I think he's quite a funny person when in TV Burp and when I see him in interviews etc, but his stand up leaves me cold. Same with Ross Noble, when Channel 4 showed his live act I turned it off after 5 minutes.

Weah scored the best goal I've ever seen. Picked the ball up in his own box, then beat the entire opposing team (Verona?) to slot it home.

Embrace to sing England World Cup Song
luckyluke replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
If I remember rightly, 'Three Lions' wasn't an offical song. So there's every chance that someone else can come up with the goods. -
Happy birthday mate.

My wife watches ER so I occasionally watch bits of it between flicking the pages of a book or magazine if I can't be arsed to go upstairs. It is utter horse shit now, and completely unrealistic I would think. Should have finished years ago when Greene died. 111891 I know, I only really watch it out of nostalgia. Still, if you think it's unrealistic you should watch House. I would rather stab myself in the eyes than watch that steaming pile of horseshit again. I like the Apprentice though, forgot about that one.

Mine fucking well isn't.

I'm often busy in the evenings so I don't get a chance to watch much, but I don't find anything that watchable these days, especially now Shameless has finished. I really don't see what the fuss is about Lost, nothing ever seems to happen. A perfect example of how a good looking cast and a flashy marketing campaign will get people raving over a show that is really quite dull. ER has seriously gone downhill (haven't really been into it since Greene died) but I'll still catch it when I can. Most of the new characters are just irratating though, Kovac was interesting when he was shagging prostitutes all the time but now he's just achingly dull.

Nuts & Zoo moved to the top shelf
luckyluke replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in General Chat
I read a copy for the first time in ages yesterday...my housemate bought it (for the tv listings, he says). It really is utter garbage. You do wonder how many more mind numbingly tedious questions they can ask Lucy Pinder. Saying that, it had an interview with Michael Owen, from which I learnt he likes golf. So it's not all bad. -
Now that IS talented. Disappointing batting performance from England, but at least the bowlers were on song.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
luckyluke replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
I wouldn't say they were portrayed particularly badly, just hardly portrayed it all! it's still disappointing especially as the BBC co-produced it. But then again, it was about an American unit. Watched Amelie for the first time in ages. A marvelous film, I love the bit where she offers change to a tramp but he replies 'No thanks, I never work on a Sunday'. -
Took me ages to get that.

The original Playstation is the best console ever IMO. The range of games for it was just stupendous, particularly as smaller companies could still produce quality games as well as the daddy. For example, football games. The PS had FIFA, ISS, Actua Soccer, Three Lions, Michael Owen's World League Soccer ("'ave foon") that one where you just controlled a single player, a sensible soccer remake (albeit a shit one). Now we just have Pro Evo and Fifa. Both of which are brilliant, but the variety in styles of play before was immense.

Yeah, but aren't the circumstances exactly the same now? We're still desperate and the window is still shut.
-
Maybe, but it just shows we have tried this masterplan already!

What I had in mind was someone who has played at the highest level (International and/or Champions League) recently but has now passed their peak. They would still have to have the ability do play a role for us despite their best years being behind them. I wasn't thinking some lower division cart-horse As Alex says, the principal is the same. 110931 Like Ronny Jonsen for example?

The Sun: Owen will not play again this season
luckyluke replied to Wullie's topic in Newcastle Forum
I see your point. However all of his quotes are essentially throwaway stuff that people in this country want to hear. If you had reporters constantly asking you about the world cup what would you say? And I can't be bothered to dig out the quotes but he did say that he was committed to Newcastle that he gets upset when people say he's just thinking about the world cup. (Again, though, you could say that's he just saying that because it's what we want to hear. That's the thing with little Mickey, he's so damned squeaky clean) -

Well until I read it somewhere other than the Sun (and with some quotes from Owen or Roeder) then I'll take my chances. Well call me a part timer but I'd rather we won the World cup and Nufc finish 13th than go out in the quarters and the toon finish 11th. -

Didn't he just have an existing screw tightened? -
The Sun: Owen will not play again this season

I'm not saying he doesn't, and if he was fit of course I'd want him to play for us. But rushing him back half fit for the sake of it is not going to do us, him, or England any favours. -
A black away kit you say? *shudders*. I've still got mine somewhere.

Sounds like his brother's a tosser too then. He's really getting on my nerves with his world cup talk like. 110822 Our season is more or less over, tbh I'd rather we had a fit Owen for the world cup, than him win us a few meaningless games then get injured again. -
Disgrace. Part timers tbh.

Good job I read the whole thread before posting! Great minds Richie...

I was slightly more realistic - a post match threesome with Marylin Monroe and Kiera Knightly.

Hint - get a sense of humour, you miserable git.
