1. Newcastle v Wigan will be shown live at 7:00 am on Saturday here in Southern California courtesy of the 'Fox Soccer Channel'. Aston Villa v Newcastle will be shown live on Sunday 27th. courtesy of 'Setanta'. Hope this is a good sign that more Newcastle matches will be shown
2. Well thank-you kindly Mr. Gemmill, comments like that just set my pacemaker a-racing, ye knaa like
3. Luque Luque balls on Hooky I'm getting a little tired of all this rhetoric and dissertation about pros & cons of Luque at SJP. He has spent more than enough time on the pitch to prove his worth to Newcastle and so far he hasn't done that, one or two goals from a supposed striker is not enough to show any value even if one was a very decent goal. I have to smile(or is it wince) when I remember foreign players doing well for us over the years, and there have been quite a few who apparently settled in, had the right approach and attitude, and did the job they were brought in for. My memory(aa'm an owld gadgee ye knaa) takes me back to the days I watched them two lads from Chile, George & Ted Robledo, both FA Cup winners with Newcastle. And now of course we have Nobby Solano from Peru. My point is, if they have the skill, the ability, the right attitude, the desire to fit in and do well coupled with the help of the players and management, THEY WILL! In my opinion, Luque may have the skill but lacks the ability, the attitude, and the desire, and should be off-loaded as soon as possible, to me he was unfortunately for us a bad panic buy. We have had some successful foreign players and we have had some duds, I believe Luque to be one of the duds.
4. O U R a one Mr. Fish, but maybe it's because I say culler
5. 176197 Is the Big A still there? I know the Angels have changed names about 3 times in the 20 years since I was there 176220 YES, it's still there and the 'Angels' still play there, in fact a couple of years ago they won the so-called 'World Series' for the first time. They were owned by Gene Autry the singing cowboy/movie star but sadly he had died when they finally won summat. They have changed their name on occasion but it has always contained 'Angels'. At the moment they are called the 'Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim', all to do with the new owner and marketing.
6. 176158 So was it an american girl that led you to sunny California? And have you retained your accent? I've visited Anaheim (Disneyland and watched the Rams play at 'the Big A'), must be a nice place to live. 176164 NO, married a London girl(BIG mistake) before I immigrated. Got rid of her and married a lass from Derbyshire, I'm moving furher north. Of course the Rams have left the Big 'A', there isn't an NFL team in the Los Angeles area, nearest one is in San Diego. Some say I have lost my Geordie accent, some say I haven't, but the Yanks all recognize I don't talk quite like them.
7. I perceive our supporters as a nice friendly bunch o' lads, well-mannered and well-behaved, stand-up gentlemen always ready to help the fallen, pristine in looks and attire, men among men, a mothers dream for their daughters, creme de la creme, paragons of virtue, articulate extraordinaire Now when I'm sober..................................................
8. 47 years Dr. Ken. Left Geordieland(in body but not in mind) when I was 26 after a few years in the Merchant Navy. Try to get 'home' every 3 years, was back for 2 months in 2004 so I'm due next year all being well. Inccidently, I'm an Englishman first, a Geordie second, and a Briton third, I have NOT become an American citizen.

11. Got to like musicals when me sister used to drag me to the Theatre Royal in the late 40's early 50's, she didn't like to go alone so she would drag (bribe) me with her. It was always in the 'gods' and I remember the first one was 'Call Me Madam' and have seen a lot since those early days.
12. Just had a shufty at me groin McGroin and there are some gray hairs doon theor but not as many as on me heed.
13. Holy mackeral there Andy, shure glad I didn't become a citizen of the good ol' US of A
14. 100% teetotal ever since I discovered that beer, wine, and hard stuff, all tasted like horrible tasting medicine to me. Guess I was 15-16 at the time of discovery. Nothing against drinking, often wished I did, but never found anything I could swallow without shuddering.
15. Must confess that only once in my life did I set foot in Roker Park. Was on a visit home and only went for the sole purpose of seeing Besty as I had never seen him play in person before. In later years I would see him quite often when he played for the Los Angeles Aztecs, even met him a couple of times when they played our local team the California Surf. In one word, as a football player, BRILLIANT!
16. I do believe that if the A & B & C & F & P words etal were denied from your speechifying you'd have difficulty putting a sentence together Ain't that the fuckin' truth
17. Ketsbaia brought something to the game that a lot of our players don't and haven't...........excitement!! Whenever he got the ball you never knew what he was going to do or which way he was going....................I don't think he did either which added to the excitement.

19. Ok ok, I know it's an old one, just like me, but wots the main difference between spiders and crabs? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .You lot ready for this? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I personally don't know the difference cos I've never had spiders
20. Mebbe aa'm a daft owld sod but mebbe Duff could emulate 'Wor Jackie', but then mebbe yer aal too young to remember that J.E.T. Milburn was a winger, a right winger, who by happenstance became famous as a centre-forward
21. 157516 Could that be Duncan Edwards?
22. Fucks sake Noelie I'll break it down for you s'more. Sven picked the best players, not the best team. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED TO SCORE PENALTIES BECAUSE WE SHOULD HAVE BEATEN THEM IN 90 MINUTES. the game was "up for grabs" as soon as the first whistle went, if we were playing the right men in the right positions in the right formation we would have beaten a poor Portugal side. I don't care about how they took their penalties because I know we should have beaten Portugal in 90 minutes! I can't think of any other way to say that we should never have let it get to penalties... we're a better team than Portugal, but were let down by poor management of the men and the situation. 155622 OK, OK Mr. Fish. 1: Piss-poor manager. 2: Piss-poor tactics. 3: Piss-poor decisions. 4: Piss-poor substitutions. 5: Piss-poor team selection. 6: Piss-poor formation. 7: Piss-poor ending. Ye 'appy noo son? 8: If it hadn't been for piss-poor penalties we'd be in the semi-final.
