully very few of us are serial killing psychopaths.

The artist, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr, passed away at a friend’s house, his longtime manager, Jarez Posey, told the Associated Press.

A cause of death was not immediately confirmed.

I can’t say I saw more than about 10 minutes of the coverage yesterday or follow the whole carry on, beyond knowing her and Harry have moved abroad and effectively left the royal family. Also, beyond this place, I’m pretty much off social media. Would I be right in guessing that her attendance created more outrage than that of Prince Andrew?

To be honest, she wasn’t mentioned any more than any other members of the family It’s just certain “journalists” that are unhealthily obsessed by her. Harry was mentioned more than she was as he wasn’t in uniform etc. She really didn’t get much coverage not to mention criticism.

Why are you no fan of Meghan out of interest?

    Sly eyes.

I don’t like the way she makes up stories to either garner sympathy or to put herself on a pedestal which are then disproven by people who were present and know the facts. I don’t like liars. There are other things but it’s more of a distrust of her motives whilst she makes herself out to be a victim.  However I also think her relentless hounding by certain sections of the media is a disgrace. In regards to the funeral and Wooton’s vitriol; she didn’t put a foot wrong yesterday. She was respectful and appropriate and will no doubt be happy to get the hell out of the country.
