  1. Michael Ball is still on a free as well, would be great cover for all defensive positions.

He'd be a very logical signing tbh, especially since we're weak at Left Back. Probably the exact reason it hasn't happened.

Or that he is always injured like....................

  2. Pld----Gd----Pts

    1 Newcastle 9 +13 22

    2 West Brom 9 +12 20

    -----------------------------------------------

    3 Preston 9 +7 18

    4 Middlesbrough 9 +5 17

    5 Blackpool 9 +6 16

    6 Sheff Utd 9 +4 15

    -----------------------------------------------

    7 Watford 9 +2 14

    8 QPR 8 +5 13

    9 Cardiff 9 +3 13

    10 Leicester 9 +1 13

    :)

So we are 2pts clear of WBA, 4pts clear of PNE and 5pts clear of Boro with the best GD in the league. With QPR at home midweek and Bristol City at home next weekend we could well see 6 pts added to our tally and the gap increasing further.

    Believing yet?

I'll believe it if it stays like that at the final whistle on the last day, lets not get too confident.

  3. I dont think we looked that shaky. I dont recall Harper having to make a worthwhile save although he picked off a few good crosses. Shame he is playing in this division this year as I reckon he could have been sniffing around the England squad. He is better than Paul Robinson.

    Here we go again! :):D

  4. From the Victimpool Echo, can anyone believe the irony? No wonder people hate the cunts

Sebastien Bassong – the latest in a long line of hapless Newcastle defenders – headed a clearance straight to Steven Gerrard.

After the Reds skipper fizzed a shot narrowly wide, the defender was patted sympathetically on the shoulder by keeper Steve Harper.

Seconds later Fabio Aurelio sliced a clearance into touch.

It hardly posed a similar level of danger, but the Brazilian's ears were left burning by a Carragher broadside.

Liverpool were embarrassingly in control all afternoon.

It was almost as if Newcastle had accepted their most realistic route to safety lay in home games with Middlesbrough and Fulham, not in a testing assignment at a motivated Liverpool.

Which is an insult to the self-proclaimed best supporters in the world.

The truth or otherwise of that oft-quoted statement could be put to the test next season.

Manchester City, Leeds and Wolves have all attracted enormous gates in the lower leagues.

Newcastle may soon get the chance to show they can improve on the 21,125 who watched the Magpies lose to Tranmere Rovers at St James' Park when Alan Shearer was still a Blackburn striker.

That was in the formative years of the brand new Premier League before King Kevin began to wave his magic wand around St James Park and before black and white stripes became the mandatory matchday uniform for your average Geordie.

He was still a Southampton player the stupid cunts, that was 91/92 when we were 23rd in Division Two, they were getting 33,000 under Houllier in the Premiership. Fucking scouse cunts, I honestly hate them.

ps Man City, Wolves, and Leeds huge gates in the lower leagues??? All lower than us in either of 1984 or 1993 in a lower league. Fucking idiots.

What a sad, bitter man you are. bet your a right barrel of laughs. Face it mate, we outclass you more or less every single time we play you lot, and no matter how hard you try we are by far a bigger club than you, with ten times the amount of fans nationally and 100 times the amount of fans worldwide than you. you say we don't have as big a local fanbase as you lot? well done einstein, considering were a two team city - three if your counting Tranmere - and considering there is not much difference in populations of the two cities and surrounding areas, then its hardly surprising.

And know this, its Newcastle fans like you who are giving the fans a bad name, with your spurious facts about attendances (interestingly what have been your cup attendances in the last few seasons?) and claiming your this massive club, when in reality you've just got a big ground, big clubs win trophies mate.

Aye not much of a difference like

    London 7.2 Million

    Birmingham 992000

    Leeds 720000

    Glasgow 560000

    Edinburgh 450000

    Liverpool 440000

    Minutes silence please.

  5. MARK Viduka is poised for a return to action and believes he can get back to goalscoring form and help struggling Newcastle United fight off a relegation battle.

The 33-year-old, who hasn't scored for Newcastle since April, could return to the Magpies first-team this Saturday after over a month out with a groin injury when they face bottom club West Bromwich in an important clash between two battling sides.

Along with Viduka, forwards Obafemi Martins and Alan Smith are also returning to fitness at St James' Park which will give Toon fans hope.

And the former Celtic and Leeds hitman, who has struggled with injuries and form since joining Newcastle in 2007, believes he can play his part in helping the Magpies out of relegation danger.

Viduka told The Echo: "Last year we showed towards the end we could play together with three up front. We were a threat to many defences. And I'd love to repeat some of that.

"Last season they couldn't deal with Oba's pace, Michael Owen's goalscoring ability and myself as a target man."

Currently though, Newcastle are just one point out of the drop zone sitting precariously in 15th in the Premier League.

Viduka added: "The manager's got a lot of options up front when everyone's fit, and this team has got goals in it.

"We pulled away from trouble last season when we used that formation and if we can click up front again then hopefully we can do the same this time."

Bollocks to him, sure as hell couldnt be arsed at Wigan when he decided just to walk straight down the tunnel when he couldnt be arsed.

  6. Yeh to be honest i will only wear them when playing now, I prefer to take a scarf to the match.

I like it when you see loads of people at the match in b&w tops but I never wear one myself (5-a-side apart). I think they're for kids really. I've got the odd old one I might occasionally dig out (Asics one mentioned before and the beer mat / grandad collar one). I've got a couple of match-worn ones I've been given since then too. Never wear those either. Should probably sell them on ebay really.

The match worn shirts are probably worth keeping if they are from a player of note - just to have.

There was a bloke selling some on here who had some class ones.

I do have a load of football shirts and some pretty good ones but I prefer to wear them to play in or sometimes watching a match in the house, when generally it's too warm for a scarf

I'm currently after a Ujpest shirt but I can't even begin to translate the website!

I got a Ujpest shirt whilst I was in Hungary (the missus is from Hungary!), Quite nice, tbf!

  7. I think we can get through this but we'll need a fair chunk of luck. Key to it is prem survival, ditching JFK in the summer & getting in a decent manager. We then need to rebuild the squad, losing the dead wood, letting malcontents go and making some canny signings well ahead of a decent pre-season. Unfortunately this will require the Board to get a grip, make some plans, make them happen in good time and spend some money - all of which seems to be beyond them up to now.

More likely if we survive, they'll all have a nice long holiday and then get together to discuss what should be done a week before the season starts. JFK will then write out a list of urgent transfer targets and Wise will wipe his arse on them, as usual. While Ashley's stuffing his face with Lame-Ass in some Knightsbridge eaterie, Wise will be negotiating on deadline day to sign Dean Windass and three 16 year old wonder kids.

    Bah!

Since when have NUFC ever had luck?!
