I believe Shepherd is probably making enquiries about other managers. He's hardly going to advertise the fact though is he!? I believe that with Souness we will finish in the top 6. Not very good considering, but don't forget that in Bobby's first 2 seasons we finished 13th and 11th.

So O'Leary, Bruce, McClaren, et al turn us down and we END UP WITH SOUNESS. In order to look like a club that even half knows what it's doing, a club should ride storms and regroup in the summers. Coming from spanish footy to the prem, with no pre season or practically any training with his new team he gets thrown into his debut straight away, against one of the top teams in the prem, whilst we are in the middleof a crisis and playing shite and having little or no help in attack because of our manager/formation, the injuries etc. And people think you can judge him on this??? You don't judge any player after one game, some players do little for a season before becoming great players (Henry, Pires etc at arsenal being the best examples) 21099[/snapback] Has it ever happened with a manager? Boumsong is fine...I don't know if you watch much football, but I've seen mistakes from Ferdinand and Campbell that'd make you spit out your Bovril. It happens to goalies and defenders. If a striker misses a sitter you just don't score. If a defender/GK fucks up you concede a goal. I think Boumsong will turn out to be an excellent buy and I agree with the positive influence he has on the others as he's a talker on the pitch.

I agree. There are far better managers out there than O'leary and Bruce. We should be making enquiries as to Sven's next plan after the World Cup as well as keeping an eye on other candidates from abroad as well as Stuart Pearce. The next manager should not be: O'Leary Allardyce Roeder Venables Burly Moyes Bruce Shearer We should stick with Souness until the end of the season at least and go for a proper replacement if Souey fails.

I think his point is that if he hadn't picked them, everyone would be on Souey's back for fielding a negative team.
