1. For me it started to go wrong when Keegan decided to go, due to the issue of going public. We went for the wrong man in Dalglish who dismantled rather than built upon what was already there. This was proven by the fact that when we did appoint the man, the like of whom we should have appointed, Sir Bob, things started to turn forward again. Only to be reversed again by the calamitous handling of his leaving of the club.
2. Also as a by product, McLarens stock rises at the FA hopefully meaning we get the pick of managers, and Should England (and its a big if) get in the same situation as last time against a Brazil or likewise McLaren may have the balls to go for it unlike Swen who sat on his hands!!
3. For me Their players deserved it, because they played well and earned it. Steve mcLaren deserved it for having the guts to go for it and changing things for the positive Steve Gibson deserved it for his commitment to the club. Their "support" didn't deserve it. Half baked attendances complaining like F*** about McLarens negative ways and mostly because any team who needs a pig bag tune after a goals been scored are about as plastic as you can get.
4. Am I right in thinking tht article is unattributed? If so, wonder why. Truth hurts mind. My thinking all along is about how many of the recent teams Souness has put out would change, in reality its usually about four players not the 8 to 11 bollocks he keeps stating.
5. Didn't disagree with you for a second about shepherd mate, it was your comment about the past. My original post was about how we have underachieved for so long, I personally think its relative as theres a virtually continuous thread of poor management at the club shepherd is just the current version.
6. Life didn't start with John Hall. May be wrong but our biggest attendance was in the fifties 60k plus, against Chelsea I think. Fan base has always been there, reason the attendances were low was the dross that was served up, back to my original point, poor managment over many years, but hey thats the past nowt to do with anything thats happening today, Eh, Alex? 84192 I'm not quite sure what you're getting at, are you suggesting that mismanagement in the past exonerates Shepherd of blame for the present? How long's he been running the show now? 84193 Point i'm getting at is highlighted above. Shepherd is only the latest in a line. John Hall being the exception. Where shepherd is concerned other than a spell in bobbies tenure we have vastly underachieved Dalglish, Gullit Souness all failed. The only constant throughout is Shepherd. That makes him a failure as a football chairmen, Good business man, but failed football chairman. Strangely I think part of it is not actually his fault, Financially, he is hamstrung in doing what The halls need out of this club, i.e. money to prop up their failed businesses rather.

8. Every time I see the ground I always think to myself "How bad must you be to make such a bad job of this over such a long time" OK so theres always a dominant force in English football Liverpool, Manu, Arsenal, Chelsea but even now when you look at that list of teams who've won at least a cup its a damning indictment of poor management.
9. Was there the day he Chipped Joe Corrigan, 6 ft 4 in I think. Pure unadulterated genius. Happy birthday and thank you little Peter.
10. A friend in the media reckons it's depression. 66942 Disappointingly, Dyer D Diatribe Disrupted
11. I think it's a clutching at straws approach to appease the fans by saying someone who is 50-50 will be back for Saturday. It's a desperate act to try and say things will improve, but keeps blowing up in his face when they relapse. 66098 But all it leads to is another round of press reports and puts them under more scrutiny than before. Completely shite PR if you ask me!
12. This dont make no sense to me, if its something they are aware of and are trying to keep it out of the media, why keep saying he's nearly back and bringing it back up in the media again? Just shut the Ferk up and keep him out of sight until (or should I say if?) he is back properly?
13. Relax, it's not going to happen. Souness will be with us long enough to let us get so pissed off that we accept Shearer and Roeder in temporary charge until the end of the season, which will prove to be less than succesful at which time we accept 5th on the list again. See, Freddie's got a plan!!
14. Which if you read further on the rumours page will result in Souness getting the push... A draw it is then! 63904 They score first, Souness gets abuse, we equalise late on, Freddie peddles him, Roeder & Shearer take temporary charge (Cos freddie thinks thats we want it and we cant move on till he's tried it), we bumble along, we avoid relegation, Freddie starts looking again, We Start next season with our 6th choice, Come December 2006 I post this again but change the names!!
