Have to agree with alex about Martins. Until he actually learns how to play the game he'll always be a player with pace who can score the occasional flash goal but never be a consistently good striker. We miss him now for sure but that's because the alternatives are a young kid or a donkey like ameobi. He's certainly not as good as people are making him out to be at this point in his carreer. I don't want to get rid of him though. I'd like to add Bent as he can hold the ball up, score goals, has pace and can play as a lone striker. Once he get's his confidence back and plays in a team that actually wants him then I think he'll find his form. I agree with Sniffer ( I think it was him ) that he'd be a good buy for us if we have the opportunity.

No I think he'll err on the side of safety and look at the 60+ group to resestablish himself. Saying that, Khan has more chance of beating Barrera than Ricky Hatton has against Manny P. This could be a real mismatch.

n'zogbia is far too light weight for the centre of midfiled but emre is not much better. Play him in his position wide left as he's rubbish at LB and flog emre in the summer.

Viduka is a carthorse who is only getting slower as he ages. We need a forward who can not only hold the ball but also has pace. I'd like to see off Martins and Viduka and get Darren Bent in the summer. That's just for starters but would be a huge improvement up front.

And stiles was an inside forward, I suppose?

I was under the impression Duncan Edwards was a midfield player. More likely the that skinny git stiles would have been out of the team rather than Moore.

Fucking disgrace IMO. Adebayor pins the nut on Bendtner very clearly in front of the entire country and gets away with it. Bowyer and Dyer scuffle and both get sent off and the police claim that they'll look at the incident. Where are the police now? Is wenger going to suspend adebayor? I don't know who came up with languid to describe ameobi. It must be mean slow as shite these days. Yet another change in meaning of a word...like gay meant carefree at one time or something like that.

Thev only reason anybody can point to a handful of acceptable games from ameobi is because the rest of them really stunk. For many of these games he ambled around posing no threat at all to the opposition. He is next to useless in the air, slow without a decent shot, frequently offside and doesn't have a strikers instinct to take the shortest route to goal when put through. So what is there to like about him? By the way, Chopra had nothing like the opportunities that ameobi's had. I'm not saying Chopra would be a first choice striker, but people on here have been whining for 5 years or so that ameobi is still learning and he's still only marginally better now than then. Given the chances, I think Chopra will be a decent player because he is still on the learning curve....nothing to do with his hatrick at the weekend...and will be a better player than ameobi in the long run.

I'd add that if Martin's is worth 10 mill then Bent, who can play up front by himself as well as score goals, is worth close to 15 mill at current valuations. But then , idiots on here actually think ameobi is a good player so really, 'nuff said.

If Roeder can't sign a quality player then there is no point in throwing away good money. Wouldn't surprise me if Roeder is also turned off by foreigners who need a year or two to settle in if they ever do adjust to the premier league. May as well keep the powder dry until the summer if he can't get the likes of Wayne Bridge now.
