  1. I reckon it's a decent signing.

It's an extra body, he's neat and tidy, has a good engine and won't let us down. He's an upgrade on gosling, bigi, Jonas and marveaux in the middle of the park.

He doesn't take us forward though as he's very similar (no better) to Anita in my eyes.

  2. Absolutely pathetic display from beginning to end.

Pardew has been hung out to dry by the FCB, but the lack of urgency and passion is on him.

But it's easy to simply blame the manager, the players have to stand up and perform. No excuses for some of the bad decision making by HBA, Tiote and Sissoko in particular.

  3. Not a deflection that happened, but the balls heading straight at Gouff who only moves away at the last moment, Hart had to be prepared for Gouff to get a little touch on it

The deflection off demechilis makes the decision worse. Hart was beaten all ends up, the deflection takes it even further away from him.

I assumed he thought gouff had touched it but seemingly not. It's a staggeringly incompetent decision.

I really didn't see the mym tackle as red. It was a regulation cynical yellow card challenge - you see two a week in the prem. The fact that Nasri is injured is clouding people's judgement.

  4. Andy flower alluded to the fact that England haven't scored 400+ for a very long time. The signs were there for a while, our top order have basically been found out, Australia have spotted weaknesses and had the patience to bowl to very good plans and the England players have been unable or unwilling (KP) to adapt. The bowling in the main has been good, but Johnson was head and shoulders above everyone else.

  5. I think he was probably Tiote's replacement but no-one ended up putting an offer in for him. As good a player as Cabaye is, Sissoko, Tiote, Anita, Bigi and a new face would be decent enough cover if we got a big offer for him

I don't think any of that lot can replace him. He's head and shoulders more influencial than any of them, he controls matches for us.

Both Tiote and Cabaye look much more saleable assets this season than last, so we've got to expect better offers in the next two windows.

  6. Nice one, congratulations. Have you told the other lot you won't be seeing them on Monday, or you gonna have to start and hand your notice in soon after?

Nah, thankfully it was through a recruiter so I just told them i'm not gonna be there monday. i sent the chief exec a courtesy email, but he's not responded.

Now got a week off before I start in new role.

  7. It'll undoubtedly makes me a cathword in the eyes of the employer. But:

Job 1 - 90 minute commute, no bens, small company, no real ability to progress

Job 2 - 30 minute commute, loads of perks, massive company, all sorts of progression opportunities

    It's not even close.

It may be that I'll get an answer from the better job this week and just never join the other company. I haven't signed a contract yet and it states that during the probationary period either party can give a week's notice.

Over the moon.... Got the new role.. Today's my leaving drinks so a night on the celebratory sauce awaits.

  8. It may be worth saying to the other company that you have another offer but would prefer to work for them. I suppose it depends on how many candidates they have for interview but they may be able to pull yours forward so you'll know the outcome before you start in the new place.

They know that I have another offer and that my notice is in and they've moved very quickly to get me in twice. That's one of the reasons I feel pretty confident of getting an offer from them.

  9. Hope you get the opportunity to make yourself very unpopular!

    Me too. Cheers

Aye, I'd say so too. And if they're giving you the same notice clause then they can hardly argue the toss if you choose to exercise it. I suppose the only thought is if there's a possibility you'd be applying for something else with them in future.

I think it's very unlikely TBH. It's whether they have the contacts and venom to muddy my name more widely within the industry.

  10. It'll undoubtedly makes me a cathword in the eyes of the employer. But:

  11. Ye kna what's shite? Sambuca. Ye kna what I buy at about half 1 in the morning that tips me over into being mortal? Sambuca. There should be a picture of my face in every bar in the town and they shouldn't sell it to me if I walk in.

It's rank stuff, it has no redeeming features, apart from the potential for giving third degree burns to pissed up arseholes.

I'd wager no one has ever drunk it sober.

  12. A bit demob happy.

Start a new job in a week's time and playing out time.

Quite gutted I didn't get put on gardening leave.

The situation has become a bit more complicated. Due to start the new job next week.

But I have a second interview for a different (better) job on Thursday and they've given very strong indications that I'll get it. Could well find myself in a situation where I am starting a job and leaving within a few days - that'll make me popular.

Anyone done this, had an employee do it?

  13. More bad refereeing over the weekend.

The Wes Brown tackle was hard and fair, his legs came up after the tackle and made it look more dangerous than it was.

I think 9/10 times Bolasie gets a yellow card and that would be right.

Mirallas has to go as does Rooney. Medel will do well to escape a ban, but the ref didn't see it.

On the flip side, well played Clattenburg though for giving a penalty for the shirt pulling. Brave decision, which most wouldn't bother with.

  14. I don't think playing in Europe is a fitness issue, but it can be a tactical issue and one of momentum.

When you are playing well it can actually be an advantage to be playing twice a week - see our Championship season.

It's when you are not playing well that it's hard to dedicate time to improving attack wise/eradicating mistakes.
