Anyone see the Inside No. 9 Christmas special? I caught it by chance as I hadn't even heard it was going to be on. It wasn't my favourite thing that they've done but there were some funny bits.

Off to Berlin today...

Going to Aberdeen for a Xmas party and not even staying overnight?
We would've had to pay for that bit and payday is the following Monday so I declared myself OUT.
alreetlike jill! where have you been hiding?
As if I hadn't been on here for like 4 months man. My loafing standards are slipping.

The missing finale was good. Still preferred the original series, mainly because I think James Nesbit was such a convincing character compared to David Morrisey. Mind, Baptiste stepped up a notch for this one.
Much preferred this series over the first one, I thought the storyline was more interesting and it was a lot more gripping. Admittedly I do hate James Nesbitt though and he got on my nerves in series 1.
Re: the finale, after the prior episodes I actually found it something of an anticlimax, thought it could've been more exciting but overall it was a very good series. I adore Baptiste.

It's all change for Christmas this year as my firm got taken over by a Scottish company.
We had a meal at Barluga last Friday (average) with colleagues from the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. Then on 16 December we have the pleasure of getting on a 7.30am train to Aberdeen (4 hours) wearing our party clothes, meal/speeches/drinks in a 5* hotel then the train back at about 6.30pm. They've booked us onto the quiet coach on the way back FFS. Honestly can't really be bothered anymore but it's free and a Friday off work.

Can't be chewed with a Christmas dinner this year. It's just the two of us and he's not keen on turkey. Think we're doing a chicken madras with all the trimmings.

I've heard huskies are really challenging dogs, aye.
Huskies are my favourite dogs (I love how evil they look) but I couldn't even entertain the idea of getting one while working all day.
My brother in law has a shih tzu and it's one of the most stupid dogs I've ever met. Absolutely thick as shit. Cute though, granted.

Going to Blackfriars for Restaurant Week with family who haven't been before. I've not fancied the look of their menu the last few times but this one looks alright.
-
Only got two more episodes of Stranger Things to go.
This is where I am. Hoping to get through them tonight after blitzing through 3 last night.
-
Does BHS still have a restaurant? You could get sausage, chips and beans in there. Not sure what your folks will fancy?
Reminds me of so many shopping trips with my mam, getting dragged into BHS while begging to go to McDonald's.
Actually quite grateful for it now.

Sundara Karma in September, Pixies in December.

Back to Berlin in December, despite swearing I could never cope with the cold again. Might as well take advantage of the new flights from Newcastle though.
-
Easyjet reintroducing Newcastle-Berlin flights.
Already planning our next trip.

I don't normally take much of an interest in politics, but I'm genuinely gutted at this result.

Bit of a mix for me this year. Stone Roses tomorrow, Ocean Colour Scene/Shed Seven/Bluetones in July, All Saints in October and probably also going to Kula Shaker in December.

Thank you very much. Some nice people on here. She was only 6 month older than me, she fell down the stairs, fractured her skull and died instantly. I'm gutted, and so are so many people in South Shields. RIP Sarah.
Weirdly that's one thing I'm always really paranoid will happen to me when I'm home alone, because I'm so clumsy on the stairs. Really sorry for your loss, and hope things take a turn for the better soon.

Was he the one that ran himself over with his own car after dropping a baked potato?
( Brian Harvey, not Terry Fuckwitt here)
Aye. It was allegedly 3 baked potatoes. I shouldn't really laugh, in case it actually was another suicide attempt, but that's just an amazing story.
-
Caught the last minute or so of the new Stone Roses single, sounded as expected.
Anyone hear the full thing?
Aye, heard it a few times now. I quite like it, strong riff and it's catchy. Should be good to hear live.

I started watching Harlan Coben's The Five last night. I've only seen the first 2 episodes and enjoyed them, but can tell it's going to be one I have to pay attention to. Loads going on.
-
Finally got round to watching Peaky Blinders last night. I enjoyed it, though like others I struggled a bit to remember all the details of the last series. The new one totally crept up on me as we had been planning to re-watch S2 first but didn't get a chance. The accents have always been a bit dodgy but at least we haven't had to resort to subtitles for this series yet.

bought these 2 months ago and still haven't wore them
Fucking clown shoes!
Dafty
I love those. A lot.

Did anyone watch the new Peaky Blinders last night? I've not seen it yet, but hopefully I will have by the time I'm back in this thread. I've been looking forward to it for ages.
-
They've got rid of the Ham and Pease Pudding stottie as well. Probably run by Tories now
That was one of the best stotties as well.
Jacket potato with baked beans and mature cheddar for lunch here, which is neither interesting nor different.

I felt really sorry for the lass especially having that cunt for a boyfriend. The guy who had to have his stomach drained seemed like a complete lost cause.
The younger kid just needed to man up.
That boyfriend was an absolute arsehole, I wanted to spark him out the way he was going on.

Had to lower myself to watch BGT and download the app to vote, but worth it to see Lee win. Top lad.
