  1. I've just had an email from another company asking if I can supply a three man team to put up banners on SJP next week.

Be ringing them today for details, but if it's covering over those fuck ugly SD sign I'll be doing it, even if it's shit money.

Did you have anything to do with the rings on the Tyne Bridge?

  2.

Why? One set of fans (and club for that matter) put on the most undignified deluded show you will ever see, digging bigger holes for themselves by the week, where as another have maintained a relatively dignified silence on the matter.

Chelsea's hands were tied by the potential court case. I'm not sure if they could make any public comment about it even if they wanted to. The difference between the two cases is that there was no complaint to the police about what Suarez is alleged to have said. Alex Ferguson knew it was a matter for the ref and then the FA to investigate, not the police. Fergie took Evra to the refs changing room after the game where the ref took a statement. Correct decision by Fergie iyam. Ferdinand and/or his girlfriend went to the police.

  3. No, I can't think of many more serious things than proving to Britain that racial prejudice is no longer tolerated in the 21st century. That doesn't sound like a waste of taxpayer money to me at all.

As for 'acting like men', I know I wouldn't shake the hand of, or be seen at a press conference with, someone who had abused me because of my skin colour. I doubt you would either, if racial abuse of white people were something common enough for you to have ever faced it in your life.

@PL: Not even worth discussing the topic with someone who thinks Terry might not be guilty.

What you are I think about his guilt is irrelevent as we're not trying him. Once you've got a law you've got to stick to it, good or bad. This is PC predjudice of the worth kind iyam, the law was introduced for and by the likes of you who see the world in a purely black and white way, if you see what I mean.

Perhaps you think you can legislate away problems like this. OK then, what legislation largly removed widespread racial chanting in English football grounds in the early 90s? Its not perfect even now, but its massively, hugely improved on the 70s and 80s situation. So what act of Parliament caused the massive sea change in behaviour? Dont worry, I wont hold my breath for an answer thats actually reflects something on the statutue book.

  4. Can't believe some of the pure shite posted in this thread.

The bottom line is that one Englishman, who was the captain of England and a role model to children across the nation (and possibly other nations considering the Premier League's worldwide audience) called another Englishman a fucking black cunt. If he'd stopped at fucking cunt, we wouldn't be discussing this right now. But he brought colour into it and that's just not fucking acceptable in the 21st century.

Some say Terry is an idiot (true) and it was the heat of the moment (true) so he said something he shouldn't have (true) and we should let it go at that (not true.) It was the heat of the moment and Terry was wound up and wanted to insult Ferdinand. Fine. But there he was, angered and stung, and one of the possible insults he came up with was that Ferdinand was black. Why was that even on the menu? How was "black" even being considered as an insult or a name to call someone? Maybe, if Terry gets done for this (to the fullest extent of the law, as he undoubtedly should be), it will send a message that racism is not tolerated in British society and that skin colour is simply not something one can abuse another person over, and twenty years from now it won't even cross the mind of the next idiot to get angry and spit out a bit of bile.

Anyone who disagrees belongs in the Stone Age with Terry, Stevie, and Leazes.

Fuck off man, he's not even been convicted yet. Heard all the evidence have we? No? jog on..

  5. So, Wolfy old son....can you give us the benefit of your no doubt extensive knowlegde of how the sheik may operate at NUFC; how he might "sheik up" the club (can you see what I did there? :)) so we can make an informed choice? Because I know about as much about him as I do the large hadron collider/higgs boson gig in Switzerland...ie its been in the news, but what the fuck is it all about?

    Thanks.

  6.

True. Apparently snorting coke in your spare time ala Mutu is worse than bottling bouncers/taking backhanders for club tours/shagging a team mates Mrs/being a racist

I was abroad when all that carry on with Mutu kicked off...did he fail a drugs test?...were the law involved after that?..

  7.

Not many cases are seen by millions on tv tbf. The CPS were damned If they did, damned if they didnt

If it was a better written law by the clowns we vote into Westminster he wouldnt have got near court. If Chelsea FC and football in general treated players as employees instead of superstars he'd be looking for a new job as well, which would bring at least as much shame to his door.

  8.

Been to Holland loads of times. The Dutch are arrogant but they don't give a fuck, and they like us better than the krauts. I'd recommend Eindhoven to anyone, it's known as an industrial shithole, it's fucking amazing. The way people go on you'd think you were going to Teesside, beautiful place, my favourite part of Euro 2000 was staying there. There's a pedestrian street a mile long with nothing but bars.

Been to 5 dutch stadiums now too, all class, again Eindhoven my favourite. Ajax v Feyenoord Jan 19, £46 return mmmm tempting.

Think I've seen all our games in Holland in the last decade or so...the pre season tour they did when Sir Bob was mananger was fuckin brilliant. Heerenveen was good too, Breda and Alkmaar were a bit wild due to our old friends from Feyenoord coming to visit.

Reading away on the 19th, not missing much there. Do you know how easy it is to get tickets? Italy is almost impossible for tkts now, youve got to be registred with the Italian FA and have your piccy on the tkt.

  9. Am off to Den Haag for the friendly if/when its confirmed...cloggie games are great, cheap and easy to get to and The Netherlands itself is so small you can base yourself in Amsterdam and sample all the delights that fine city has to offer :)

  10. In 1963 two of he Stones, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watt, went to my Mam's in Longbenton for tea and biscuits. Wyman was trying to get into my Aunt, failed apparently.

    Where are they now?

Your auntie was probably too old for Wyman if she'd left school by then ;)

My mates old man is scouser and was big muckers with Ringo Starr before the Beatles hit the big time and used to regularly hang out at the Cavern Club in the band's early days....we got him pissed at my mates wedding and he let slip that hed shagged this ginger bird from Glasgow who was hanging round with them...next time he saw her was on top of the pops..Lulu

  11. Pardew also saying it'll cost a huge amount of cash to persuade NUFC to part with any of the players that are being linked with moves away from SJP....not exactly the same tactic as stating "xxxxx is not for sale at any price" to drive up the price or start a bidding war but it does amount to the same thing. AVB basically said the same thing about Modric yesterday too. This appears to be a new honesty about it which is in a way quite refreshing, basically telling the fans that they shouldnt be under any illusions that the whole squad is up for sale at the right price.

  12. Just come back off the ship and was chatting to one of the sparks on there, not sure what part but he's from Newcastle....we were talking about one of the other sparks when he uttered the immortal line.... "that cunts fuckin radged" My mate from Rotherham was listening to us and had to ask what it meant

  13.

Radio 1 had to change like. The likes of DLT and Simon Bates man

Radio 2 now probably has a canny bit younger audience on the whole than Radio 1 had c. 1993.

Radio 2 was canny good until that other utter wanker Evans got the Wogmeisters gig. Self regarding cretin. I love radio, always have done. Its not much diffferent nowadays content wise to years ago though, theres some you'd pay money to listen to e.g. for teenagers in the 70s and 80s Kenny Everett and Steve Wright were brilliant. I used to tape the Steve Wright show if I was off school, the funniest thing I'd heard as a young un. You had to pick and choose your presenters then as well, as you say DLT and Bates were fuckin dinasours, carrying on the same old shit theyd don since the 60s when half of their alleged audience were getting off their tits every weekend at raves etc...."quack quack oops" fuck me, that was awful

Nowadays 6 music is good, some of the specialist shows on radio one are worth a podcast blast, interesting docu stuff on radio 2, five live is great too. Lots of choice in the digital age. But I pity the youth of today getting musical pointers from Ferne fuckin Cotton and Reggie Yates etc..

  14. Have they sacked him or has he walked? He'll be stinking up Radio 2 before long. Unless he gets a bigger money offer from commercial radio.

Hes playing Herod in ALW's latest production of "Supermac Jesus Christ Superstar"....incredibly, this is actually true

Radio one changed forever in the 90s, aiming for the 16-24 year olds. Moyes was part of that, so now he's basically DLT with a better PR team. He's always been, without exception, fuckin dreadful. Don't care how old you are, at any stage of his radio career you care to mention he's been unlistenable. Didn't like football, joined radio one, discovered football was popular with his audience, decided he was a Leeds Utd fan, culminating in that other cunt Peter Ridsdale being interviewed live on Radio One and singing "Leeds United Calypso" live on air. What a pair of fuckin cockmonkeys.

  15. :)

Terry's defence taking him through insults he has faced about mum. "The Liverpool fans made up a song that my mum loved Scouse cock"

Carragher's old man is alleged to have shagged her whilst away at a WC or Euro's

  16. I don't think that the law in particular is the problem here, it's more to do with the fact that this whole thing came about because one person, who only saw it on TV, decided that it was his moral obligation to report it to the police and set the whole thing in motion.

The common sense approach would be to ask Ferdinand if he wanted it to go to court and since he claims that he didn't the case should've been dropped.

Yeah, but thats down to the CPS deciding whether theres enough evidence to make a case. There plainly is according to them, ot theyre getting off on the publicity. As I say, if found to have comitted the act he'd have been sacked by any other corporate company. That would have been enough, no need to bring the law into it. And its only a law because of politicians' agendas.

  17. So there should be nothing illegal about a gang of white skinheads racially abusing a 10 year old black kid on his way home from school?

The law wasn't designed to protect millionaire footballers but it has to apply in all cases, we can't decide who should be protected by it and who shouldn't.

i'm not saying there shouldnt be legislation against it, I'm saying this particular piece of legislation is just plain bad law. In a case such as you've highlighted I think there are other public order offences that would cover it.

I think the law was introduced by the PC brigade to prove a point and so they can put people into little boxes with labels on, which is what they like to do. That is why some people find it strange it got to court in the first place. Employment law couldve been used in this case, talk like Terry is alleged to have to anybody from a different company in firms time and you're looking at the tin tack. But of course football's "different". Still doesnt detract from the law being shite though.

  18. That he called Ferdinand a black cunt. That's it. It's not a case to establish if he's racist. Just that he used racist language.

Agreed. But the debate has been on here "is this really a criminal offence?" and thats where the grey area is, not the ins and outs of the case. The law is wrong iyam. You cant legislate against someone calling someone else a name, however offensive. Its bollocks.
