did you see the shot on Setanta of Viduka getting set to come on , Mr Mcdermot had a very serious face accompanied by what you can only guess was some very incitefull dialogue .. I agree this is pretty key, we have very few blokes who look comfortable on the ball, (I mean "comfortable" in the Mark Viduka sense of the word, give him the ball and surround him and he can play keeepy uppee all day) Zog , Duff , Taylor and Viduka anyone else seems to be content to get rid off it in 5 microseconds whether it's to one of your own players or not , maybe it's playing to much one touch in training.

Ok I'm just going to say it, Ronaldo is a class player... ok now we have that out of the way, here is my point. What would happen if you dropped Ronaldo into the current Newcastle first eleven? I would contend , not a lot, mainly because you have to judge players in the context in which they operate. If a forward never gets passed the ball and your playing one up front then it's impossible to get into the game ... (no matter who you are) well I'd also contend that applies to all the players on the pitch to a greater or lesser extent . so .... if you've got a about five guys in the team who shouldn't be playing in the premiership (for one reason or another) it's very hard on the other six football players as they have to fill the gaps for the five wasters. So all I'm saying is , once the deadwood is gone (smith etc etc ) then I think the likes of Jose Enrique etc will get a chance to really shine. does that make sense ?
