I don't think it's a question of supporting him, I for one do not like him at all. But I recognise what he could bring to the team in terms of pace and movement (something we are desperately lacking). I think almost everyone realises the reality is that he will never make an impact with any team ever again beacuse of his fitness problems. And I would play him alongside Parker tbh. I like Emre but I don't think what he does is the type of work that is suited to our team.

That must be I have no clue about some of the things you post. I usually just keep quiet though so I don't appear to be the uneducated oaf that I am -
Perhaps Renton can tell us what he will be like playing for the first team?

Make your own mind up about it tbh. Death of the author and all that I feel like that should mean something to me but it's years since I read through it Sorry, it probably doesn't. The concept of 'Death of the Author' iirc is that once a book (can be applied to films, etc.) is completed then it can take on multiple meanings given by the reader or viewer in this case. Even meanings that were never intended in the first place. It especially applies to something like 'Donnie Darko' imo. Oh I see now. Yeah I agree but it definitely can help to hear someone else's perspective with some films. 2001 is a prime example of that. The first time I watched it I didn't get it at all but Happy Face posted a link to website about it earlier in this thread and after viewing that I am watching it with a different perspective and enjoying it a lot more (although this may also have something to do with a number of things such as me knowing what to expect with it, me being older and actually giving it my full attention when I watch it). Regardless I still think the Donnie Darko website (iirc) does explain or rather expand on some things without stopping you from applying your own meanings. Also (again iirc) I'm sure the guy who made DD said he wanted the film and the website to go hand in hand so you could consider them to be a combined artistic statement. -
We are desperate for Dyer to come back tbh but I'm sure those who despise him will never recognise that. Mind you I fully expect him to breakdown a game and half into his comeback and never play regularly again.

Donnie Darko. Tried to watch it all but I was too fucked by the time they stuck a news break in the middle. Class film though and the website (if it's still up) is well worth a look as it does help explain some stuff. -
iffffy. Only heard a couple of songs so far but I think I quite like it. I've got a hold of that Annuals album now too so I need to give that a listen as well.

I've got their album and I have to I can't make my mind up about it at the moment. Yeah, it's very much an album you have to be in the right mood for. I was thinking that. Probably have to listen to it at the right time too. I don't think it's an album to listen to while driving to work! I'd agree with that one! It's probably a very good late-night driving album. Yeah, I love listening to Yo La Tengo's And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out when I'm driving late and I thought it might have a similar effect. Roads by Portishead is without doubt the best late night driving song though. Still love 'Dummy', especially 'It Could Be Sweet'. One of the best albums ever without doubt.

Jens Lekman never did it for me when I first listened to it but I've listened to odd songs again recently and I am liking them a lot, I will have to give it another go. Off the top of my head, my favourite scandanavian bands currently are; I'm From Barcelona Sarena-Maneesh Love Is All The Figurines (Are the Envelopes from there as well?)

Which can only be good news if their last two albums are anything to go by!
-
Does any one know what is the cheapest sky package you can have and not have to pay the £10 a month for sky plus?
-
Yeah they're very good, there's a lot of excellent music comming out of Scandanavia at the moment.

I must watch it again. I've seen it once and quite enjoyed it (all of the acting is brilliant) but I think it's one that well imrpove with more viewings. Agree about the music too. -

I liked it but I made the mistake of watching it in bits instead of one go. I need to see it again. -
They got a good review from Stylus yesterday so I'm in the process of trying to aquire their album.

Aye I noticed the Hunger is on there about three times before the end of the month. I've never managed to watch more than about five minutes of it myself. -

Ya nar what it is? I spend bloody hours searching the world in an apparantly fruitless task looking an unreleased dvd made in the same year as bloody world war 2! my incredible detective work eventually leads me to the arse end of the planet where i find a copy of this much loved film. And they moan aboot the fecking price! thats gratitude for ya! Whey if it's going to be on free telly I'll save myself a tenner. Your link might come in handy if I miss it though. Many thanks. Dunno why i bother tbh. http://tcmonline.co.uk/listings/movie_deta...?movieId=114987 Muchos Gracias. Not sure if I've got TCM. And I'll be at work Maybe this could be the time to learn how the timer works on the DVD recorder. You call yourself a film fan and you don't know if you have TCM. You get some classic (albeit often repeated) films on there for free. Adverts on most of them though (but not too often). -

Rebecca's good but it's quite different from a lot of Hitchcock films and doesn't have the same sort of energy that other ones have. It's a bit overrated for me. -

"leaving behind a suicide note that attributed his action to boredom" Christ, I've never been THAT bored. Have a game of scrabble or something. I dunno, I feel that way going to most home games these days!
