So can we have any stats to prove that?
-
They were very different players though. Ginola may have been better to watch, but the fact is Robert was more productive in terms of goals and assists. Robert also played in a worse team, and overall had a greater influence than Ginola imo; it would have been interesting to see him a Keegan team. Can anyone provide details of these stats? I'm not saying anyone is wrong but I would just like to know.

Had a couple of days off sick so I've watched a few films. A History Of Violence. Canny but not as good as I expected. It felt a little rushed and seemed ridiculous how good at killing VM's character was, he was supposed to be an ex mob guy not Steven Segal in Nico! The Princess Bride. Seen it loads of times but it was Sci Fi again the other day. Fantastic film, just great fun from the off. Twelve Angry Men. One of the greatest films of all time and certainly the best court room drama. Fonda and Lee J Cobb have the showey parts but all of the cast are uniformly superb. His Girl Friday. Excellent farce with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell both in superb form. I also decided to give 2001 another chance but I fell asleep before the end (because I was knackered not because it was boring). I have to say I'm enjoying it much more this time around (probably beacuse I'm not expecting some action sci fi type of film) and I'm looking forward to watching the rest later. The special effects are brilliant it it's noticable that the spaceship designs have influenced vertually every sci fi film since, especially Star Wars and Alien! -
While Taylor's second challenge was worth of a yellow card and rash when you consider he had already been booked, the first booking was a complete joke. It was never even a foul much less a booking or pen which was confirmed moments later when Ferdinand got away with much more contact than Taylor made. The ref was simply weak and looking to even things up after he had (quite correctly) sent their lad off. Btw, Tayor was superb on Friday night (as was Ferdinand).

I can't belive anyone would pick Robert over Ginola. I like Robert and forgave him a lot but Ginola had skill that Robert couldn't dream of tbh. Robert could only beat a man if he was already in full flight when he received the ball, if he got it when he was stood still (which happens a lot with Robert) he was worse than useless. Ginola could beat anyone at any time. I don't know who had the better stats but I would pay a lot more to watch Ginola than Robert.

If he had the next day off (which is quite possible) then has he really done anything wrong on this occasion? There are plenty of other reasons to want rid of him (like him being shite) rather than this.

Tis ok, nowt special like. I've seen a great many better films than it and I wouldn't be in a hurry to watch it again.

Unlike the last two games I think I will go to these ones. At least it feels worthwhile qualifying for something like this.

First hour of J&SBSB is pretty cack, but it gets going. I thought Mallrats was terrible. It is in some ways and is obviously an attempt to make a Kevin Smith film with studio restrictions. But Jason Lee is fantastic as are Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. The rest of it is way too cheesy though. -
I think that's harsh tbh. I'm sure he will score goals for us but I admit I think we have spent over the odds at £10m when you look at who we could have signed for less.

Watched Dogma again last night, quality film. I really like everything Kevin Smith has done. Even Jersey girl is canny. -
Only because no fucker moves to give him anyone to pass to!

Moore is a fairly average player who knows his job. This puts him head and sholders above the rest of our senior defenders who are poor players who don't have a clue what they are doing. -
I know I was there (don't think I missed a home cup game in fifteen years before last season) but I must have blanked it from my memory.

Was that another one of our imfamous penalty shoot outs?

I have to say I don't think my expectations for the season were unrealistic. We finished 7th last year and got into European competition. Above us last year were Spurs and Blackburn. My expectations were to move improve on the awfull football played under Souness, to start running the club like other big clubs do (i.e. with a plan and with a propper coaching set up), and to finish at least one place higher than last term getting into the wafa cup proper and making some headway on the gap between us and the top four team (I did not expect this gap to be closed and I never go into a season expecting to win anything). For a club with our resources I do not see why this should be anything other than a sensible outlook for us. But as Gemmil and SLP have already pointed out our club is basically run on a day to day basis and nothing is planned for (if it were we would have had a striker in place before we played in the intertwobob and Shola would have been able to have an opperation they were talking about last summer) and as such we now find ourselves in a position where our squad is woefully short in numbers and ability at the back and up front we having to play a bloke who can't train alongside one who's having to adapt to moving from a different country having had no pre season with us with only player Citeh felt they didn't need and kid who can't play in Europe for cover. Add to that the fact that we have only one proper coach at the club (ie our manager). So far I see a team that is only marginally better than it was when Souness was in charge of it and probably worse than the one that finished the season (in terms of play if not personel). We have no pattern to our play, no idea how to defend and as far as I can see no idea who our strongest eleven are. We have some good players in midfield and I suspect we have a couple of strikers who can score a few goals for us (if they can stay fit) so doubt we will struggle in terms of relegation but I can no longer go into any game (home or away) confident of a good performance and a strong win and I feel that we are now firmly stuck within the masses of the premiership also rans such as Citeh, Boro, Fulham ect and can see us very shortly having to bridge a gap to teams like Spurs, Everton and Blackburn who appear to have less resources but are at least forward thinking in their attempts to utilise them.

Doesn't fit in with the fat fuckwit's Geordie nation "plan" tbh.

We'll never get anything back for Luque if he never gets a game. He has to be at least on the bench. Bramble on the other hand we'll never get anything for now anyway so he can rot. I'd be fairly happy with that team like although I might prefer Taylor in the middle to Rammage.

Older than Rob tbf.

Once again the club looks like a complete joke. A couple of months into his job we sack the bloke beacuse of some allegations without making any investigation into them and then we appoint someone without anything the qualifications to replace him. Yet again we are showing that with the current administration we will never be anything but a punchline for the jokes of others. I have absolutely no expectations to ever see us back amongst the elite clubs in this country let alone actually win anything. I am now back in exactly the same frame of mind towards this joke of a club as I was when Souness was in charge.

Money's the only problem tbh. Keep thinking I have things sorted and then keep finding out we owe more than I thought. That said I've just been on holiday and booked up for next year already and I have fantastic little girl who's coming on very nicely so I can't complain.

Now that's a porno I would pay to see.

The Constant Gardener. Half hour in and I didn't think I was going to like it but I'm glad I stuck with it. Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Wiesz are both really good and I really liked the way it started off showing her as being one thing then let you discover along with her husband that she is something different. It wasn't quite the thriller I was hoping for but a very good film all the same which really does make you wonder about what is going on in Africa.
