  1. 5 points away from relegation now. Fucksakes.
  2. Schar looked a bit shite. Hopefully just rusty.
  3. Stream on this page: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/braga-newcastle-live-united-14979390
  4. Same fixture last year was a draw. Southampton have also drawn away against Brighton and Huddersfield, which is about our level. It's got draw written all over it. 3-1 to the sausage shakers!
  5. Rafa said this about Mitro at a charity do at Tyneside Cinema last month. Apologies if this has already been posted as it's not brand new, but Rafa seems to state he does rate Mitro and is willing to play him as a sub when we need a goal, but he suits playing in a good team and not a shite one like we have now. “Mitro – I have had a lot of conversations with him. He needed to play and I couldn’t guarantee he would play. “Some people say ‘Oh Rafa is stubborn and he doesn’t want to recognise he made a mistake’. No, it’s not like this. Because if it was like this I wouldn’t play Mitro at all. But I was playing him, sometimes for 20 minutes. Why? Because I wanted him to score the winning goal. “People forget one thing: the players who play or are on the bench or on the stands but the manager is involved in every single game and I want to win every single game. For me, it’s about picking the right team to ensure we can win. “Mitro needed to play. I couldn’t guarantee the way that we wanted to play (he would play). If you know Mitro really well – if you attack and you create a lot of chances and crosses he will score goals, no doubt that. But a team that has 40-45 or even 35% possession in some games, you have to defend in some games, you have to play counter-attack. If you don’t have all these players who can do that and you have to sacrifice something. “We were talking about the main thing of this team – it is the team, the organisation of the team. If we don’t do that, we will be exposed. When we went 1-0 up against Man United (in the Old Trafford game) or Chelsea, we were a little bit open and we conceded. “In the FA Cup against Chelsea we had to attack in the second half so we were open and we conceded. We couldn’t manage it. The team is the key and the characteristic of the players are crucial. For me, I have to do the best for both.”
  6. Another candid chat with MFA story: http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2018/02/08/nufc-fan-shares-fascinating-details-of-his-brief-chat-with-mike-ashley-in-central-london-today/ Staveley deal off full stop apparently. No other buyers right now and no willingness to invest himself. If you believe this type of shite of course.
  7. Rafa said he would only let players go out if he had replacements coming in. I am hoping this means a striker loan is all but sorted.
  8. 17th in that scenario rather than bottom 3, but sinking inevitably closer.
  9. I think the Ashley PR machine are pretty fucking good like. To be fair, I want them not to sign Jorgensen as he's a bit shit. So I'd rather no signing than the 20M signing. Which they bid 12M for. But whatever. I don't want him. Ashley in!
  10. Leeds white power crest might even trump Sheffield Wednesday's rimming owl.
  11. The naive optimistic part of me says 20M plus 15M for Mitro = Bas Dost. Mitro gets 3 red cards for Brighton before the end of the season. To be realistic, he's probably already sold and we're paying 5M net for Troy Deeney and might not even get him over the line.
  12. It's alright lads. Dennis Wise has chipped in with some reassuring news that Mike Ashley is reluctant to sell because he only wants to sell to a buyer that is going to take the club forward and not sell to a buyer that is only coming in to make a quick buck from the next TV deal money. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/newcastle-united/11211758/ashley-wont-sell-to-just-anyone That's a relief. We wouldn't want anyone like that.
  13. Define exclusive https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/674326/Amanda-Staveley-Newcastle-transfer-news-Mike-Ashley-EXCLUSIVE-Premier-League-news
  14. Yep. This is what I am saying. There is a lot of talk of taking Kenedy on loan. I would take him on a loan deal with an option to buy. I would not take him on a half season then return option as it will do nothing to improve our chances of staying up.
  15. Totally agree. But can and will be better than what we have in a year or 2. Hence why I'd take him as one for the future and not one to help keep us up this season.
  16. Kenedy has masses of potential. I'd take him on an Atsu style loan where we buy him at the end of the season if we're still in the prem. But if the deal is to give him game time for half a season to bring him up from being totally shite to just a bit shite, then we are better of with the wide players we have already, who are mainly just a bit shite.
  17. Sounds like Lascelles was limping when he was subbed. Hope it's not going to keep him out for the next match.
  18. They might just be trading. His value goes up when he's got more than 6 months left on his contract.
