  1. RIP! I heard this on the way to our match yesterday, its tragic like! Burnley put on a training session and had people with donation buckets. All the money raised went to QPR so they could make a tribute for him. Class act that from Burnley.
  2. Its absolutley horrible to watch it happening to someone infront of thousands of people. Hope the lad makes a full recovery, i wouldnt wish it on any player!
  3. And i'm sure that's exactly how all the mackems will see it It is becoming more amusing reading the SMB with every day! It must be good for Keane to know that should he ever fancy experimenting with his sexuality, that there are 20,000+ blokes absolutely gagging to be nailed by him! Some of the stuff they come out with about him is priceless! Obviously you like to judge people by internet persona's? It so happens im not the type of person to rip the piss out of my rivals, i prefer to talk about football. All fun and games afterall but i wont get pulled into arguing about how good Keane was as a player, and how his management career has gone so far. I think hes proved a point with his actions alone to be honest. And it was Paul who i had the chat about Nugent with, we agreed he was overated and i said "i hope we dont sign him". There's plenty of sensible Sunderland fans out there, i've even met the odd one But some of the lot on that board are disturbed I think you're right that Keane thus far has done a good job, he did after all inherit and absolute shambles and turn it round (unfortunately!) but i think some of them would as Sima said applaud him for shaggign their mum! I dont post that much on rtg anymore! And i definately wouldnt applaud him for shagging my mother!!!! On the case of Nugent i'd rather have this Alfonso Alves, watched him in the dutch league last year and he seemed to ooze goals!

  5. Strange that, i only thought he'd been offered talks? Also was speaking to a lad off here on sunday morning saying how overated i think Nugent is, championship striker....
  6. I think that should probably be "facts" From what i heard hes not leaving to any club but Everton, who he supposedly supported as a lad. Not fussed on missing out on a championship player, we already have the title winning forward line. And we move on.
  7. Good signing for them, i reckon he could do well next year after seeing him this summer.
  8. Glad we didnt sign him, as the reason we pulled out it yet to be released i think people should wait for full facts.... As for the good players signing for Keane, how many weeks in is till the start of the season?
  9. I don't doubt you'll have plenty to spend, but the bigger question is who can you attract ? No doubt there will be domestic players that would play for Roy Keane but how far does his appeal stretch ? Just depends now on his powers of persuasion, still has to be the most promising SAFC situation we've been in during my lifetime (19 years). Also depends on how SAFC are now marketed as opposed to Bob Murrays shit chairmanship. I'd argue that the early days of the Peter Reid management was perhaps your most promising situation to be honest. I think they were halycon days for the North East teams as a whole. We we're established into the Keegan era, Boro were going places with Robson and you lot seemed to be getting on track too. Didn't we all with the First Division within a couple of years too? I have to disagree, Murrays set-up was a disaster waiting to happen financially, a fair comparison to FFS and your club. I think Quinn is a special chairman and Keane is definately the man for the job. Like i said im really looking forward to next year as i believe we could finally act big as opposed to just talking the talk.

  11. To be honest i think SAFC going up can only be good for NUFC. Maybe it will force FFS into some action instead of laying back on being better than the rivals card........ Also heard we have a fair amount more than £20m to spend this summer.
  12. Our investment came from an ex-player, so it wasnt really a business idea. How much exactly did Quinn put in? As far as I'm aware the majority of the money was put in by Irish investors who will be looking to see a return on their money so I would say it was a business idea. Think most of the money came from a consortium of irish investors, but quite abit came from some of his horse racing friends from Ireland........ To be honest i dont think they will want to see a return for their money, to them its more about exporting Ireland as a country into our league ala Celtic etc
  13. Was it not meant to be Sunderland, Newcastle and a couple of decent European teams?
  14. Our investment came from an ex-player, so it wasnt really a business idea. I think first of all you have to get rid of Shepherd to stand any chance of a change. The debt could also be an issue like, the club have never actually been honest on how much it is.
  15. Some of our fans may have been drunk, but the gesture from the big man was great all the same. Really couldnt see Shepherd doing it, but thats not a dig, were just very lucky to have a quality chairman. I agree that you as our rival fans will try to find ways to sledge him, but as the only fans in the UK doing so proves a fair point too. The attendances we get after a season with 15 points arent too bad to be honest either Changing topic have anyone on here heard any echo's of a "alleged" pre-season tournament between us?
