McStay an outstanding midfielder... Agreed. Collins wasn't bad but McStay was average at best and nowhere near as good as Gary Mac Best 5 Scottish midfielders since 1980 1 Graeme Souness 2 Gary McCallister 3 Gordon Strachan 4 John Collins 5 Paul Lambert - for his achievements Collins is a toon fan as well you know. Ian Durrant pre-injury would certainly have been in the top 5, and perhaps as a dark horse John Wark, there can't be too many midfield players in that era who had a better goalscoring record at the highest level. Durrant was a good player, but he didn't do himself justice in the few games he had in England. The Sheep as they called are cunts, that song they sing about him "Who's that lyin at Pitoddrie, who's that lyin on the floor, it looks like Ian Durrant cos Simmy's gone and fucked his knee and he won't be playin for Rangers anymore." Cunts. That was Neil Simpson, who we signed but he only played a few times for us. John Wark would've been considered for my top five if it wasn't for his ridiculous tash. Ian Durrant went to Everton on loan after his injury, so perhaps that's why he didn't do himself justice, and he was better than good, Souness himself said that he was the finest midfield player of that type he'd seen at that age, and he wasn't that bad a player too, I was at Durrant's debut against Morton in 1985 and you could see even then he was something special, as for the Aberdeen fans, well what can you say apart from that it's a disgusting song that shouldn't be aired anywhere, a bit the same as the Munich air crash song.

  3. Was some Scottish people in front of me at the match today, whipped out a Scotland Flag when the teams came out, was that you? I thought our support today was very good in numbers but distinctly average in terms of noise. No mate, we were in N1 about half a dozen rows from the back, but I knew there were a few Rangers fan coming down to watch the toon as it was discussed on the website follow follow.
  4. I've just arrived back in Scotland after being at today's game, I'm a lifelong Rangers fan and a from afar Newcastle supporter for almost 30 years, but I made one observation today, if the players put in as much effort in backing the team as the fans do in supporting them we'd have been in the Champions League this week & challenging for the Premiership title, the support was absolutely magnificent today, my hat off to each and every single one of u.
  5. Does anyone have any idea how many Wigan tickets, if any, are still available for Sunday, as Rangers aren't playing over the weekend we were thinking of running a bus to Wigan to back the Toon.
  6. Over the last few years he was one of their best players.. It all really depends on which Fernando Ricksen we get, the drunken one who lets off fireworks in the early hours of the morning and sings Rangers songs through Celtic player Alan Thompson's letterbox, or the Fernando who had a brilliant season as skipper before handing the captain's armband back to Barry Ferguson during pre-season, then returning to the drunken Ricksen of old, also one and a half good season's in five for Rangers certaintly didn't endear himself to the Rangers support, certainly not a right back, even Bobby Petta (not what u do when the wife isn't looking) tore him to ribbons, but possibly a shitebag hothead in midfield like Robbie Savage, who'll karate kick players and resort to fly kicks off the ball at times.
  7. Incredible isn't it? Is there another club in the country where the coaching staff hold talk-ins in bars and then announce to the fans how shit certain CURRENT players are and how they don't deserve to be playing for the club? I don't think much of Luque and I can well imagine that what Clark is saying is true, but he shouldn't be saying it. Unfortunately Roeder set the tone for this sort of thing when he said that he wished Boumsong hadn't come back after the World Cup. We have no sort of professionalism from the coaching and management staff upwards. Shambles. I disagree, the fans should know why a certain player isn't playing, for example on a saturday u watch a player turn in a truly woeful performance, and u think what do they practice on the training ground if anything if that's the kind of performance he'll produce when it really matters, no matter what league u watch around the world u get the "badge kissers", do they really give a feck about their clubs or supporters, no they don't, as long as they pick up their fat salary at the end of the month they'll be happy, and continue to fleece the club with below par performances and childish behaviour. Bollocks, it should be dealt with professionally within the club. Like I said earlier in the thread, can you see this happening at another club? Do you think Wenger, Ferguson or Benitez would let their coaches sit in front of a bar full of fans and badmouth one of their player? Would they fuck. So if Clark was asked why Luque wasn't playing, while we were still persisting in using not even a half fit Ameobi ahead of him, he should lie through his teeth and say he's a model pro who puts his heart and soul into his training, or on the other hand he refuses to comment, either way the fans who pay their hard earned cash towards these individuals get the wool pulled over their eyes again, I know what I'd like to hear, the truth.
  8. Thanks for the info guys, it's much appreciated.

  10. I'm taking my two boys to the match on Thursday against Celta Vigo, can anyone point me in the direction of any pubs/clubs near the ground that are children friendly.
  11. Sounds credible as Moore is as mobile as a pole... Yeah he was never the quickest with The Rangers either, infact he always was as slow as a week in the jail , well that's Moore and Boumsong we've given the toon, how about taking a pick of our other centre halves i'e Julien Rodriguez.
  12. Just wanted your opinion on Craig Moore, as an avid Rangers fan and Newcastle supporter for almost 30 years I was wondering how the aforementioned player is doing in a black and white shirt, and have the fans taken to him. Moore at one point was our club captain, and had a few really good years with The Rangers, but then seemed to fall by the wayside in his last two years with us, has his form been any better with the toon?.
