  1. As it seems likely we are to sign even more French players presumably the club will be known as Le nouveau chateau s`est uni. Is it any coincidence that the French flag has the same colours and sinilar layout as the Sports Direct logo.
  2. To be fair he has put the club on the straight and narrow. He did right in getting rid of the big earners and has been prima donnas but i disagreed with the sale of Andy Carroll and for me he has blown it big time with the attempt to rename the stadium.
  3. Its a disgrace that Ashley is destroying our History and heritage it shows nothing but contempt for the club and the fans. So what is a sponsorship deal brings in ten million nobodys exactly queing round the block to sign up, its just a cheap gimmick to promote his company. Sports direct.com at St James` Park was just about acceptable but to drop the name completly is not. And just suposing a sponser did come up with the cash the ground could end up being called any sort of daft name, Sorry but this is the equivalent of the 30 pieces of silver. And what next change of team colours/ ,change of club name? The City Council should be bringing in some kind of enforcement notice. Our ground allways has and allways will be ST JAMES` PARK
  4. Seems we have aquired yet another French player with Gabriel Obertan are our owner and his henchmen trying to improve thier French? So he has come via Manure and apparently speaks English but we have been down this road before they come with promise and the rest as they say is history meanwhile the English players are being shipped out by the bucketload. No matter how good ANY foreign player is we are going down the road of other premierhip clubs and loosing any trace of local identity. What sense of loyalty an they owe the club when some can hardly speak any English. I am not trying to be prejudiced but please Mr Ashley halt this slide or are we to end up like all the other clubs where the only interest a player has in what was once one of the greatest clubs in the land is his paycheque.
  5. Ashley bought the club on a whim he thought other millionaires own football clubs so i will get one. He stuck a pin in a map and we drew the short straw. To be totally fair the finances of the club were in dire straits and there is a very good chance we would have gone bankrupt. Ashley has largely sorted this out and has put a lot of his own money in, if it were you would yo have done the same? BUT As to where he has gone wrong well where do you begin no point in repeating it all as we all know the answers to that one. He should have bought in local experience somebody or some group that knew the club or as many of us want bought in supporters groups. Instead he just bought the club and went into everything blind and the consequences have been well we all know the answer to that one as well. If he has a shred of decency he should sell the club as soon as TO SOMEBODY WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING or let a group like NUST in to tell him what to do before its too late. I reckon we will JUST avoid rellegation this time round because there will be three teams worse but i am not putting any money on it and i reckon if we do stay up this season then we will definatly go down next season. We have now got a team that would struggle in the Coca cola league let alone the championship. If any of the money from Andy Carrols transfer is spent it will be on unknown foreign players or has been / reject players the likes of Arsenal or Manure dont want lets face it they arent going to sell us a decent player thats our job to sell to them Bellamy Milner etc. We have NO chance of getting a replacement of Carrolls standard unless we can find an up and coming player in the lower leagues. PLEASE let there be somebody out ther who can rescue our club.
  6. Agree with this. Got it in one. Agree with all points.

    Carroll Poll

It was the kids first full season! I think the best is yet to come from him and he'll be a fantastic player. When we have £20m in the bank and Carlton Cole up front, we'll miss Carroll. Dont the dickheads that run our club realise that at 22 he is at least 3 years off his peak. At the very least he should have stayed untill the summer. He could have been one of our greatest players. Three years from now he will be worth 50 million plus now he will be scoring for those smug scousers wheras us e i e i e i o Back to the Championship we go if not this season then definatly next unless of course B.F.M. actually DOES spend some of that 35 million on a decent replacement. Oops just had to duck to avoid th flying pig.
  8. There are a number of issues here Given was badly treated by the club and should have been shown more respect. When he went to Man City it was on a 3 year contract. Its dificult for goalkeepers as there can only be one so not much room for manouvere just look at how long Harper played second fiddle to Given. When he pushed out Joe Hart at Man City did it bother him, though in hindsight it probably did Hart a favour as it gave him the chance to shine at Birmingham City. Having said that he went to Man City on the understanding he would be number 1 keeper. The big issue here is that in aquiring Given along with thier other signings Man City were NOT bringing in a player because he was needed they are going round the clubs elliminating any player they see as a threat to winning the Premier league or other title. In many cases these players are then just chucked onto the bench with no hope of playing which is exactly where Given now is. To be chucked onto the scrapheap at 34 for a keeper is not on so you cannot blame him for wanting to move. As to the final question should he come back - Yes along with many others i dont think Harper is up to Premier league standard, though he would have to take his place and not expect to go straight back as Number 1 he could perhaps mix a few appearances with coaching. Tim Krul is the futeure though and wil make an outstanding keeper in time.
  9. They are the worst noise i have ever heard and totally destroy the atmosphere of the game (yes i know youre thinking what atmosphere?) But i am TOTALLY 100% in favour of a ban and while we are at it i would ban the flashing / chasing ad boards as well even on TV they distract you from watching the game. Best quote about the vuvuzellas was from a mate of mine who said they drown out all the shouts of Didnt you see that ref you must be F*****G blind.
  10. Well we are through to the third round of the Carling cup AND top of the league so heres to both.
  11. So Coca cola league 1 here we come - at this rate are we going to have ANYONE left by September 1st.
  12. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Have i missed something WHAT Big money signing????????????????
  13. Reckon the chants of Get out of our club you cocky fat bastard will do the trick? And the Shearer chants didnt hear one mention of Chris Haughton though he should get some credit for todays game (Would be interesting to know if he is still using Shearers training programe which he was doing when he first took over again) Still room for improvement but much better than some recent performances. If we could have played like that last season we would have stayed up. Long way to go yet though main thing is to get the ownership debacle sorted out FAST.
  14. Krul was briliant without a doubt. Could never understand why he hast been given more of a chance before after the Palermo game. Never rated Harper he can save a ball if its gifted to him but he is far to wooden and imobile for the Premiership ( or the Championship ).
  15. I felt most sorry for our illustrious team who didnt fancy slumming it on what no doubt would have been a luxury coach for a five hour drive to Dundee. Those of us not on around 50k a week have to slum it for hours on coaches or trains to travel around the country for what has become of late the dubious pleasure of seeing our lads in action. Living in the Midlands it takes me 4 hours by train to get to Newcastle and a second mortgage to buy the ticket. Out of curiosity i enquired once about the cost of flying though from Birmingham there is only a Business airline cost £350.00. Onhce you take out the time getting to the airport the fact you have to be there 1 hour before departure and travelling time the other end it probably doesnt make that much difference anyway. Though i suppose as they had a private jet they would be chaufer driven to the steps of the plane and to the ground on arrival. Inrigued about the whipround for the cost before Ashley coughed up. Surely out of the money they are on 8 Grand is peanuts.

    Owen

NEVER have i seen a player disrespect his former club the way Owen has with us to think of all the money he has conned out of us. Declared himself unfit for our last home game then coming on as a sub at Villa and do fuck all then 6 weeks later bingo he`s super fit. I just hope the smug bastard breaks BOTH his cruciate ligaments, metatarsals and a few other bones and goes bankrupt. Not that im angry mind.
  17. Does it come with a free pair of VERY dark sunglasses? At least the players wont have difficulty spotting each other. Could also be used as a deckchair cover. And will i buy one - You have got to be joking
  18. Theve done it that way so you have got to fork out for some lettering on the back otherwise it looks no good. So what lettering might you have How about We shall return?
  19. All the signs are that Shearer will stay on as Manager. If its true that he wants Dalgliesh as D.O.F. there would be little point in him saying this if he intends going at the end of the season. Also think on If he keeps us up the demand for him to stay would be unstopable If we go down he may feel honour bound to get us back up. Also if he went at that point he would be seen as a failure and virtually disqaulify himself from any possible return in the future. Ive also heard a rumour that he`s allready deciding on which players to ship out in the Summer. Very early days but allready he has bought respect and calm to what has been one disaster after another really since Sir Bobby went. We all know what a mountain we have to climb Can we do it???????????????
  20. Dont care how much he`s on if he keeps us up he deserves it. Imagine the Mackems pisssing themselves laughing if we went down and they stay up? Before today we were doomed at least now we have some hope.
  21. When sorry if we go down he will be the first out the door thats assuming theres anybody mad enough to sign him. Everybody gets injured some time but lets face it he is a winging glassback he`s only got to topple over and he`s rolling on the ground in agony. His appearance record is a joke theonly reason he came here is because Liverpool wouldnt take him back EVER WONDERED WHY?. When he has come back it was only so he could be picked for the England squad now he`s out of favour with Capello he`s fucked. And why did Chris Hughton drop Lovenkrans and Ryan Talor against Hull in favour of Owen and Geremi when they had played so well against Manure. I can only suppose Owen is trying to get a few games in the vain hope a Premiership club will offer him a contract. The fact that he can go for nought in the summer after all the money we have paid him is a disgrace. O.K. to be fair he has scored some goals which have helped us from time to time but given his cost experience and reputation a lot of which is self made there have not been enough, ( How long has it been since the last one? ) I for one wont be sorry to see him go.
  22. So Steven Taylor says the team have got to start taking risks. They have got to take the game to the opposition. HALLELULUA AT LAST. Anybody told them that`s the general idea of the game. While we are at it perhaps somebody could tell them you kick the circular white thing called a ball into your opponents net and if you do that more times than they do you WIN the game. SIMPLE. So now we are getting to grips with the basics perhaps we can pick up some points and stay in the Premiership. And maybe who knows if (and its a big if) we stay up next season we might actually get somewhere and not be staring Relegation in the face yet again.
  23. At Arsenal he would be second or third choice keeper and most likely spend the rest of his career on the bench. At Spurs he would be in the same position as he is here i.e strong possibillity of playing in the championship next season. Also he would not have the respect he has here. At the end of the day its his decision obviously, if it was any of us it would be no way but we dont know what may make his mind up one way or the other. Certainly if we are to remain in the Premiership its vital he stays.
  24. A good idea hopefully well intentioned but when you think about it where are they going to find 3 million people to stump up 100 quid. O.K you can buy more than 1 share upto 3 miilion pounds worth in fact. Also what happens to the money if they get a few hundred investors but end up well short of the sum Ashley wants? No harm in some form of supporter ownership remember those shares we used to have? They would be better approaching a viable new owner with a proposal of the supporters owning say 20% of the business.
  25. Yet another case against him though this seems a bit of a desperate one ( James Tandy ). Also he faces a lengthy ban with the impending FA disciplinery case. Simple fact is every player that puts on a Newcastle shirt is representing our club, do you want that? My Answer NO WAY. ONLY PROBLEM IS WHO IN THIER RIGHT MIND WILL TAKE HIM OFF OUR HANDS.
