Just imagine what Bruce could have achieved with proper investment. Just goes to show the best English manager in the game had two hands tied behind his back by Ashley.

Given that he hasn’t been convicted of anything or banned from football I’m wondering can they sack him? My hunch is that their lawyers have told them that they owe him back pay from his suspension and will have to pay up his contract to get him to leave.
Isn't Mendy looking all his wages from his suspension at Man City? @LondonBlue
Youre probably right that they cant sack him, but they dont have to restore him to the first team squad. Unless they believe hes innocent ofc

Nope. He was being a bitter old cunt
I think there's every chance he nodded off after 30 minutes, and needed to be kicked awake at full time

Their angle seems to be how do we justify bringing him back in, rather than weighing up the right thing to do. Basically they dont want to lose their asset.

I know this it's inappropriate to focus on a turn of phrase here, given just how evil that transcript is, but did he really say "Damn me"? It made him sound like a Victorian era gammon. Maybe he was role playing Stephen Fry as the Duke of Wellington as a rapist...

There's really no point to VAR if it's not seen to be impartial, fair and competently done. It was supposed to eliminate controversy, all it does is stoke it. Most people said last season it was shite or bent (or both) and its going to be more of the same this season.
Scrap it I say....invest in the recruitment, training and pay of elite officials, with a separate body from the PL overseeing the performance and fitness of officials. If someone isn't cutting the mustard they should be dropped and forced to work their way back in or retire. This isnt hard.

didn't they end up getting a £10m loan/investment* off dell or some other yanks to fix the lift at the academy and replace a couple of tannoy speakers?
*no money laundering scam to be seen here.
I think it was a loan iirc. And there was definitely something about not having the money to fix a lift

Great post but you forgot to mention the multi billionaire who owned dell that was going to transform them till it didn't happen again.
Michael Dell? Presumably he wanted to invest in the club so he could learn how to run a football club from Stewart Donald

It’s incredible that it’s taken this long for these fucking window lickers to realise what everyone else could see from day 1.
Delewded.
Just what I was thinking.
First they had Stewart and Charlie, "real" owners who gave them their club back(if they replaced their own seats ); then they had the trust fund kid who was minted and a genius.
Based on no evidence at all, KLD was going to spend mega bucks in a really smart way to take the club back to where they belong. Despite the kid plainly being unable to scratch his arse without mummy's permission, and being about as much use as that Sartori bloke (who was also a genius and minted, not sure now what his status is now).
They really have no clue about the sort of losses they must be making by stinking up the lower leagues, and expect successive owners to spunk vast amounts of money straight down the drain, simply because it's them. Because in the world beyond their bedrooms and attics there's a conveyor belt of Ellis Shorts desperate to lose fortunes on SAFC.
It might be a start if they stop shitting on their seats and start paying for tickets. No, on second thoughts it's much better to bitch and moan on a website for windowlickers and bewwww the owners.

the greatest of all timeit was our go to watch after the pub or rave in our student house.
”Carlton! Carlton!”

Phil Neal, the ultimate yes man assistant coach, parroting Taylor’s every word.
The deft editing - Taylor confidently declaring Poland are scared of Gazza cutting to him screaming “fucking Paul” from the touchline.
Or a coaching session with him saying “what we don’t want is to be caught quick break” segueing seamlessly to us getting done on the counter.
The whole thing is genius
It was unintentional comedy gold. Iirc Lawrie Mcmenemy lurked in the background throughout in a full length dirty mac being fuck all use to anybody I think they had a character in the Dave Basset movie who was a carbon copy of Mcmenemy including the raincoat (except he was also a used car salesman)

Well if its to be believed, Stavely got 15 million quid off the Gordon deal, £60 down to £45 million, £15 million saving. All done calmly. Contrast with Stewart Donald (or is Donald Stewart, honestly can never remember), who managed to get Will Grigg down to £3 million from * checks notes * erm, £250,000.
Sorry, the mackems have beaten us on this one. I didn't laugh once watching this. 😁
I have to admit, I was at a loose end the other night and watched most of S2 of STID for the lols.
The Will Grigg negotiations were laugh out loud funny, followed by footage of multiple misses by said Grigg ("Grigg's not on fire"), losing to Portsmouth in the Checkatrade trophy, the mackems talking about the Checkatrade trophy like it was actually a real trophy, and then losing to Charlton Athletic in the play off final. All accompanied by Donald looking like he was having a heart attack and Methven being a stereotypical posh southern tory cunt whilst trying to pretend he wasn't.
Honestly it was the funniest thing I'd seen in ages, just one disaster after another with deadpan commentary by one ugly person after another.

I don't think we're finished yet on the recruitment front. The focus atm seems to be shifting unwanted players out, hopefully this frees up the funds (esp on the wages side)to bring more in.

I agree. We've signed 5 players (including Hall) for approx $130m and given the squad genuine depth and options from the bench for the first time in years. Fucking brilliant!
Not bad considering we only had the money to sign 2 average players from relegated clubs according to a certain Mr L. Edwards.
