  1. Agree to an extent but I still think we should be able to call puff's tackles when we see them.
  2. They were a pretty good band (though being a Sabbath fan I thought their use of Iommi riffs was apparent) who imo have become over-rated due to James Dean syndrome - I still don't think they would have become as huge as people say if he hadn't died. I also think killing yourself when you have a family should be factored in to the Godhood status.
  3. I agree but I'd guess a neutral would say we had Ginola and Robert who could be defined as divers/professional without the benefit of black & white eyes - or even Shearer. Looking back in history Leeds under Revie and the 80s Liverpool team were both teams full of cunts as well so you can't play the modern/foreign card that easily either. In fact it could be argued our failure has been lack of "professionalism" when we had good teams.
  4. I remember saying early on that he looked good but wasn't nasty enough for an Argie - that puff's tackle on the edge of the box for the first goal was fucking terrible.
  5. Goal difference. Even if we get level on points we are still in the bottom 3. I think we'll be above them next week and by a couple of extra GD - a tight win for us and a slaughtering for them.
  6. So how did Sunderland get a point for losing 2-0 out of interest?
  7. Nolan, Guttierez and Duff/Lovenkrands were all shit - defence aside the complete lack of creativity/chance creation from out midfield is why I still think we're doomed. We need Viduka and Barton back to have even a small chance imo - and that's too much to ask for as we all know.
  8. Compare the safety first of disallowing that one with the one at Anfield a few years ago where it was against the laws of physics for the linesman to see through Given's body but he couldn't wait to flag for a goal.
  9. Unfortunately this is a typical Chelsea performance where they win 1-0 - I hope I'm wrong. Having said that 0-0 wouldn't be the end of the world.
  10. Perfect chance for a gene pool cull.
  11. I've been listening to the White Lies album all week and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes the singles - all 10 tracks of similar quality.
  12. 52 was the one my Dad was at - won his ticket in a football club raffle.
  13. I think that's the key - it may still end in tears but at least they've done something.
  14. It again begs the question why the fuck do they seem to think bringing him back is a good idea.
  15. That's the doubt I was on about dickhead And anyone who thinks Ashley woke up on Sunday morning in a Scrooge like state after being visited by the ghosts of Toon past, present and future wants their heads examining. That's just put an image in my head which has made me laugh. Be fookin brilliant if that happened like Keegan, Kinnear & Shearer as the ghosts?
  16. I think he'd been briefed to be very strong on the 8 game mantra - maybe they think this will focus everybody for the task in hand which I agree with. He hinted that the future was "up to those in charge" which I think leaves room for him to stay. I don't mean this in a nasty way but I hope Kinnear's health gives them an easy way out of what looks on the surface like a very worrying commitment.
  17. I'd find it interesting to ask him whether he would have put a load in for transfers if we'd been debt free when he bought the club - I don't think the £100m would have been there but maybe a fair bit of it.
  18. Banks knew a shitstorm was coming in about September/October 2007 but it wasn't really thought of of being that bad until the middle of last year. However it was March 2008 that Ashley supposedly lost £200m on HBOS shares - a fact which I've said before shows that he is a fucking imbecile.
  19. Not necessarily - I would still want Ashley out unless he put up transfer money. Of course that may be wrapped up in Shearer staying but the prospect of having any manager with the constraints of the last few windows does not make me happy. Sorry I did not mean everyone is happy as in all of us, I meant Shearer, Ashley and the Club management. We, all will never be happy. Fair enough - I think Ashley's happiness will be measured by ST renewals.
  20. Not necessarily - I would still want Ashley out unless he put up transfer money. Of course that may be wrapped up in Shearer staying but the prospect of having any manager with the constraints of the last few windows does not make me happy.
  21. I think if it works well and we do stop up, even Ashley would be hard pressed to be stupid enough to "get rid" of Shearer. He may be relying on Shearer being forthright in insisting the job is finished but even then the negative swing of him leaving would be bad business.
  22. Ashley is a reactive gambler imo - he takes decisions on the throw of a dice which is why "long term plans" has always been bollocks. In September there was no good reason as far as he was concerned to choose Keegan over Wise as he'd convinced himself the structure would work. I think he has now woken up to relegation and thrown the dice again without much thought.
  23. If it wasn't the plan for him to go and it is at Shearer's request then that for me shows that Ashley has finally realised what shit we are in in having to change his plans. It also suggests they want Shearer for longer than this rescue mission.
  24. Just laughing at cunts who are "peaceful protesters" who now want to leave and the coppers won't let them - cue the classic "We're supposed to live in a free country" - fuck off - where were you when they started doing that to football fans you Guardian reading fucking shitbags?
