  1. - on the plus side, it's George Caulkin. - on the minus side, no quotes and wor Derek is full of bullshit. No need to get the bunting out just yet.
  2. Is there any room to walk in your house?! Or are things piled up into aisles?
  3. When I was young I had a large collection of comics - Marvel, 2000 AD, Commando. My mam threw them all out when I went to college. Wish I still had them now.
  4. Have no regrets - people with firsts generally have no life experiences worth speaking about.
  5. Well you can only say with hindsight it was a lousy signing. It was those serious injuries (foot/knee) that did for him, if he hadn't had those he would still have got injured imo but with the sort of muscle niggles Martins gets. The sad thing is that he's sucked away huge amounts of money on transfer fees and wages that could have been used to strengthen the team. Still, that's not his fault, and we'd have probably wasted the money on more JFK "bargains" anyway.
  6. tbh I was hoping for a period of anonymity
  7. I know what you mean. I looked at their criticism of Owen and I thought, well he's no different to the rest of the mercenaries really. but that was his only problem during his time at Newcastle so far as I'm concerned. I really went off him when he turned out for England v Sweden in 2006 and did his knee. He freely admits he wasn't fully fit and yet he still turned out notwithstanding he'd been out for ages before that with his metatarsal. He was never the same player afterwards and to me that episode illustrated how little he thought of NUFC. I don't blame him for wanting to play for his country but he must have known the risks he was taking when he wasn't fit. England's Michael Owen.

  9. He has also been known to imbibe beer with MVB. I'll always be grateful to him for inventing sliced bread too.
  10. The club's like the Titanic, looks like we've got the deckchairs to match now.
  11. Everyone's for sale anyway....
  12. Taylor and Beye model the new away kit....
  13. It's still all about superstar Michael Owen. The sooner he pisses off and distracts some other club with his self absorbed bullshit, the better. He's an ex-player from 1 July and we've more important things to worry about.

    Lovely Leeds

Tuppenny whore: "Oooh go on lover boy, show me the pen is mightier than the sword" PB: "Never mind that you dirty bitch, get yer minge round me courgette! "
  15. Not sure about Liverpool. They might well have to weaken their squad this summer.
  16. I thought that was a decent read actually. Fucking depressing at the same time, it hammers home the need for a well heeled and patient new owner. I assume the transfer/loyalty liabilities highlighted will be taken into account in the price.
  17. How about someone a bit closer to home who has connections in the oil industry but more likely to be considered a buffoon than a tycoon? Someone....offshore perhaps?
  18. It's from the Northern Echo and nothing else but a paraphrase of recent newspaper articles. Aha. Lazy "journalism" strikes again...
  19. Maybe it's 60% because they don't want to lose Ashley's expertise
  20. Where's that from CT? Not one quote I notice, it could be largely made up sadly.
  21. It's not as if there's much of a story there anyway
  22. Ashley on the phone: "Yes Chris. I'll be there 9 am sharp tomorrow. Don't worry I'll have the cheque ready for you. 100%. Looking forward to seeing you then. OK. I'll be there. With the cheque. Yeah no worries. Bye." * Books immediate flight to Dubai *
  23. Sad thing for me was I actually started to think "hang on 60% doesn't make sense" then realised the key word.
