that third goal did for Hotspur Hippie….the next one apparently made him want to euthanise the whole team

No, it’s not him…it’s this lad, it’s the old AFCB Mafia again.. https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/features/bourne-legacy-paul-mitchell/

A Berlingo is most definitely not an MPV
-
That’s debatable…a Berlingo has windows all the way round and seats front and back. It could however be adapted quickly and simply into a vital transport link for an amount of two “live” beehives at a time every August; to take them from their usual valley location up to the high hills where they feasted on the heather blossom of late summer producing beautifully pungent heather honey 😊

I think up till the early 90s if you walked into a pub in Newcastle and talked about United most people would think Newcastle. Fairly sure that’s not the case now
-
If you want to stop the boats starting with the smuggling gangs is the right thing to do I really don’t think the tories want to stop them… suggesting that Labour would be worse on this issue is all they’ve got so sorting the issue isn’t in their interests

Spurs made £272 mill in commercial revenue last year. Pity Levy will only allow 1/4 of it to be spent on players 😆 -
Which Thurman were we linked with?… no chance of signing this one for <€60mill but he looks perfect for the premier league

How good a source is that Geordie Dentist/Mitch character? 🤔 He replied to a tweet earlier that we’ve spoken to Maldini twice about becoming our DoF…. although he seems to have deleted it now…have subsequently spent most of the afternoon fantasising about us announcing the appointment the same week as Ashworth appoints Southgate as ETH’s replacement… then Paolo making Federico Chiesa his first signing…good olive oii drizzled on warm Focaccia with a large glass of Primitivo..fava beans and a nice Chianti etc etc…

Maybe about a third of them were commonplace when I was a kid just over the border. Not the specific pit related terms but lots of the general ones. It’s all basically extremely old Anglo Saxon. The land between the Forth and the Tees was never significantly settled by the Norse or the Danes. The language very largely remained what came out of Middle English which itself developed from old English. The everyday language of the people of this area was until the mid 20th century pretty much un corrupted near Middle English…Dan Jackson again here….

Just looked for the Harry Enfield sketch of the two boring twats at the party saying “Soooo…. What are we driving at the moment??”… couldn’t find it but that’s this thread at the moment

According to Dan Jackson, author of this https://www.wob.com/en-gb/books/dan-jackson/northumbrians/9781787381940?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=18075688485&cq_con=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZjMlMnQhQMVuKFQBh2hCQzkEAQYAiABEgLaAPD_BwE#GOR010288790 miners worked in pairs and your marra was literally your partner at the coal face, the person you paired up with to extract as many of the black diamonds as you could. So it’s definitely Pitmatic and that applies to the Northumberland coal field and East Durham
