1. I think you're playing with one card there Noelie. 189828 One is easy to play with, no confusion, but when it's 51 you're not playing with a full deck
2. Even though the window has closed, it's a done deal, all over bar the shouting, the captains & the kings have departed, do you still keep looking and hoping we got someone after all on the midnight hour?? I do, but then I'm used to playing with 51 cards.
3. With Owen out of sight, Shola crocked, Luque useless, perhaps Antoine(isn't that a nice name) could serve as a partner for Martins. Anything would be better than persisting with Luque.
4. Is the 'u' key on your keyboard broken mister
5. It defies the imagination.............and yet isn't it typically the Magpie syndrome or sickness if you will. Don't know how much Antoine cost us but we probably could have had Jimmy for nowt, and they're both getting on a bit More than likely we could have got Sol for nowt albeit a healthy wage packet. A little extra might have even got us Dirk, he's going to have competition for place at Liverpool. When you look at the transfer market, you see that other teams seem to have been bringing in defenders & strikers without much problem and it makes you wonder how & why. Bottom line; another cock-up at Newcastle which has to be expected and we shouldn't ever get carried away with hope.
6. I didn't get a free BJ when I became a new signee, do overseas signees have to wait their turn due to distance and travel expenses etc etc and homeys are shown preference?
7. In passing......no no not yet, .....but I've often wondered if there's such a thing as a collective suicide group for Newcastle supporters. There have been times, especially during the Souness debacle, I would have welcomed group-suicide participation, I'd rather go in a crowd than go alone thinking I was the only one in such misery.
8. Eh.........might not be aroond next year
9. .........I'm a dreamer, and I guess I am! Every summer for the past sixty odd years I've dreamt we would start the new season with the wanted players on board, the unwanted off-loaded, and the league championship in our sights. Wot a dozey bastard I am, I don't think it will happen in my lifetime but I shall dream on. 2-1/2 hours to go, will it happen
10. Wannabet? Odds are EVEN we'll sign someone. EVEN if yer a f*****g optomist. And EVEN if ter daft.
11. Took a lass home to North Shields and missed the last bus, had to walk home to Bensham
12. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR FOOD MAN
13. I WOULD 188364 Noelie man! You're 105 years old - of course you would! 188366 Mr. Gemmel says I'm 74 but at any rate I don't get asked anymore so; OF COURSE I WOULD even if it finished me off
14. ....think we are going to sign some sod before the window closes. I don't, and if we did my pacemaker would probaly short-circuit or I'd poop in me pants
15. Aye and Graveson's signed with Celtic so who's left on the wish list?
16. That maybe true but here in California when referring to someone's sexual orientation in a conversation it's quite common to say; "She's gay or He's gay", it's less common to say "She's a lesbian"
17. Any bairns in the neighbourhood look like the Milkman
18. It's evolution of the language and it happens all the time. It's fairly common for words to end up meaning completely the opposite of what they have before. 186931 My Webster's dictionary is circa 1970. Queer:(origin unknown) 1a; differing in some odd way from what is usual or normal. b; Eccentric, unconventional. c; Obsessed. d; sexually deviate, homosexual. 2a; worthless, counterfeit. b; questionable, suspicious. 3, not quite well. Perhaps a new innovative word other than 'gay' should have been used or just left it the way it was. Male and female homosexuals are known as 'Gays' and it doesn't differentiate between gender, so why are they referred to as 'gays & lesbians' in print and in the media?? I've often wondered about that.
19. Apparently this camel-jockey is 31 years old, surely we should be looking at people with a longer shelf-life
20. I'll be more than a little surprised if we sign anyone before the window closes, certainly looks like another cock-up by the powers that be. I think anything or anyone now would be a panic buy and we'd probably end up with another dud like Luque & Boumsong.
21. Gay Gordons were they called that cos they wore skirts? Batchelor Gay that could change with same-sex marriage! Gay Blade that's wot they used to call womenizers fer gawds sake. Gay Old Time best not say that nowadays, it may raise eyebrows. Why did the word GAY come to mean something other than it was designed for?
22. Would you prefer purple or green dear boy?
23. Oh dear Mr. Gemmell I think I'm going mental The last time we won the Big League I don't think wee Hughie Gallagher was even 5ft7 and it was a long-ball game. Left & right fullbacks, centre half-backs, were expected to welly the ball down field, clear the line and not ponse around. Centre-forwards were fed on a diet of long balls albeit they were NEVER alone up front. I'm old-fashioned by way of thinking that 5 forwards was not a bad thing when the defense were wellying long balls. I'm not advocating the long ball nor am I advocating 5 forwards, but I'm never happy if we have less than 3 forwards on the field at the same time. 186160 I think the game might have moved on slightly since the days of 4-2-4 and Hughie Gallagher, Noelie. 186201 It were 2-3-5 in them days Mr. Gemmel, not 4-2-4. our 6 FA Cup Final wins were with 2-3-5 and there were NO substitutes so no decision making changes to be made. Oh. wee Hughie was before my time but I did play against him once when he turned out for 'Huwoods' on the Team Valley Trading Estate where he was working.
